Atlantis you said you were running 20's with no problem, what offset do you have, as I can get the following vossen wheels in 20" with custom gold finish for the same price as the SSR's
-
@Atlantis
Ok so thats a better rim combo to go for then? It is strange that its not like that but the rims re just so damn sexy!
hmm ok so aslong as its done properly than should be fine.
I know, I appreciate your help, I'm new to modding this car anyway, bit different to the hilux and skyline I had :)
Yeah I'm trying to work out all the measurements needed.
Would love to have the camber and look of this:
http://www.stancenation.com/2011/09/10/we-love-guam/
But our roads arent the best so :(
However did find these two links which have same size rims with different offset on ISF brakes so should fit with the 350 no?

@?UESTLOVE
Can you now? Well any help you can provide will be absolutely greatly appreciated thanks!
-
Ah ok then
Yeah I'm looking at these ones at the moment
http://www.automotivelightstore.com/2006-09lexusis250is350oraclehalokit.aspx
-
So definetly worth getting then?
Just having a look at them now, they come with the installation instructions?
Also what wire harness do you get?
Want these and then do the angel eyes mod like cevu had :)
-
Should be fine? Ok No the + 38 is only on the 19x8.0" and 19x9.5"
Might be a bit close? Should I go out and measure it to double check aswell? Because the plan is to put the IS350 brakes on aswell.
Yes +22, however on some of the auctions and the JDMConcept site it has an offset of +30, so aim for that?
So roll the guard and go for slightly bigger tyres say 245, maybe 255? Whats so bad about rolling the guards?
Yes the roads up here are quite terrible so the last thing I want to do is pop a bead or crack a rim.
Ok will do, thanks for the advice
Can get the wheels from this mob
http://www.jdmconcept.com.au/index.php?option=com_jdm&p=detail&cid=48 - works out to be 3100, delivered to me
who are the same mob advertising them on ebay.
waiting on quote form import monster and jesse streeter
Also getting the tanabe sustec pro five and a body kit, so in which order should I get them?
I think the body kit/ coilovers than the rims/brake so as to be able to know how much room I have
Opinions?
-
Sounds beasty as!! Nice colour too.
-
@Atlantis
Ok 19X8.5" +42 for the fronts and hmm to wide eh? Might have to flare the guards, I just want it
flush looking but we will see how we go.
Hmm I know it wont be very legal but safe? I'll look into the pro's and cons of stretching tyres and then make my decision based on that.
Ok so why can't you say about the rears?
@334mm
Haha I feel the same
Really? I'll look into it :)
-
@Atlantis
Ok then.
Ok so if I go 8.5” than I can choose between:
19x8.5 +22 Offset or +42 or
18x8.5 +30, +40, +48 or +52
And stick with 225 for the tyres.
Ok 10.5” is to wide and 10 with between +40 – 50,
The only options they have for the SSR wheels are
19x10.5 +15 or +22
18x10.5 +15 or +25
Yeah I will look into what other people are running and see if I can’t find someone with similar size wheels and set-up.
@334mm
Hmm what you are saying is very different to Atlantis so who to believe, do you know what I mean?
So with your advice I have these choices.
19x9.5 +22, +30, +38 or
18x9.5 +12, +22, +28, +35, +40
Ok so 10.5 +22 should be ok with 235 tyres.
Ok ill look into nice wheel nuts.
Yeah, I am liking it too
I’m Just after nice looking rims not racing ones or anything to fancy.
Yeah ‘baller’ Look all the way!!! Nice smooth look, shaved door handles anyone??
I just want something a little different that stands out, very hard to do in this scene with everyone else having done so much already
-
Emailed the ebay seller and he has the following rims:
they are:
19x9.5 +22 and 19x10.5 +15
The asking price is 3,080 plus 95 postage.
Is it worth it?
If I am going with 19" then I can only choose from the following
19x9.5 +22 or +30 or +38
19x10.5 +15 or +22
thoughts everyone?
-
@k2sty1
Ok 19's it is then!
Fair point, it is going to be a fair amouunt of coin spent on them, might aswell go all out.
I can handle the ride being not as good, who can say no to SEXINESS
Nice, well they are an awesome set of wheels so go for it.
@mrbbqwer
this is the quote from jesse streeter
If shipped by Sea Post (shipping time 6-9 weeks)
Rough Total in JPY: ¥185,890
Rough TOTAL in AUD: $2,495 *depending on exchange rate.
Rough costs on that would be something like this...
Cost of item ¥146,660
Ship item to me ¥0
Bank fee to pay seller ¥630
My commission ¥10,200
Shipping to Aus, Europe or US via Sea Post assuming 11.0 kg x4 ¥28,400
* (I could be off with the weight but what ever it costs to send Ill
pass on to you)
I havent forgotten the extra fee's, yeah I don't think so either.
Well I have a mate who works at the local Jax so tyres can be easy to get as a group of us usually buy in bulk for the drags/burnouts.
Again installation, cost me a carton of beer so 50 bucks :)
Hmm I didnt think of that, I will do that. Thanks, what a great idea
Yeah fair point. Makes things easier
Oh and old man works for star track express so can organise free if not heavily discounted freight for me!!
-
@Atlantis
Well if you can lower it two inches on 20" then I'll be fine with 18".
@mrbbqwer
They are dead sexy, I have pretty much decided they will be mine. Ah ok then, 5k you think? Well the quote I recieved from jesse streeter was 2,495 shipped to brisbane
still waiting to hear back from import monster just to compare. Jeez what tyres are you putting on them? 888's :)
Hmm 18" or 19"
Well what would you prefer more?
-
@334mm
Ok 9 and 10 it is :)
Haha I'm sure you can organise yours to be 10.
Ah ok, well I'll look into that aswell, Ok then got it.
Ok then
Thanks
@Atlantis
Wow, that big and no problems, is your car lowered but? Yes I am starting to see that its all about the offset.
@mrbbqwer
Unsure at this time, but now that I decided on the offset, will fire off some emails and get some quotes. Will keep you updated
Thanks for your imput with those wheels of ebay
-
Ah ok so to small than? Got it 8.5 minimum :)
Hmm ok then. Hmmm which of these would you recommend?
I think the 9 and 10 sounds good
As stated, I will be running the tanabe coilovers and the IS 350 brakes, so trying to
get everything researched so as to not buy something that wont fit :)
thanks for all your help
-
Ah ok that makes more sense.
Hmm well how much wider can I go? The car will be lowered with the tanabe coilovers so??
I'm not the most informed on this, don't fully understand the offets and everything like that
-
So the info I have got, I am looking at the following specs
Front: 18x8 with +38 Offset
Rear: 18x9 with +40 Offset
can anyone see a problem with these specs fitting over the IS 350 brakes??
Found this on the IS 350 specs
- Front brake rotor size: 334x30 mm
- Rear brake rotor size: 310x18 mm
-
Yes they look quite nice, but they just aren't the same lol. They only seem a little bit cheaper but once you factor in shipping then I dont think they will work out much cheaper.
Ah ok then, What do you mean by very sketchy? Yes I know thats why i like japanese parts.
Thanks, I love the Advan Racing RS-D aswell, I was thinking of gettins something with a nice deep dish but decided against it
Anyway I will drop jesse a line and see how we go
-
Ah ok then, what are they like? Where are they based out of? Anyone had previous dealings with them?
-
nice, thanks for the link.
No not super agressive, I would like to go some forged deep dish but a tad on the expensive side for me so.
Ok well I'll try and find someone who is running a similar set-up
I know they are great!
I'm looking around at the moment, but thinking of using import monster, used them quite regularly for my aristo and mates use them for their supra's and skyline's. Haven't had a problem yet so
-
Hey finally decided on getting a set of rims.
http://www.ssr-wheels.com/wheels/typef_1516171819.asp
I am after 18" Flat black ones, however am unsure on what offset to get for both the rear and the front?
Also will these fit with the is350 brakes on the car?
How do i find this info out for myself as to maybe not post things like this in future that may have been posted alread?
I do search but is there any other sites or forumns i should be on?
thanks for any help provided
Fanel
-
Ah ok then well that makes sense, yeah i will do.
Ok then, I am looking for those style of rims, will shop around and see if I can get any info on the quality of the rims and website.
Its just a prestige.
To be honest i have no idea about this TMPS so.
Ok then, should I have started a new thread for asking these kind of questions or?
Don't want to step on any toes or 'crap' up other peoples threads, kind of new to this whole forumn thing. thanks for your help Atlantis
-
@Atlantis Hey quick question, is your car lowered, if so how much?
Looking at these rims currently, whats the go with the TMPS? Just in us cars or in aus, i have a 2008 IS250 so. Also anyone else bought off tirerack? whats yours opinions on them or is there a better place in aus?
Cheers
-
Ok thanks for the info, i am trying to read all the old posts so as to not ask to many stupid or repeated questions
-
Ah ok then thanks and how big and wide on the back?
-
So what specs are you looking at for not needing to roll the guards or modify? Ie Rim Size - 18's, what off sets and tyre size are standard or are as big as you can go? Any help or advice or even links would be great

Thanks
Figured might as well go with the Vossens, they are a nice size and have the required offset, plus they look nice and are the same price as the ssr's
According to the net and forumns they are a good set of wheels.
Thanks everyone for their help :)
