  1. Best bet would be Yahoo Japan for JDM non-HID black. If you want to upgrade to HID you will have to source and pull apart IS300 lenses I believe (plenty of write-up's available). Note that you may need to install the windscreen washers also (depends on your state rules on HID's, not that it stops the average Commondore driver).
  2. The 4GR engine is fine, 100k is nothing in Toyota engine terms - it's just a bit overwhelmed by the sheer weight of the IS250 and fuel economy suffers accordingly. I'd strongly recommend taking a IS350 for a drive comparison, the larger engine is not likely to have been worked so hard and will last longer.
  3. >Brake pedal feel and ABS both work as stock unlike 4 piston conversions. The brake pedal feel and ABS work fine with 4 piston upgrades. I've been running TT 4-pistons for a few years and have never had a problem. Even 2IS owners can run them with no ABS issues.
  4. You could try Toyots r us, they have an IS350 they are wrecking. Ph. 9315 1500, based in Sunshine.
  5. The prices are meant to be going DOWN with the Japanese FTA. I believe one of the members on here posted the revised pricing not too long ago. For your situation, if you have it in writing on the price (with no caveats in the fine print), then legally the dealer has to honour the contract at the agreed price. If they don't, contact the ACCC.
  6. Try your local second hand wheel/tyre dealer, they generally either get them from trade-in's or wrecked cars. And as Lexus provide a full set of 5 with the spare, they should be willing to sell you one.
  7. Be careful on eBay, plenty of sellers listing IS250 brakes as IS350 because they are interchangeable.
  8. Plenty on eBay : item #191673705936 as an example. The trick will be to find someone who uses the Global Shipping Programme so the freight rates are cheaper than a private seller. I'm actually doing the same thing at the moment for Subaru 4-pots for one of my other cars, as the local price is about 50% more than the UK. I wouldn't waste your time looking on eBay Australia, IS350's are pretty uncommon here and finding one in a JY will be tough.
  9. 1.2-1.5 for IS-F or for IS350 ? Supra TT fronts are about a third of that.
  10. These look awesome on 1IS's B)
  11. There's a IS-F front brake set on my.is for $2k US... If that's too expensive, have you looked at Supra TT brakes in place of IS350's ? I believe they are *almost* the same (smaller disc size on the TT's).
  12. Random hesitation, have a read of this thread (my IS300 is the same) : http://my.is/forums/f88/mod-throttle-cable-spacer-245517/ The main issues I have with the 1IS are niggling - the boot that falls on your head (due to Toyota's policy of using the thinnest gauge steel possible to save a dollar), the PITA fresh/recirculating button that ALWAYS changes back to recirculating when you get in the car, etc. But the styling is timeless, the size is compact without being small, the handling is arguably the best Lexus has produced to date outside of the LF-A...
  13. I was surprised to hear the 1G-FE was that difficult - I know the 2JZ (IS300) is a PITA in both RHD and LHD form, but that wasn't totally unexpected given the shoehorning that occurred to fit the engine in the engine bay. Like you, I came from a Corolla and that was dead easy to change (4A-FE). I even went to the trouble of ordering a "special" oil wrench from my local Toyota dealership (Yarra Valley Toyota), but they never bothered to let me know if/when it arrived. This is a dealership that doesn't even know how to screw a sump plug on correctly... ..
  14. Welcome to the 1IS family, they ALL are a bitch to change the oil filter.
