  1. Car is SOLD
  2. Ladies and gents, Looking at upgrading my current ride and thus it's time to let my beloved Lexus go to good home. Details include - 2008 Is250 Sports Luxury ( includes Sat Nav, sunroof, heated/cooling seats, radar cruise control) Charcoal grey with black leather interior I'm the 2nd Owner Approx 95,000 klms Full Lexus log book service history. Major 90k service completed mid last year Rego till July 2017 19inch staggered Isf wheels fitted Lowered suspension by approx 1.5 inches (original springs available) OEM Isf rear spoiler, OEM sports pedals and OEM 2009/10 rear tails (original tail lights available) all professionally fitted by Chatswood Lexus Non smoker and totally accident free Well looked after car, always hand washed (by myself) Located - Inner West Sydney Enquiries and inspections all welcome Cheers and thanks for looking
  3. I just recently had my 75k service completed at Chatswood Lexus and just the service alone was no where near what you were quoted. I paid $688 which also included a courtesy vehicle delivered and picked back up from my workplace. This service completed also included the replacement of the fuel filter in which the rear seat had to be taken out. As for the replacement of the brake discs & pads, I would recommend your local mechanic do this part of the job as well as the water pump. You will find that they would be able to complete the job much less than what you were quoted by Lexus. I had my front brake disc's and pads replaced by my local mechanic and cost me all up around $550. Brembo discs and pads were used. Hope this helps!
  4. All points and opinions considered - Thank you! At this stage I'll be swinging towards booking it in with Lexus mainly because of the type of service it requires this time round.
  5. I'm contemplating on taking my car to Lexus for its 75k log book service and was wondering if its worth it or am I better off on taking to a local mechanic or even someone like Ultra Tune to perform the log book service? What I don't understand is the big difference in the service prices I received from what Lexus offers and what other mechanics/Ultra tune offer for exactly same log book service needed. The difference is anywhere between $200-$300 less for non Lexus dealer. All the prices received included the fuel filter replacement which I've been told is semi big job in itself. Furthermore, I also would like an upper engine de-carbon clean. Even this the prices quoted vary from $44 to approx $250. So is Lexus dealer service worth doing? Current drive is a 2008 IS250 SL Appreciate any advice or opinions given. Finally, if you know of any good mechanics in the inner west area or around the Bexley area that can assist that also would be appreciated. Oh yeah and I need a courtesy car as well for the day.
  6. Hair dryer and fishing line worked best for me on a previous car
  7. I have recently upgraded to ISF wheels with 225/35/19 at the front and 245/35/19 at the rears. Slight rubbing at the front when turning corners but nothing major to worry about. Ride and handling are no problems, however best thin I like, it makes the car look good. Just gotta get it lowered a little
  8. I just went up from stock 17's to ISF 19's on my sports luxury and the ride height is almost the same. Due to cosmetic reasons only, I will be dropping the rear by 1.5inches just to get it looking level.
  9. Hi All, Just an update, today I have had my brakes replaced on my car. After reading you posts and taking in your suggestions, I booked it in with my local mechanic who installed for me 2 brand new Brembo standard front discs and EBC pads. I was suprised that he used Brembo discs as i didn't think they made them. He said he has been using them for a while and so far so good and no complaints have been received as yet. Thank you to all who posted towards this topic, your suggestions were greatly appreciated. Now for my next mod....... Adjusting the height of the rear rear end.
  10. Fellow forum members, I'm in need of replacing my front brake pads and discs and was wondering where is the best place to go for good service and price?? Just after a straight forward brake discs and pads (dustless if possible). Also tossing up whether it would it be cheaper if I buy the parts and have a mechanic fit them?? Located in Sydney (inner west) Cheers
  11. I have the same issue Just had Isf 19's fitted and want to drop her a little, possibly and 1 to 1.5inches and level all round. People I have spoken too said to use King springs and some people even said to have the stock ones reset (not fan of this). I have rung pedders and feel they are too expensive and know I could get a better deal/price elsewhere. Any suggestions would be a great help
  12. As they say good things come to people who wait.... It took me approximately 3 months to find my current ride a 2008 is250 SL in charcol grey, black leather interior, approx 50k's. Ended up picking it up for $30k and travelled down to Canberra for it. Bought it in October last year. Sometimes if your after a particular colour it may take longer to find but something will come up for you. Good luck in your hunt!
  13. Ive always been using in all my cars (inc my wifes car) Caltex/Woolies or Shell Premium unleaded 95 or 98 and never had an issue.
  14. Hi all, Long time browser, first time poster.. Approx 2.5mths ago i acquired and now am a proud owner of a 2008 IS250 sports luxury in charcol grey. I gotta say this car has it all compared to my previous ride and look forward to driving it everyday. Time to start searching for some mods I.e. isf wheels Cheers.
