  1. Cool ,

Hey will the gs wheels fit.

Is the offset correct and wheels size. any one guess the profile and the with ie 245 rear 235 front?

He is aking better money and I prefer 17eens for the better ride to the 18eens

Normal specs for the GS 225/50 R17 (front at least), not sure if staggered at the rear

  2. Thats absolutely right. You won't get the chopped look from the springs unless you do literally chop them. Or you go with coilovers that is!! What size wheels have you got??

The Teins are currently at Fulcrums for $560. Thats not fitted though. Like I said, a little harsh on the ride side of things. Someone I remember on this forum said that they were extremely happy with the Kings. Can't remember who though!! ;)

I got the standard 16's! haha

but im planning to go 18 or 19 afterwards - want to lower first to ensure i get the correct offset, Pedder's also agreed that springs should be first as they had seen many bad offsets whereas they couldnt lower the car

  3. Hi mate,

I don't know much about either of the locally made springs. That is, spring rates etc. I do know that the Kings are popular, but im pretty sure that this is the case due to the pricing more so then quality. I would like to hear from anyone that has these installed though to see what you guys think. How much were you quoted for the springs?? Personally I would stick with the popular springs like the Teins, Eibachs, and for the less savage drop, the F-Sports.(About the 1" mark).

As for the quoted drops, what are you after??? The 30mm is the most common drop that you will get from any of the popular springs. If you are just after a nice looking drop, that would be my recom!!! The Tein S-techs give that type of drop, but they have a slightly harsh rate. Still, being in a 250 with them on, I liked the ride. The drop looked cool. Check out the post that I started with the comparisons. You will see QQQ's (Eibachs drop) and Ilv's (Teins drop).

    Kings about $500, Pedders $600

All supplied, fitted and 4 wheel alignment.

not sure about 30 or 38mm drop, want a good sporty look but not that chopped look, then again the chopped look would be in the 2-3" drops?

  4. Hey guys for any one that has upgraded there genuine Lexus wheels. I have factory 16" wheels and would like either the 18/17,

please let me know if there is something sitting in the garage.

Good luck, ive been trying to locate some as well - even tried a wrecker who was selling a whole damaged car - but he wouldnt trade the wheels for mine plus $$

Was this the one currently on Ebay if so I also called hime,

But yeah he would not split. :)

Yeah thats the one on Ebay recently!

  5. Hey Dom! (Guys, if I get your names wrong, I apologise up front! Let me know. It feels weird addressing you guys by the nicknames)!!

Anyway, to your question. I must admit that I wasn't too sure exactly what size the IS-f was running. I did know that they were 19's so I quickly ran down to the office car park and checked.

The fronts are 225/40/19's and the rears are 255/35/19's. I will say, really nice wheels!!

As for your wheel sizes, entirely upto you. 18's are a great compromise and a safe bet. By this i mean, you have the ride comfort, easy wheel clearance, and relatively well priced rubber. The 235's as you mentioned are a safe bet although you can go wider out rear if you wanted to. Most of the guys in Aus you will read are on 18's although from what I can gather alot more are now moving towards 19's.

A couple of guys like QQQ switched long ago. Again, 19's look awesome, especially if you are going dished. 18's in my opinion are a bit small for a non "full faced" rim. Obviously ride comfort changes though. I'd say most of the guys that stay with the xx/40/18's do so due to ride comfort. Correct me if im wrong guys.

Again, read through the posts and see what the other guys are doing. You might choose 20's like DansLex!!

Whilst talking about Danslex, "Dan", just saw the pic you posted on the track. I can definately feel what you are saying now with the Pearl white and dark tints. Those wheels would look pretty hot!!

    Later fellas! ;)

True about dished looking smaller, Id be happy with the standard 18" sport wheels but cant find any around!

Just thinking if a 45 series tyre for the 18s is more suited than 40 series, since many smaller cars roll in 40 series 18"s

No way in the world do I want massive rims with that fuller sick look, just a good mix of sport and class to get away from the Yaris wheels the prestige comes with.

ISF wheels are hot, doubt anyone is selling them! :P

    Dom

  6. Just ring your dealer and ask them to look it up for you. When I had my service done last week, the guy had a quick look at my car's history on their computer and said that I still had some recall work not done on my car (including the brake caliper job, my car's build date is 01/06). Got it sorted there and then. Best to ring them up to be 100% sure.

May give them a call , even though Im not going to service it there...

My disc rotors are soon in need of machining, and the cars only done 29k! - would it be to do with the calipers?
