  1. Hey All

Have this problem - when i go to auto close my sunroof - it stops right before close - then goes back to being fully open

have to manually close the roof by going to the first open setting then to close. annoying... i did check for anything blocking or interupting it...

also this happened the same night i was driving on the M4 and my VSC check warning came on... reset the ecu, it went away, then back on the M4 the next day and bang straight back on :P

  2. I had my resonator deleted as well, its worth it -just make sure they do a proper job..

Don't get midas to do it, they will charge an arm - very bad stories i heard about them. Just find a local exhaust place.

Anyway with no resonator you get a little reonance and a touch more raspy sound. But letting you know now its not super noticable, in an underground carpark rev the hell out of it then its obvious!!

  3. Thanks Atlantis, to be honest 19's was my aim, but these wheels only came in 18 or 20.. so i got 18's

I got 20's last week and they are perfect - no rubbing (got the right offset - good places will send off the wheels to machine back to ensure perfect fit) and its not too bumpy at all... depends on your sussy setup and tyre pressure 32-40psi is alot of difference.

Ive been in other cars with 20's (not IS250's) are some were crazy bumpy.

  4. Everyone has there own opinion...

I think it looks fn good! but that does not mean id buy them... and most tyre shops got the budget rims and they also got their pricey ones.

Personally I got a set of 20's last week after upgrading my 18's (no not OEM's no questions pls) and i went for the machine face stylish look - actually first one in AUS with these wheels - will post pics one day...

  5. honestly i didnt feel any major difference when depressing on day to day driving (maybe a touch more bite if any), but when u mash it at higher speeds it does stop better

    can you define 'better' please?

better as in it brakes/stops better... better than my worn out standard set-up i had. I havent compared it to different set-ups so not sure.

depends on previous brake condition, tyres, tarmac... cant exactly provide brake distance improvements

  6. Couple months ago i put the RDA slotted rotors, matched with Green Stuff.

Works very well, and most notable thing is barely any brake dust compared to the Lexus types.

This is the setup I'm interested in. I've seen this setup on other cars but not on a Lexus.

Do you get more or less initial "bite" when you depress the brake pedal?

  7. hey guys

i was just wondering how much everyone paid for their IS250's

and also if it was new or used, if used how many km's??

sorry if im butting into personal info, but i wanna find a good price for a used IS250

    around a 2007 - 08 model with less than 50,000km, preferably under 30,000

either a Prestige with EMV pack or a Sport or even a X model

    i saw this REALLY nice '07 IS250 X in black with 24,000km for $53,000

but i wont be getting my car for a while, :( :( :(

my mum said she's not paying more than 50K,

so i should be able to get a IS250 Prestige with EMV for under that i think

maybe a '06 or '07 model, cuz i also need to save a bit for some mods, like taking the resinator off and new exhaust tips, and a set of nice rims and new tyres

The last line sounds just like my car - late '06 EMV, removed resonator, exhaust tips, rims... plus lowering

    nice choice! :D

  8. I had removed my resonator, and while its not a massive change, there is a change. Gives a more raspy sound - euro style. Would recommend for sure.

With my Intake I also got a little extra growl - removed the little rubber thing inside the intake (extra hole) and dropped in a Blitz filter. The Blitz alone makes a sound difference.

So if a cheap and cheerful mod is what you want, go for the above! :)

  9. I've recently installed a Mtec kit purchased on eBay, and the installation was fairly easy. These are how the Mtec 4300K and 6000K HID bulbs look like on my car. I might attach some photos and write a short tutorial about the installation if anyone's interested.

If you ever free im sure a few of us would be interested on DIY install? Great pic on showing the difference.

  10. I had toyo transpath sw on my IS200. and they were amazingly quite and an excelent tire all round.

I was advised against kuhmo as they cheaply made chinese tire. (Not very good)

I was advised to get japanese or australian with an a symetrical pattern.

    check this out

Kuhmo's are Korean and actually perform quite well compared to some Jap brands

  11. Further to my last post: Serviced my IS250 last week and got a loan Prestige IS250. After a good couple of years on my 18" Kumho's, I was surprised at how much tyre roar there was from the stock 16" Bridgestone RE030 tyres. I tend to talk on my phone a lot as I drive (Bluetooth) and I was shouting to be heard over the tyre roar. (And no, I didn't go into it expecting to compare tyre noisyness - I was actually meaning to compare tyre roadholding!!)

I just got Kumho SPT's as well on 18's - good tyre and not too noisy at all

  12. Hey All

I was checking my air filter (stock) and giving it a little clean up. After all that I now get the 'Check VSC' message.

I had a look at the cables etc if I unclipped or possibly damaged anything but they looked fine.

    Any Ideas?

***Fixed! Although I replugged the O2 sensor a couple times, this time i sprayed some WD-40 - Miracle worker it is!!***

On another note, anyone know what is that rubber outlet in the stock airbox? It goes nowhere.

  13. Hey all found this on ebay, its a cheap rear boot lip. Obviously not OEM but may be good once painted.

Cant complain too much $50 delivered!

Anyone try it out? or would??

im looking at buying the same one... seemed pretty good for the price. its only like $50 lost if it is a heap of junk...

let me know how you go :D

Primer it, give a little sanding to smooth it out. Then a nice paint job I dont see why it wouldnt work well?

    You can go first! :D

  14. Hey mate,

Fair enough! I thought thats what you meant but like I mentioned, I didn't think you would have any probs as you weren't dropping to the deck!

So make sure that you post up pics with ya new wheels!( I always look forward to seeing what guys have gone with on their IS's)! Did you go with the 18's or 19's??

For sure will post a pic or two after its lowered. I went for 18's as the wheels I wanted only came in 18 or 20. Wanted 19's really, but it still looks hot and I saved $$ - also didnt want the fully sick look

  15. Hey Dom,

Im not sure what Pedders are telling you, but what do you mean when you refer to the off-set being an issue. We must remember that you are only going to drop it about 30mm. You still have ample clearance! I personally would go the other way and do the wheels first! Atleast you can see where you are at!!

Mate, please explain more so I can understand you concern!!

    Hey mate

I meant offset of the wheels, some people get the wrong offset, then when it come to lowering they cant go down cause it will hit the guards.

Anyway I got my wheels on Sat +45 offset and got good space. So if pedders is a 1.5" drop (38mm) then it should be fine - but Im just unsure whether to go for Pedders 38mm drop or Kings 30mm drop?? Pedders are progressive on the rear, whereas Kings are not.
