hi all I'd like to change some of the 'settings' on the RX350 such as: 1. making all the doors open with one press of the remote 2. maybe making the sunroof not open with all the windows? 3. disabling the steering wheel movement when the engine's turned off there are a few other things which I can't remember right now! THe manual says to see the dealer, but I was wondering whether it's possible to do this at home via some secret combo of key turns or something? If done at the dealer, is it something they could do free, or only as part of a regular service? thank you Satz

Hi all Interesting thought process that I went through... Had a mazda cx7 which I felt was too heavy, lacked power and had poor AC. Thought a small fast car would suit me well. Got a 3 door golf gti with dsg gearbox....great car...but...not for long travel , nor for getting kids in and out of the back seat! Then started looking at 4 door performers.... Spent lots of time with these cars. Finally finding it hard to decide, made a spreadsheet of 25 criteria that I weighted against the five finalists.. The lexus came out on top numerically though I had test driven it the least of all the cars...as there just werent any for sale in canberra. After owning it for 1 week, I already had to use the breakdown service when it wouldnt start today. Flat battery...probably as a result of me cleaning the interior for 2 hours with radio and display screen on. Wish the car had more power or less weight! But hopefully the ac will be good!!! Paid 47500 before stamp duty and transfer fees. Cheers

hi all after about 8 months of testing various cars, such as Subaru WRX, VW R36, Ford G6E Turbo, Subaru Liberty GT and GOlf GTI, finally bought myself an 07 RX350 SL! A Graphite one with black interior. Drove it down from Sydney to Canberra yesterday Tyres had far less tread than the dealer described, so it looks like I'll need to replace them before getting the RWC done Any suggestions for a tyre that's quiet on the b-grade highways? It's got Michelins on there right now, which were fairly quiet on the various sections of road from Sydney to Canberra yesterday! Look forward to chatting much more on this forum best wishes Satz

hi all could someone please confirm whether the 07 model RX 350 has Xenon lamps only for High Beam? Or is it only for low beam? According to Redbook it's only for High Beam, which seems a bit odd, as other cars seem to have it for low-beam only... (or both) thank you

Carsales is definetely the way to go...although its cost is going up every few months by the looks of it! Wouldn't waste time sticking the sticker on your window. That's more of an ad for Carsales, than for your car really... :)

can you operate the onscreen ventilation/ audio settings while on the move?

Richarda did you mean that Lexus would install the DVD free (if you paid for the DVD itself), or is the whole update free? My local Lexus service place quoted $350 for the map update. I didn't ask whether that included installation (which seems rather easy anyway) regards Satish

Hi all I spoke to Lexus Australia yesterday who confirmed that the engine cover was 'optional'...which seems a bit strange.. Sorry for more questions, but I cannot actually physically see one of these cars unless I drive 3 hours! 1. are the overhead controls (eg sunroof) illuminated at night? 2. is the ignition key a folding one? (I seem to recall that it isn't) 3. is the auto-wiper speed sensitive? many thanks again

hi all have been looking at buying a used (07 model) RX 350 and was hoping owners could please chip in with info on the following: 1. should the engine have a cover on the right hand side, above the battery? I thought there was meant to be a full cover, but the car I looked at only had a black plastic cover on the left hand side (and of course the silver coloured cover directly over the engine)...but the right side was 'exposed' 2. MP3 playback - does the Mark Levinson unit show MP3 titles/artist/etc on the main display, or on the narrow 'radio' display? thank you in advance cheers Satz

hi all looking to buy a used RX350 (perhaps 2006/07 model) Could owners please let me know their experiences with the AC? haven't had a chance to try this car in summer, and the weather here's been pretty cool now. Is the AC effective in cooling the car (front and rear) on the really hot days? (eg around 30-35c)? Also, if you have the AC switched off, does fresh , cool, air still come through (on a cool day of course), or does it get heated? many thanks and hope to be an owner soon
