  1. Hey all, just purchased a gs350 f sport and looking to do some basic mods (the mrs will get my current is350 f sport). Im posting here as i dont think the GS forum gets much traffic!

Anyway, are there any lowered springs which have the same softness level as factory? Love the look of the car however it sits a little too high.

Also, has anyone swapped out their steering wheel to a newer update model one, or does this fall into the too difficult basket?

    Cheers!

  2. Your wrong there, you can definitley plug an iphone in and it will work just like an ipod, i know because thats what ive been doing for the past few years

    BUT...

The newer the iphone/ios, the glitchier the experience. Eg: Back when i had an iphone 6s plugged in via usb cable, the music worked 100% fine, when i moved to an iphone xr, it started randomly disconnecting, i had to restart the iphone to get it to work correct.

But the funny thing is, my mrs has the EXACT same iphone as me, with the exact same ios but my car doesnt recognise her phone at all.

I can also plug a usb stick in, but it seems to have a limit in regards to how much music it can actually play. Eg if i put a few gb worth and say 600 songs, it will mostly play the same songs over and over (on random), so out of that 600, its only actually recognising 200

I had a Takeda intake on my is350 and it was very loud from about 3500rpm. Sounded like a V8.

Highly recommend it you want sound. No experience with other brands.

Didn't feel any power gains to be honest.

Cool thanks for that. Yes only after sound, i dont expect to get miraculous gains from an intake only. Plus the is350's 233kw is more than enough for a daily driver

Can i ask where you purchased your intake from?

  4. Thanks for the replies everyone. To answer your questions:

. The smell only comes when the a/c is on, no smell when just running the fan/heater.

. Have felt around the footwell area for the carpet being damp, its all dry, so doesnt seem to be leaking directly into the cabin carpet

. Culprit is most likely the cabin filter, not sure when this was cleaned/changed last, at least a few years now. Thanks for the heads up about setting the heater controls beforehand as well!

. Ensure the drain hose is clear: where abouts do i find this?

    Thank you!

I purchased one of these about 6 months ago so i could stream music wirelessly as the Bluetooth on the Lexus is pretty prehistoric. I sit it inside the centre console (its only tiny - about the size of your key fob) and it gets power from the usb port and then uses a 3.5mm headphone connector to connect to the cars radio: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/one-for-all-bluetooth-music-receiver-ue-sv1810

good suggestion. would the steering wheel controls still work? next, back, volume up/down etc

  6. cheers will do.

theres 2 other things bugging me about the car which hopefully i can get sorted as well:

    1. drivers seat is squeaking. i believe that this is because the foam inside is rubbing against the frame. looks like a mission to get the drivers seat out of the car properley!

    2. my stereo makes bluetooth phone calls, but doesnt stream bluetooth music. am looking to either upgrade to the next model stereo which does, or get some sort of aftermarket plugin.

    any recommendations on these 2?

  7. I have a 2011 is350 f sport. coming up on 150,000 km's now and am considering if i should sell and move onto a car with lesser km's, or stick with it

Do these cars have any major troubles around this km range? Touch wood nothing has gone wrong so far, i have just been servicing as per the book

I am considering doing a full transmission fuild change. I know that the book says its a sealed unit for life, however i dont trust that. no oil lasts "for life".
