Thanks - same price as Sewell's and a set i found on Ebay (around $1000), im just trying to find the cheapest shipping
-
try sewell, i know thats where many members got their parts
but if want anything else from them, make sure u do it at the same time so shipping is cheaper (maybe a GFX kit? lol)
heres a link

Noooo me going on the Sewell site is a baddd idea, I'd be a kid in a toy shop and just want to get everything.. Maybe when I save a bit more, I might just stick to the rims for now haha.
-
Nah I have a thing about staying with factory rims - i like my lexus being a pureblood haha..
And k2sty1 the thought is there :)
How much should shipping a set from the us (safely) be?
-
I've been looking at the 18" g-spider rims for a while now, been pretty keen on landing myself a set. Then I came across the photo below the other day and nearly died, now im not sure if when i get a pair to paint them or leave them silver..opinions?? by the way, my sport luxury is onyx black inside and out, just because it makes a difference. (too much black?)

You need to be careful when playing with modding lights and anything electrical.
I've heard it can be tricky ;)
im not brave enough.. as good as it looks.
-
true, but what about when you're parked haha? i was thinking it might be possible to semi tuck them under that section where the foglights are, so they're mostly hidden but the light still reflects out when they're on.. that's kinda what it looks like in the clublexus video. im pretty keen to put them on mine, they look so good. or you could be a hero and go all out and put actuators on them to make them slide out.

found the topic
have a look
look's pretty damn good to me
looks outstanding. not sure how it would look if they're turned off though, doubt it would be very conspicuous. plus issues with fixing it in place and wiring? all of the DIY LED strips i have seen just look tacky and a bit too try hard, those ones though i really like. but hey that's just me.

i have 4500k for my fogs
there not real HID's just the Phillips Crystal Vision
i never used my fog lights for what there meant to be used for, and i just have em on most of the time (i reckon itlooks better at night)
you can tell the difference between the stock ones, as there kind yellowish
they match my 4300k HID lows pretty good and with the white LED parkers i have, makes it a nice match at night, the whole front of the car is bright white
I don't think anyone uses their fog lights for what they're meant for.. i was thinking of just replacing the fog lights with LED's and trying to claim them as DRL's (i don't need the brightness of HIDs or even halogens, they're purely for the look.) Especially handy if jolly mr policeman decides he doesn't like them on in non "adverse weather conditions" but sadly i doubt i'd get away with that either.

iv seen hid's put into foglights
So have I, looks really good. That's why I'm keen to do it too.

Sorry to dig up an old post but I was thinking about replacing the UGLY fog lights with whiter bulbs and thought this be the place.. Anyone have advice on this? My main concern is that they won't be able to serve their intended purpose if i replace them with whiter bulbs, but then again i wouldn't ever need them to serve that purpose anyway?

I did my parking lights with 9 LED SMDs off eBay, not sure what size it claimed but i think they're all pretty much the same. better have some skinny fingers for the install...

Please refer to the second post at the top of this thread. ;)
not much use to him now, is it?

as seen on the F sport 2IS
those wheels were only sold on the US market
I stand corrected, the only ones i was aware of (and the ones i thought you were talking about) were either the rims standard on the new IS F sport, or the rims that came on the old sport model. To me they just looked like bad copies of either one of those.
-
Yeah Terry that's exactly what I'm talking about, sorry for any confusion. Yours are nice :)
-
What exactly look try hard?
-
They just don't look like either the f sport rims or the sports rims that came on the old sport model..

theres a set of F sport 19" wheels for sale on ebay
I think i found the ones you're talking about.. 19 inch "f sport" rims. They're fakes (and pretty bad ones at that), especially for $2700. Damn.

Aren't the F Sport rims 18's?

1. I doubt it. You can update the maps to current ones though.
2. VAIS SL2i-UP does exactly what you need. I have one and love it.
Thanks for the help. Where's best to get the VAIS SL2i-UP done? and for around how much?

ALSO, (forgive me for being a bit keen on the questions, i'm new...)
1. Is it possible to get the new sat nav software on IS250's running the pre mid-09 software?
2. What's the best way to get ipod/iphone integration so i can change songs via buttons on the wheel and possibly song title/artist come up on the sat nav screen?
Thanks for any help :)

Black,
Like you I was interested in getting my hands on some DRL's and retrofitting them to my car, but after a little investigating i came to the unhappy conclusion that in addition to the ridiculous price you'll have to pay to get it done properly, you're bound to run into some problems. So i went for the easy option and just replaced my parking lights with SMD LED's, and i have to say i was pleasantly surprised. It cost me $15 for the two on Ebay and took about 15 minutes to install myself (instructions are in your owner's manual). While they're not as bright as the proper DRL's, they look awesome and still stand out during the day, and are well worth the tiny cost and time i put into them. I've uploaded some pics of my current setup, unfortunately i don't have any old shots of the original parking lights for a comparison, but i can assure you its a lot better. They blend in much better with the Xenon's too, if you're planning on replacing the halogens with HID's (strongly suggest this, i love my Xenons)
Hope it helps,
Ralph.

I've put a fair bit of thought recently into looking at some rims for my IS 250 (currently sitting on stock 17's, which I don't mind) I'm thinking predominantly of 18's (19's and up give too harsh of a ride), and want to stick with Lexus OEM's. Problem is there that they are crazy expensive from the dealer. Has anyone found themselves a good set of 4 for around $1000? if so, post pics :)
