  1. Danny would have loved to come out and meet you guys. But have prior commitments and didnt know about it so will have to be another time.
  2. Just had the car serviced today. Everything went smoothly. they dropped off the current generation IS350 that I asked for. Its a shame I had to be at work and could not go and check it out. Paid an extra $65 for the wiper blades to be done and also $200 something for a carbon clean. My Dad is really happy and says the car is even more chirpy then before hahaha
  3. Thanks Danny I've booked the car in for the service at Lexus Chatswood. They are going to come all the way out to Liverpool to pickup the car and I've requested for a current model IS350 so they will supply that if there is one. Then drop off in the afternoon so that is damn good :)
  4. So your saying the quoted price is only for labour only? Parts are on top? Its for an ISF. I didnt ask if parts were included as I expected them to quote with parts for the service.
  5. My Dads car is up to the 90000km service and got quoted Lexus of Parramatta at $1350 and Lexus of Chatswood $1038 but was told that is a special price I need to mention.
  6. hahaha fair enough but its usually just mark ups due to brand as the technology has been around for ages now. What about maintenance? Who is a good service centre in Sydney? Good quality work at a reasonable price as the 90k km service is due now. Does the manifold have to come off to change the spark plugs?
  7. Thanks some top prices its also about the ease of claims that should be considered like some of you have pretty much stated. YOUI doesnt do agreed prices. Not sure if that is a risk or not...
  8. I didnt expect the headlights to be cheap but at those prices someone may be able to modify them at a cheaper price and also I can get the headlights blacked out. But it may not happen for some time yet as I have to let my Dad enjoy the car as is first then go from there.
  9. Thats fair enough but even though the oil has broken down it should still be in the engine. The volume should still be the same or similar its just the the oil is not as good for the engine. How I have been understanding from the other post is the volume is reduced. The only way this can happen if its burnt or leaking from the engine seals/gaskets?
  10. I called Youi and got a quote of about $1250 for my Dad which is much better. Also their terms are good like free hire car if car cant be used due to accident and things like that. With insurance prices like that in QLD I should move there! :)
  11. That's damn good first hand experience. I'm going to get a quote and see how it goes. Cheers for sharing.
  12. Wow that is awesome pricing. I'll have to give them a try and see how I go. I have heard youi are hard to claim with. Not sure if its the process or they reject more claims. But I have never used them so never had any first hand experience.
  13. Well doesn't sound to promising then... The big mirrors while they dont look great or make the car more sporty. They are functional though :)
  14. Been looking for insurance for my retired Dad with a clean driving record and garaged address. NRMA and AAMI you have to call them. It wont produce an online quote. Enthusiast wanted a bit over $1900 until I went back and said its for my retired Dad who will not drive it much. So went to $1700 for regular use and $1200 for less then 10000 kms a year. Excess at $1000. Tried Just Cars online quote and was surprised to see it was a bit over $1700 with $825 excess. But the agreed value really got me at $72000 which is much higher then what I set with Enthusiast. Might just get my Dad to put the excess to $2K and pay about $1300 a year as he is like the others guys on here. If its something serious he will claim. Otherwise will fix from his pocket. Anyone with any recent quotes?
  15. Thanks Danny. Lots to learn with any new car. Would you know where to source the updated headlights with DRL? Are they straight plug and play? Is there any side mirrors with the blinker in them that would fit from other cars? My Dad loves that feature and wants to see if there is anything that is a direct fit.
