Hello, David
that sounds good! thanks in advance. I will let you know if i do go down this path with the VAIS.
I am looking around a few other sites for an ipod connector that links into the AUX port.
I'm in Melbourne and quite happy to accept your offer if Melbourne is your home town too! And in case you're not, I took a look at the installation manual, and it does seem quite simple - I just don't know how I'd actually get access to the rear of the head unit to plug it in. Did you end up putting the VAIS in the glovebox or the centre console? I've got my iPod in the console atm, but that's only because I can't control it, so I don't mind (and would prefer) to put it into the glovebox.

hello, Atlantis
thanks for the reply. That's positive and good paving the way for the rest of us.
like mister_david, i have also been using the AUX. Sound quality is good to me and doesn't bother me but
since the integration is possible and we can DIY, i might look into it further.

has anybody done the installation themselves?
I would like to see how complex is it to get the audio head unit on a Lexus is250 (pre 2009) out.
thanks

Hmmm ... so you actually got it done? I know you quoted 60000Km and $805, but did you get it done?
If so which dealer?
/yes I got it done :)
you got pm

Anyone has gotten their discs and pads done recently, if so where and how much? And what Kms did u survived to?
The dealers has quoted me the same as what Jomster has quoted a few post back.
Have you not read through the 3 pages of posts this thread has?
I've even got a post in the same page as this (ie post #32) indicating the price and mileage.

good answer if I was asking for choice between DBA rotors and other rotors ( I love DBAs by the way on my other car).
Nevertheless, as I was asking, would braking still be fairly "squel-less" with a combination of Lucas pads and DBA street rotors?
Anyone?
thanks :)
PS
MOST
DBA are made in Australia
Almost all
RDA are made in China
Consider your decision.
DBA also cool better and have Kanga pow ventilation

Car: IS 250
I just brought mine into the dealer for a 60,000km service.
Pretty happy with the performance of the stock rotors/pads.
They quoted $805 for new rotors and pads.
- does anyone know what company makes the OEM rotors and pads for the IS 250?
- I just want a replacement such that it is still silent and the performance of the stock set up is pretty good IMO. I'm thinking of using DBA street series rotors(DBA 2726) and Lucas pads . Anyone with this combination?

thanks
HiI'm up for new tyres for my 2004 RX330.
Lexus wants over $1200 for 2 Michelins, fitted, balanced, wheel alignment!
Anybody got any recommendations?
I've had a quote for 4 Bridgestones ($300 each) or Yokohama ($280 each) from Bob Jane.
Well we put Sumitomo's on the Rx300 and they were around $150 tyre fitted etc. The rims are 16's on the rx300/harrier so not sure if they make them for the RX330.

hi, there
1) Oil filter can be purchased from repco. Its model is 2664P and should cost you about $32 (Lexus will sell it for a few folds). Both the Lexus and repco ones are similar in that they are made out of some sort of paper material which you replace at each oil change
2) IS 250 takes up 6.5 litres of 5w30 oil.
Not sure if Lexus dealers put in fully synthetic (as I have enquired with the service rep and it's either he was clueless or did not want to disclose anything) but ours runs on mobil 1 fully synthetic oil.
For our recent service (our IS250 just passed its warranty period), I brought the car to my regular performance shop (that is known for thorough workmanship on performance cars) . Car runs as smooth as ever and the cost was about 60% of what Lexus charges.
