  1. You might want to have a look at your air flow sensor, give it a quick spray with electrical cleaning fluid. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to do.. at least you'll be able to rule that out quickly.
  2. I've always run Mobil 1 in my previous cars, until I switched to Motul 8100 Turbolight. Can't recommend them enough, they're the recommended oil for Porsches and Nissan GTRs. I don't think it hurts to run it in cars which aren't as highly strung as these, heck I even run this in the daily Corolla.. given the service intervals are around 10,000kms you don't have to do it very often anyway.
  3. Noticed the total system output was 134hp.. or around 100kw (same as the current Prius). Sounds too low given all the extra weight a full decked out lexus will incur. Give it another 30-40kw and i'd be sold.
  4. :) He's obviously having a lend... 8th gear beating a F430 on a running start, hardly going to happen.
  5. ooo.. you got the new F-sport pack? Do show, i'm thinking of picking one of these up myself.
  6. Nice, got pics? And was it hard to get it engineered through regency?? btw, I'm from Adelaide too !
  7. But the IS already got it's facelift in late 09... surely they won't do another one so soon?
  8. I'd agree with you there ldc. IS250 for 320 money, and a whole lot better optioned and slightly better performance. I wouldn't be too fussed about 0-100 times... if you wanted a quick car you'd get a quick car, but trust me you'll tire of driving a 300kw beast around traffic every day... and all the negative attention it gets too.. been there done that.
  9. I asked my Toyota mechanic friend of mine about this the other day. He said to date there hasn't been any runaway acceleration issues affecting any Australian vehicle sold, and did also confirm that he thought the initial reaction (remove floor mats) by Toyota in the USA was time stalling while they found a solution to the run away acceleration problem. Anyhow, in summary he said he has not received a bulletin for this issue in Australian IS250s, Avalons, Camrys, Rav4s, etc. Phew.
  10. Big fan of Autoglym too.. as you say, pricey though. You guys should also look at meguires #7 show car glaze before waxing.. looks awesome when you polish > glaze > wax on a dark car.
  11. Hi guys, First post, but I saw this thread and thought i'd chime in and say hello. Future lexus owner, but have had a couple of cars which I used to take to show and shines before. If you're after a decent product that's relatively inexpensive, definately go the meguires. Meguires Tech Wax 2.0 works great, I had a few complaints about the original Meguires Tech Wax 1.0 which didn't seem to harden all that well and most of the wax was gone by about week two of driving. But speaking to the australian rep about TW2.0 they've addressed this issue now with a new formula and they sent me a few test bottles.. I can definately say they have improved on it. I'd say for a graphite car (or any dark car), go the Tech Wax 2.0, and grab a bottle of Quik Detailer for between-waxes. Gold Class soap also seems to still do a decent job for washing. For white cars, check out Poorboys Natty Wax, highly recommended. Show us pics when you're done detailing won't you? :)
