  1. my original wheels are sitting in my garage for when i sell the car one day.

I have the prestige with all the available options.

I'm goin to upgrade my 18" to 20"/22" :) so if you interested? Wheels is Gmax enigma, tyres is Bridgestone Eagle F1. Its used only 2 months (4kms) :)

Go with 19's, you will have to many hassles with the 20's or 22's, and it will sit like a boat and you wont be able to lower it because it will rub left right and center.

Seriously? thanks Niick, will consider that.

yep! ive been into car modifying along with a few of my mates for a while now. So unless you are interested in modifying your wheel arches then 19's are the max i would recommend. Ive got 19's and i have to get my rear guards rolled because of the width of the rim.

  2. for anyone interested in getting this mod done i do it for $250.00. i've got an is250 myself and it's been done on that so you can see the results. i'm in sydney, msg me if interested.

personally i don't watch dvd on the move but it's good for the passengers.

Im not exactly interested in getting it done because im in melbourne, but i just have a question for you. Can you split the video input from the nav, so that you can put lcds in the back of the headrests?

  4. If brake pads made a very big difference in stopping power, why wouldn't people get high performance pads instead of upgrading their brakes?

As long as the pads can provide adequate friction, which all new brake pads do, its all up to the calipers themselves.

Who is going to be driving fast enough on Australian roads to warrant the small percent of extra stopping power these high performance brakes offer?

  5. Asbestos has been banned since 2003-2004 by legislation... it is a known carcinogen

The brakes have a lot of carbon content because these pads are the same pads used in Europe where brakes need to perform at a certain level in sub zero conditions. Yes they are high performance pads but these pads have the same properties you'll find on any European spec'ed vehicles.

Yes it's annoying but put it this way, which would you rather? Better braking performance or clean wheels?

Not true.. search around in some american IS250 forums.. the majority of them said they noticed little or no difference in braking

  6. The standard ones are high friction pads designed for regular high speed braking (i.e 180+km/h)

Doubt many of us are able to get those kind of speeds regularly enough to need these kinds of pads.

All you need to look for is any good ceramic pads, some advertise 'low dust' and designed for Australian roads, there both good.

I was going to call Melb City Lexus to see if they would swap them over for me but now that you say you asked.. i duno.

I might try give it a go anyway.

  7. hahah thats a shame, im in Melbourne. Ill have to see how things go with the installation of my springs first, my father just sold his hoist so it will make things a bit harder. After having the wheels on for a couple months now, im very used to it. The only difference I have noticed over stock is when there is a big bump in the road, i feel it a bit more. But that isn't because of the wheels themselves, but the very low profile tyres that are on them. If your very concerned about that, i would suggest 18's with a higher profile tyre. You could get away with 19's and a higher profile tyre but you might have to fix some rubbing. Feel free to pm me whenever because it seems you have had all the same queries i have had along the way with modification and I might be able to help you out.

  8. With my IS250 they gave me an option to scotchguard the whole interior.. which is what i did. The sides of the foot wells get a bit dirty with the light interior but scrubbing with a damp rag gets rid of most of it. For the floor mats i use a brush and carpet shampoo and then hose them down.. comes out alright. I got the best results using a britex carpet cleaning machine though.

In the short term they are pretty easy to clean but personally im looking for a set of the charcoal coloured floor mats for winter time.

  9. Veryyy nice rims!! :) what tyres did you use? and what cost was the rims ? Also where are you going to get your springs fitted? Will that affect the warranty? Let me know as I am looking around for mine too :)

I got a 3 grand wheel and tyre package for $1800 delivered through tempe tyres

The tyres are Nankang Sports... very quiet for such low profile tyres.

As for the springs, i will be installing them myself as i did with the rims.

My father has been in the car trade for many years so it makes it easier.

As for the warranty, the only way it will affect it is if something goes wrong that is directly related to the modification,

for example, your wheel+tyres are too big and they rub holes through the plastic in the wheel arches etc. If something

goes wrong like a gearbox or diff, your still covered.

What area are you guys from?

  10. Niick, i would like to know more about your 19s as i am wanting to get them, did you lower your car or is it a sports model with oem sports suspense?

    Got any pics?

No worries. Ive got a prestige and I havent got it lowered yet!

Big fender gap but I will hopefully be getting a set of springs soon.

I haven't decided on which springs yet but probably Eibach, Esperlir, Megan or King Springs.

My rims are Axis Decades, with 235/30/19 tyres on front and 275/35/19 on the rears

Sorry about the crap pics.. ill take a few more soon.
