  1. Apologies to all for my absence,=. I was hospitalised several times over these lsst onths. ] will ask the technician if a link can connect with the trigger unlocking the car so the Po 40 will alse respoond to the unlock pulse. Did you try the Po-40 in a car? It should work. (Po-40 now $110 inclusive of GST nd local email. Michael 0418229934

  3. I like the way that the paddles are always active. A great feature! I've investigated whether its possible to do it with an aftermarket kit – but unsuccessful. In my is250, I have become used to doing a sequence movement of the gearstick so that I move straight into sports mode. So, car in Neutral/Park/Reverse: Lever back to the stopper <Drive> Lever right <Sports> Lever Up (twice) <6th Gear> Then, the paddles are available to me at all time.
  4. The issue of the power windows losing the auto function has now become a part of the Po-40 installation manual. It is a thirty-second job to reinstate the auto function. I think it has more to do with the time that the connector is off the circuit than simply just taking the connector off. Certainly if the car goes in for a longish service and the battery is disconnected, you can be sure that the windows will need to be re-initialised
  5. Attention moderators: If you need to move or delete this message/thread – I respect your decision. We have just installed the Po-40 Folding Mirror Kit into the (beautiful) current model IS250. It is substantially different from the past. Unfortunately the car had to go back to the owner before I had an opportunity to photo document the installation and to do some testing. All these things are needed so I can create an installation manual for others to follow. I am happy to donate a full Po-40 kit subject to the following conditions: Only one kit on offer Light coloured interior preferred You need to bring the car to Rose Bay (near Bondi, NSW) OR I will come to your Sydney area. (Because of a medical condition) you and/or your friend(s) need to do the physical installation under my supervision. You give me enough time to do photographs etc (30-60 minutes) If you are interested, please either reply in this thread, phone me, SMS, Skype, etc Michael (0418 229 934)
  6. No, I don't agree. With your modification, anyone walking past the car will trigger the mirrors to unfold. Because the car will remain locked, the car will not be issuing the auto-lock command – so, the mirrors will stay out there unfolded (and vulnerable to damage by any passing yahoo).

I brought up this subject with the Bangkok engineer over the weekend and he commented that it would be easy to configure the Po-40 Folding Mirror Kit to do exactly as the Hyundai does – but this would mean that the car would be unlocking when you wandered past the car. They have no plans to change the Po-40 kit to do this. Michael

  9. That is an interesting concept. The car does sense your proximity because the puddle light in the door handle comes on whenever you are near. On the other hand I often walked past my car on the way to my garage store and maybe I don't want the car unlocked just because of walked past it. (The car is set to auto lock if I don't open the door – but that may not be the ideal). My initial impression is – what's the big deal, pressing the button to unlock the car? Do we really need the car to sense we are close by and always make the assumption we want the car unlocked? I suppose that all it would take would be for the Po-40 Folding Mirror Kit to draw its trigger connection from that sensing circuit rather than from the central locking system. I will however, ask the question of the engineer in Bangkok. Michael
  10. I'm looking forward to meeting members at Sydney city Lexus and will donate one P0-40 Folding Mirror Kit for the executive officers of the LOC to award as a prize on the evening. I am also happy to offer another free Po-40 Folding Mirror Kit that you (or a friend) are prepared to install on the night. I will be there to supervise your work so that the correct procedures are followed and the installation is completed perfectly. (Medically, I can't do the installation for you but I will supervise you!) The deal is that you need to register your interest before the night and the committee of the LOC will make a decision which owner and car will get to do the installation on the night.   11. Hi Kyo (and Dori*mon)... I'll respond to your PM as requested, but would like to bring folk up-to-date with the Po-40 progress. A ) Yes, it is still available and selling well. B ) I have now sold into the UK (where I have local supplies for shorter delivery times into European countries). Most sales going into the is220d (diesel), C ) Other countries are Ireland, France and Rumania where the cars were LHD. D ) Sold a few in Europe for the Lexus rx300 where a kit is fitted to each front door! E ) Lexus Chatswood are instaling the Po-40 for clients and offering 12 month warranty on the Po-40. F ) I am hoping to hear about a Melbourne dealer being on board this week. G ) Results have been good with only one kit being returned claimed to be faulty but it got lost in postge to Bangkok before we could verify the issue. H ) Self installers have sometimes struggled to get their kit going but a call to me or a last ditch exchange with the Bangkok expert has fixed all problems. I ) Issues with the current model is250/350 has been traced to a poor 12v supply in the door, Connecting to a different 12v bus has seemed to have fixed the isue. J ) Almost every self-install problem has been wrong wires connected. Complicated because the isX50 range has three different colour schemes in the loom controlling the mirrors and windows and two different colour schemes controlling the Lock/Unlock function. (That MUST cause headaches for the spares department). K ) Getting the plastic liner off the door remaines the self-installer's biggest problem! Once inside the door, things are pretty strraight forward. As always, I'm happy to chat about the Po-40. My mobile is 0418 229 934.   12. Well done Panther... Some of the late/current models of the IS250 have caused us some concern. We normally connect the Red Po-40 lead to the 12v rail located in the Connector #2 on the mirror switch contol panel. We use the Blue or Black wire on that connector. HOWEVER, these newish models need to source their 12v from the a more robust supply in the door puddle light (Panther says the Blue cable on the puddle lamp). Panther's wring work was 100% correct but a more robust 12v (from the puddle lamp) made the difference. It does take a certain amount of bravery to pull off the door skins. Lexus really have a tought fit. Next car I will try pulling the liner from the top right left side as "discovered" by Panther.
  13. That's good news. - thanks for posting. For my records, which plug connection are you talking about? I presume it was one of the plugs that join to the window switch assembly on your driver's door (front or rear plug???) I'm curious thinking that your system was working correctly when you left the installer's premises. What changed afterwards? Regards, Michael
  14. I have a response from the technical people in Bangkok who beiieve that the mirror closer has been incorrectly installed and/or other equipment has been installed at the same time. They say: <<< <<< i think there is wrong connection - he tells that he hears clicking noise from my box (Po-40), there is no beep output signal in the door panel but there is turn signal in each door (to power the turn signal lamp in the mirror). he should recheck his wire i don't understand clearly there is something sound strange and conflict I'm not sure the root cause of this error. The beep sound is used for many function waring , door lock confirmation ,etc in my opinion the customer should - recheck the wiring - remove the control unit and test it - bypass the system to original and check his car He posted the problem in the forum. i don't know why he didn't ask you on the phone. Did he install other accesories into his car? >>>>>>>>
  15. Sounds to me lke somtthing has been installed incorrectly. I would: Check the correct wires are selected for the mrror kit. Look at whatever else was done to the car. I'm happy to run a tester over the installation and maybe swap mirror kits. Keep me in the loop. Michael
