  1. Picked up a boot liner from my Lexus dealer this morning at a cost of $108.90 (GST inc.). Very handy if you're a golfer :) It seems that accessories are now starting to come thru but I wasn't able to get a list of what's available.
  2. Enjoy it when you get it. What delivery lead time did the dealer give you?
  3. That's what I'm presently using and as you said it works fine. How long was the short cable you tried?
  4. Stephen congrats on the new car Your sales rep should have offered you a follow up or 2nd lesson. Taking the 2nd lesson is probably a good idea for your wife, & yourself to get the most out of the features of your new car. Its better than trying to read the massive owners manual. Thanks. Starting to get the hang of how it works. There's some really smart technology going on under the covers.
  5. Picked my car up yesterday, Sports Luxury, white with black leather interior. Still getting used to it and finding it very eerie when pressing the power on button and not hearing the engine rev up. My wife has taken it out this afternoon and she's somewhat intimidated by the car's functions given that she's technically challenged at the best time when trying to use a computer and wouldn't know where to start with an iPhone
  6. That looks pretty good. Do think the 7cm cable might have done the trick or would it be too short? I bought on E-bay the other week a retractable cable that I was wanting to use when travelling and was going to try it out in the car too. What you've found appears to be better.
  7. I'm afraid not. The same thought went through my mind. I called up the ATO and after much researching by them they said the regular "car limit" applies and that's the $57,466 figure.
  8. For anyone acquiring a CT200h with an ABN, keep in mind that the CT200h falls into the ATO's definition of a "fuel efficient vehicle" which is a vehicle having a fuel consumption that does not exceed 7 litres per 100 kilometres. The published figure for the CT200h is 4.1 litres per 100km. The Luxury Car Tax for 2010-2011 would normally cut in at $57,466 but for fuel efficient vehicles it's $75,375. That means that for anyone who can claim the GST back on their purchase, they'll be able to claim the full amount of the GST rather than up to the $57,466 limit. As a disclaimer, you should confirm the above with your accountant.
  9. After testing a SPORTS LUXURY yesterday at Sydney City Lexus, I ordered one, White with Black Interior. The only other colour available was black with ivory interior. There were no SPORTS LUXURY cars available with the optional Sports Package :( I was told that after the initial batch was sold, it could be a few months before new stock was received because of the situation in Japan. For golfers, you'll be please to know you can get a set of clubs in the luggage space without having to fold down the rear seats, they fitted perfectly placed across the width of the luggage area. That's not something that a mate of mine with a current C Class Mercedes can do :) One thing I did pick up on is that the cradle that's provided for an iPhone/iPod is different to that fitted in the US cars. The one here allows for the iPhone to be placed on its edge where the US cradle fits into the slot above where the USB adapter is: Hope to get the car early next month.
  10. That's exactly what I'm intending to do, down-size from a 2007 IS250 Prestige to a White Sports Luxury :) What colour interior and trim did you order? I've got the test drive organised for this week.
  11. It would certainly be nice to be able to do to the ML DVD player that you can do to most other DVD players and that is unlock it to play all Regions. The only difficulty is knowing is exactly who is the DVD manufacturer that the ML system incorporates. There are any number of sites around that provide unlock codes for DVD players, just need to know the manufacturer.
  12. I was actually referring to music DVDs. You can still play them whilst in motion, you just can't view the video. Mind you, the way the traffic is in Sydney these days, you can just whack on the emergency brake and enjoy the video whlst stuck in the traffic. :)
  13. Can anyone confirm what Region DVDs are playable and has anyone heard of any hack to make the DVD player multi-region?
  14. Just noticed that Sewell Lexus Parts now list a screen protector as one of their items at a cost of $US5.90 plus shipping.
  15. When I got my illuminated sills from the US I went off to my local auto-electrician and he fitted them for $60. All he did was wire them into the door light wiring.
  16. On my 2007 IS250 I've set up the various Speed Dial numbers but I'm wondering has anybody successfully set up Speed Tones? My understanding of the usage of speed tones is that you're able to to assign different ringtones to several different incoming numbers. However, when I tried doing this and registering the different numbers there was no difference in any of the ringtones assigned. I had my car in for service today and unbelievably even the service guys couldn't make it work either.
  17. Sorry, I can't remember. If you do a search thru ebay using a combination of words involving screen protector and satellite navigation hopefully you'll find it.
  18. Curious to know why the Australian IS250 does not get the SATNAV Voice Recognition Command facility only voice recognition for the telephone facility.
  19. Has anyone else noticed that when looking at their on-screen telephone call log that it presently shows the time of the call one hour less than what the actual time is? It's obviously a DST issue in that the internal clock that's used to record the time hasn't been updated to reflect that the ending of DST has been deferred one week. Steve
  20. When I pushed up on the glass I was able to detect some slight movement and also highlight the noise I was hearing.
  21. Had my car picked up yesterday morning by the dealer and it was returned mid-afternoon. The service details were as follows: "Inspected sunroof, found sunroof seal drying out. Lubricated and cleaned sunroof seal. Tested sunroof operating, ok" I Must say that there is now no evidence of any "squeaking/creaking" with my moonroof but can't help but wonder if at some future stage the seals might dry out again resulting an re-occurence of the problem.
  22. I have a 2007 Prestige with the enhancement pack which has done 2,500km. The car is going in next week to rectify a problem with the moonroof squeaking/creaking when it's closed. The problem was not evident when the car was new nearly 3 months ago. Interestingly, when the roof is closed, I can press the glass upwards and the amount of free movement is quite noticeable. I suspect the problem is with the seals and the fact the roof is not closing tight enough. Will report back after I've gotten the car back.
