Hi guys, I am in the hunt for a new car shortly and been looking at the Lexus GS300's. For my budget I can get a 05-08 with about 100k's on the clock. I am keen to know how good and reliable these are especially at this age milage and any known issues I should know about? I have read through here and I did read about some having issues with spot welds in the dash and making a rattle (sounds bad for any car this). Also can most Toyota dealers able to service them if required as I live in the country? Any info advice on this model greatly appreciated.

Hi guys, I am just introducing myself to you all. I am thinking of getting a Lexus and drive a Corolla 2011 Ascent Sport and a 2008 Navara at the moment. I am in the process of selling the Navara and possibly buying a IS 250 or GS300. So thought I would join you guys and learn as much as I can about these 2 Lexus that I can. I have previously owned a BMW 735i and like my large saloons so liking the GS300 for this reason.

I am also looking at either of these but probably more around the 2005-06 years. Sounds like they are both pretty tough and reliable what is good. What I would like to know is more about the servicing costs of these cars compared to other luxury cars like BMW and Mercedes? Most of the cars I am looking at are around the 10 year/ 120K mark so wondering what things need to be taken into account at this stage of the cars life?
