Thanks for your reply -
I have to dob in a bit and pay a bit more monthly but wanting to know if the difference in the cars makes that much of a difference.

I have a chance to change my 2012 IS350 X for a 2014 IS 350 F Sport
Is it worth doing ?

Hi,
I have an 2012 iS 350
I've found it to be jerky, and lags at times, rev, lag, jerk, you know what I mean, very annoying.
I was led to believe that the new is350 doesn't have this problem but reading above it seems it's not as fast either..........any comments ?
Saw the new one on the road yesterday, v e r y impressive.
-
Just took it into Melbourne Lexus, they fixed it free.
Also got some info on the new is 350 sports...........new gearbox, no more lag, .5 second faster 0-100, sounds like a real winner.......

I won't try dismantling the console.
I'll have to leave it to Lexus , seems like design fault to me.
-
Here's the answer but I wont be trying it -

I hope not, I'll have to take it to Lexus I guess.

I have the cup holder filled with coins for parking and also my garage remote is in there, somehow the remote slipped down the back of the lid and it wont open properly, any ideas ?

I have noticed same glare issue with my IS 250 / 350, while driving especially between morning to afternoon times. Early evenings onwards this glare is not that noticeable. I solved it with two methods: Used legally darkest possible TINTING and I am now using a POLEROID sun glasses. Any other sunnies wont give proper results like sunnies from POLEROID. Try these and hope this solves glare issue in IS 250/350.
Tinting of the front screen ?
No you cant tint the front screen, but tinting the others might cut down on the glare and perhaps even lower air con running costs.
Anyone have an opinion on tinting ?

I wouldnt put a dash mat on anyway, looks crummy.
Saw a 250 today, white with tinted windows, looked good, I wonder if tinted windows would help, keeping light out generally ?
-
I don't have the sunroof open so a dash mat i guess...any recommendations ?
-
Anyone else have a clue ?
-
is the glare bouncing off something in the car like the dash or centre console bit? do you see it at all times when you drive or only when driving and the sun is in front of you?
have you tried putting the sunvisor down?
sometimes i'll have sunlight reflect off the centre console but nothing really annoying or significant and it would usually only be when i have the sunroof open.
Sunvisor doesnt work completely for this particulay glare.
It's there no matter where the sun is but worse at some angles, I'm fairly sure it's coming off the dash, the plastic or whatever it is is a bit shiny and picks outside light up easily and directs it into your face.
Is there some treatment I can use to tone it down ???
(didnt get a notification of this reply BTW)

glare from the sun or off the cloudseh? wat?
i dont get what your saying
glare?
what kind of glare?
Seems a bit too much

Anyone else notice a bright glare in the cabin of their iS ?
Might be because there's no dark strip across the top of the windscreen or could be off the dash, not sure.

Had my is 350 a couple of months (new) the temp today is 39 outside temp guage shows 29
Drove 4k to the supermarket parked for 15 minutes drove home again, probably half an hour approx all up.
any opinions ?
-
I never use them, good old head turn or lean forward like good old fashioned driving :)
Thats great, perhaps one day they'll fix it so you dont have to do that.
-
Whats starting to annoy me is that sometimes when you hit the gas, not hard mind you, but just gently the engine revs then it kicks in and you lurch forward, thats the best way to describe it.
Instead of a smooth take off.
Anyone else experience that ?
Yep i noticed this a few times in my 6 days of owning the 350
So it happens with the FSport too ? Interesting.

I've asked and there is no replacement for the mirrors just have to live with it, make sure cars are way back before changing lanes, best test it out by pulling in front of a parked car and see how close it really is compared to the mirrors.
-
My driving is almost all short trips in traffic so fuel consumption is what it is for that sort of use, I'm using Premium Unleaded.
I'm told rough ride is because of the 18' wheels, very glad I didnt get the 19'
Concave mirrors, told to adjust the mirrors so I cant see the side of my car, tried it but feels too weird, just have to get used to the distance behind me with the concave mirrors before I change lanes.
-
the road noise might come from tyres... I had the same problem before with my 250.. But after I changed to Michelin.. It's much better..
The ride of quite rough too, like a go kart over any uneven surface, I dont mind, it reminds me of a Maserati I once had but I thought unusual for a sedan........very sporty though :)

I'm going to look into replacing tham with flat mitrrors, I'd say they dont exist but I'll have a look round. I'll report back.
