  1. Ah yes... one of the things I was worried about. Come a flat tyre, it would be an additional pain getting to your tools. Worse would be if you have a full boot on your trip. Excellent point!!
  2. Might have been for me (thanks Ian). I couldn't find a previous post when I was searching the forum. Maybe it's because I used the string: "boot liner". The 4 results that popped up didn't sound like what I was looking for.
  3. Not just that: if stock Lexus bulbs happen to wear off, it'll cost loads to replace =D
  4. Stuff from ebay are rarely perfect =) I'm sure you still got your money's worth (i hope?) To be honest, my $35 eBay HIDs are inconsistent in color temperature (i.e drivers side looks slightly blu-er), but then again, maybe it's just the angle I'm looking at (colour is not uniform across the projected beam).
  5. Hi folks, Just wondering if anyone actually bothered with a boot liner around here. I like the idea of having one in case of liquid spills and to preserve the boot's original carpet (i.e. anything happens, worst thing would be to dump the liner if I can't wash it clean) but does anyone actually have one (or did anyone NOT buy one for any reason) and give me a run down on its cons? I'm a little turned off with the idea since I won't be able to strap my cargo down (the rubber covers the cargo rings, right?). Thanks!
  6. Good to know that we Lexus drivers are so considerate towards to public =P Hmmm... And you are positive that your H11 sized globe fit smoothly without being crooked? Sounds like the focal length of your RHS compared to your LHS is inconsistent and a harsher image was projected out whereas the other one, the 'U' shape was out of focus so you couldn't really see it. Anyway can you repost your planning, esp that video part? Can't wait to see it =D
  7. Okay, this is my first time uploading a file. Hope it works. Since I was installing my filters on yesterday, I left 2 of my engine covers off, so fortunately I was able to take some useful images during lunch time. What exactly do you mean by 'adjustments'? Edit: Yes, I did fail my first uploading attempt lol Bolt removal for HID install.pdf
  8. As in I didnt need to unscrew anything =P Big edit: besides bolts, that is**** Ps: I used nothing more than a 10mm socket wrench to get to the lights. If you needed anything else, there's a chance that you may not need to =)
  9. Can you hold your project for a while? I'll take some pics or video because I really think you may be barking up the wrong tree there.
  10. Also that headlight level dial is near the boot open button. There is this scroll wheel thing.
  11. Um... Are you in Sydney? If not, I'll see if I can take some picture that is detailed enough. Really there wasn't anything difficult to take off and certainly nothing in an awkward position.
  12. Im on my phone ATM so there is no convenient way to paste a YouTube link, but if you search "is250 xenon" on YouTube, you should find a video tutorial by an Asian-American (lol that sounds so funny) that gives you a run down on how to fit it on. Watch the whole video and determine what applies to you in terms of AU/US engine layout. When I did mine, I ended up putting the ballasts at exactly where he put his (one under the air filter, the other next to the engine). FYI: the YouTube poster should be called "XenonSupply" or Something.
  13. Ok thanks =D It was originally a question my uncle asked because back when he swapped spark plugs himself on a very old vehicle, apparently there was a cable needed replacement from time to time.
  14. Also, how often do you guys replace the spark plug cables? Are they designed to run for the life of the car, or do we need to change them every now and then?
  15. Hmmm. I don't think we have the servo motors on the prestiges. Ah well... That the perks of the luxury model I guess...
  16. So you used credit card directly without PayPal, or did PayPal charge your card $xxUSD which translated into AUD from your bank?
  17. Gee I did not know that Chris. Thanks for the heads up. I'll give him a call tomorrow.
  18. Okay, looks like the so called Grade "A" service is just a standard oil change, oil filter change and general inspection around the vehicle. I've ordered some spark plugs online and I'll probably have to take it back to the service centre to get the rest of the stuff done as well. Lucky my car hasn't reached 90k just yet...
  19. I hope I don't get crucified for this one, but I admit that I'm guilty for getting my kit (shipped as well) for $35 off ebay =P Installed within a few hours (yes, I take my time). So far, so good. Love the colour. It's not the overdone purple (which, by the way, looks fantastic on pearl white IS250s), but just the very neutral white colour, only to complement its elegant looks.
  20. I have tried a similar product from ebay and I'm getting notable noise possibly from a switch mode power supply in the actual 12V connector as it stepped down to 5V (don't quote me on this one though). These ebay products work great directly from battery, but if you are running from external power, then it's not so great. Interestingly, powering one of them using the apple's ipod charger didn't show too much noise. I guess the output of the ipod charger is a bit cleaner. I suppose if you put a capacitor through the supply voltage, the noise might be less severe. Anyway, can you still find the Blackberry one for sale? I have been searching forever for it and I can't find it since it's a discontinued item apparently. I had to settle for a cheapo A2DP clip which took apart and mounted inside an ipod dock just for fun. I would gladly pay $100 since it actually connects automatically to your phone when you start it up (rather than having to 'connect' to it like the Belkin Aircast and most other bluetooth receivers).
