hey mate, just wondering how your car sounds with the holes in the airbox? worth doing? and would you know how it sounds compared to the f sport intake?

hey guys, has anyone ever fixed their stock sub? or know a way around to make it work? mine currently doesnt work, but just before went over a bump on the road and it turned on for about 5 secs and then turned off again! thats my first problem, the second is that it sounded like sh*t when it did turn on, so is it totally stuffed? when i arrived home i opened my boot and pretty much started bashing the grille for the sub in the boot with the music loud and bass on full, and it would turn on, and then off again, still sounding crap! hope someone has a bit of an answer for me, i want my sub back!! lol

thats what i plan to do, im not gonna spend ~650$ for the same sub, which will probably stuff up again once i start with my music :P but speaking of the stock sub, mine has officially died today, doesnt even make a sound! lol just a question about the rear door bottom speakers (ML Audio) do they produce bass? or is it only the front door bottom speakers that produce bass? does anyone know?

does your sub sound like its in pieces? or sounds very crap when bass hits? i dno if this will work for you, but today i was going through a cd and i had a pretty bassy song on it, and i thought "heh, wonder what this would sound like with this *BLEEP*ty sub" so i put it on and turned it up to about 45ish and it sort of fixed it! it still sounds a little bad, but NOWHERE near as what it did before, you can actually listen to a song without it sounding like its gonna blow up! and anytime it stuffs up again, i just turn it up a fair bit on any song and it sort of corrects itself =\ fixed, or not, i found a temporary fix to keep me sane, until i buy an aftermarket sub and amp to add :P if you try this, hope it works!

damn, the first one is actually really quiet! but i think ill keep that stock, but if i do manage to change my mind, i will def go for that one :) but at the moment, i got another problem lol my stock subby sh*t itself and sounds really crap so need to figure out a way to fix this haha

:( well guys, today my sub has officially turned to sh*t, and i literally have to listen to music with the bass nearly all the way down :( i tried to disconnect the subby from the amp but i dont think it can be done! then removed my back seats but couldnt remove the parcel shelf to do it through that -.- so i guess im stuck with bassless music for now! EDIT: Does anyone know how i can remove the parcel shelf? I have no idea how to do it! are there any DIY on here?

ill see how i go when service time comes :P at the moment just gonna focus on getting myself the pipe haha cant wait!

alright mad as, ive actually got a service coming up in a few weeks i think, or unless i reach the kms haha so i might just buy a fsport filter to chuck :) thanks for your help dude

thanks for the reply! *BLEEP* it really is cheap, i heard everyone say it wasnt anywhere near the fsport price haha so thats a plus. So if i just change the pipe i should get a bit of an intake sound? woo! hopefully within the next week ill order one for myself so looking foward to that! might even go through that site and see what else catches my attention :P Would changing the filter help with anything? to a k&n or the f-sport filter? or nothing?

hey guys, this has been driving me insane as i cannot find what im after! i have an 06 is250 SL and i think i want to put an intake on it :P but none of that open poddy stuff. ok few questions. 1. Where can you purchase the JoeZ intake pipe? Is it only online? can you buy it anywhere in Vic? 2. Where can i get the bottom piece of the F-Sport air box? Is there a part number that i can actually use to order from toyota/lexus in Aus? 3. Will drilling holes in the bottom piece of my current airbox be efficient? (ive seen so many threads about people doing it and 50% people say yes 50% people say no, i dont know what to believe!) 4. If i keep everything stock, and just install the JoeZ pipe, will there be any noticeable difference in sounds on acceleration? or does this occur from the opening in the airbox (f-sport or "drilled" bottom piece) 5. I want all your honest opinions, whats my best option for a nice acceleration tone, out of anything i have mentioned above, or something i havnt mentioned. Sorry for the long post, but i wanna clear this once and for all, because theres no clear answers (unless i couldnt find them -.-) and because i want to do something real soon to my car :D Thanks in advanced everyone!!!

how annoying is it? but everyone brags on about how good the ML system is, so if its normal behaviour, which i doubt though, i dont think people know what a good sub sounds like :P haha but nah, besides this little issue, im loving the ML :)

hey guys, ive got an is250 sports lux w/ the premium mark levinson sound system and i dont know if my sub is totally screwed or if thats how its supposed to be. On some songs it gives off good bass (or unless it from speakers on the doors) but some songs it sounds like the subby in the rear shelf is broken, or ripped and makes weird "non bass" sounds when bass hits. And this sounds is even louder when the volume is lower. Just tonight i shined a torch in the speaker grille and got a little look of the sub and it appears to be in one piece so i dont think its physically ripped around the edges. Anyone else have/had this problem? Know anything i can try to fix it? Is replacement my best option? or is this normal behaviour for the sub? Thanks heaps

speaking of wreckers, ive tried googling wreckers that have is250s but couldnt find anything! does anyone know places in VIC that have the 250's or places that get them in ?

No do not get it from the US, part number 5819253060 will not fit (dead pedal). The AU spec has alum pedal assembly 78110-53020 (best to check with Lexus parts) US has spec 78110-53040 / 78110-53041 Though US spec brake and gas will fit Edit: and I'm assuming you have an automatic because it's a sports lux. therefore the part numbers above are for automatic. yeah i have an automatic! and lucky you mentioned not to get the US one, because i was so close to buying some off ebay (US ones) Do you know the part numbers for the brake and dead pedal?

so changing the globes definitely fixed the problem? Yesterday my drivers side HID went out and came back on after i turned the lights off and back on. By any chance would you know the specs of the stock HID? the temp, brand etc. thanks

Hey guys, I have an is250 Sports Luxury, and ive just noticed that at night, my left HID light will randomly shut off. The way i turn it back on is to turn my headlights off and then back on, and then it works, but not really sure how long until it'll turn off again. Is this an easy fix? thanks!

thanks for your replies, in the meantime i got in contact with a Lexus dealer and they confirmed only the international models came with this feature, lol damn!
