  1. Thanks, Baz.

    I couldn't find V25 from Navshop, however, they do have V24 and under the list of major changes/additions for NSW, the following is listed (considering that V25 will include all this, I think the following POIs would be an interesting way of validating whether they have been included in V25. If they're missing then the V25 is most likely just re-labelled as an older version - perhaps V22?);

    • Pacific Highway upgrade near Sancrox – 3 new roundabouts.
    • Werrington Arterial Road interchange – Creation of interchange with M4 and widening of Kent Street and Gipps Street.
    • Westconnex M5 near King Georges Road – Interchange upgrade of slip lanes roads and lanes. /li>
    • Richmond Road upgrade, Stage 2 – Upgrade to dual carriageway with 4 lanes.
    • Westconnex M4 - Parramatta to Haberfield Stage 1 – Upgrade to 4 lanes in both directions.
    • Beecroft Road and Carlingford Road intersection upgrade – Addition of right turn lane.
    • Pacific Highway upgrade - Nambucca Heads to Urunga – Additional lane and geometry.
    • Pacific Highway upgrade - Tintenbar to Ewingsdale replacement of Tulladunna Bridge over Namoi River on Kamilaroi Highway – Replacement of bridge.
    • Princes Highway – Upgrade at Gerringong for 15km of geometry.
    • Camden Valley Way – Stage 3 upgrade Bringelly Road to Ingleburn Road.
    • Cumberland Highway upgrade – installation of right turn bays on John St, St Johns Road and Hamilton Road and upgrade of Wetherill Street from 2 lanes to 4 lanes.
    • Seventh Street extension, Mascot – Extend Seventh Street to Qantas Drive.
    • James Ruse Drive – Intersection upgrade improving access to and from Grand Avenue and Hassal Street, Rosehill.
    • Hunter Expressway – Addition between F3 (M1 at Seahampton) to Branxton (New England Highway).
    • M5 corridor expansion – South West Motorway widening from Camden Valley Way to King George’s Road.

    Can anyone care to check if any of the above changes ARE included in V25?

  2. Hey Baz, I've been comparing the contents of the this V23 ISO with the V22 and V15 (the one that came with the car from factory).

    V22 and V15 have the same directory structure and similar files (based on the file naming conventions).

    V23 seems to have some directories missing and a few files missing.

    I'm going to try and edit/add the files and directories into V23 and burn it onto a DVD to check to see if it works. Something to keep me busy. Will report back.

    Oh really? I'm located in Melbourne's South East, however I don't mind a bit of travel for quality service and a fair price! By Lexus mechanics, do you mean independent? Or a dealership's mechanic? I'm trying to stick to a dealership as to retain the value of the logbook, otherwise I would be going to a family friend for the service.

    Hey choppy, here's a thread from last year with some suggestions/recommendations - https://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/13813-melbourne-non-dealer-service/

    Try ringing places to get a feel for it and compare it to what Lexus quotes you.

    I'm in NSW but I got my IS250 at ~73K mileage and later on in the year I had the 90K service done at an independent mechanic who knows Lexus cars very well. Paid $1.3k and had some substantial work done.

  4. I used to fill up with Shell V-Power for a few months until I decided to try BP Ultimate 98. I personally prefer BP Ultimate 98 as I experienced some sluggishness with V-Power overtime. My experiences with V-Power are similar to what Atlantis mentioned. I also noticed that the 98 prices for BP are far better than Shell V-Power (probably because Shell V-Power accept the fuel dockets from Coles).

    Yeah, sorry I meant Disp and not Mode, and you can only reset the L/km, but it should affect the distance on your next refill of the tank.

    Let us know how you go.

    Hey Atlantis, this worked! Here's what I did;

    1. Reset the existing values by holding down DISP.

    2. I got the fuel consumption to around 10.5L/km (suburban driving)

    3. Filled-up today and got an estimated range of ~560km.

    Thanks!

  6. Thanks, Atlantis. I was curious because I was comparing a full tank fuel estimate between my mate's 2010 IS250C and my 2010 IS250. Mate gets over 600km whereas mine never gets over 500km. Both of us do urban driving.

    I tried resetting it by holding the DISP button on the steering wheel but that doesn't seem to reset the fuel estimate. It resets the L/km estimate. I tried holding MODE but that only seems to control the audio input mode (AUX/FM/CD).

    Thanks!

  7. All,

    I've observed that even on a full tank, the fuel range estimate that is provided by the on-board CPU always estimates below 500km. For example, last week on a full tank, the fuel estimate was at 480km. When the range falls below 400km, it climbs back upto 400+. Seems like the on-board CPU never provides an estimate greater than 500km and makes up for it by bumping up the estimate back above 400km when the range falls below 400km.

    Anybody else have had a similar problem?

    Hi all picked up this a month or two ago. Planning on an RR tune pack, have ordered a varex x force which is taking its sweet time via sparesbox.

    Mate at work with a tuned CLA45 bet me 5k he will beat me at the drags. I Will need to have slicks and a bit of luck IMO

    Nice black ISF! Just wondering what happened to the result of the drag? I hope he beat your ISF...to the repair shop that is!

  9. All,

    Is anyone even remotely interested in a group buy for the latest V23 maps? If we get enough prospective buyers, we can transfer funds to the nominated buyer's PayPal. The other option would be of course to wait until someone leaks the V23 DVD in which case old mate Bazzle would probably find it. I've made a list of all V23 packages that I could find so far;

    1. navshop au - AUD295 - https://navshop.com.au/collections/lexus

    2. navigationau - AUD200 - http://www.navigationau.com/toyota-lexus-navigation-disks.html (site is kinda dodgy considering that they're not accepting PayPal. They only seem to accept a direct bank transfer). UPDATE - DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE.

    3. eBay - AUD200 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/V23-2017-Toyota-Lexus-Denso-NAVIGATION-map-DISC-Australia-NZ/302416153562?hash=item4669684bda:g:VBsAAOSwImRYX3p1 (seller only accepts a local pick-up from Armidale unfortunately)

    What do all the Lexians think?

  10. Just an update on things -

    Mate took the car to Lexus who had the car for a few days and apparently could not find any issue. The only workaround they provided was to disable the intrusion detection sensor which meant that the car wouldn't set off the alarm if it was broken into. They offered a new Intrusion Detection Sensor system for $4000 which was "politely" declined.

    Anybody else have any suggestions on what to check for?

    Old mate Baz to the rescue, thanks :)

    So, I've had a look through those forums and have compiled some workarounds that I might get my mate to try;

    • Remove anything metallic from the center console.
    • Reset the intrusion detection system (should be in the manual).

    Will update on the above.

  12. G'day all,

    Posting on behalf of a mate of mine who drives an IS250C. Couple of weeks back, the car alarm kept going off. Car is parked securely at home and there has been no sign of forced entry. It kept happening day after day. Finally called NRMA who replaced the battery as they suggested that the alarm repeatedly going off was one of the signs of low battery.

    Replaced the battery but the alarm kept going off day after day. Took it to the Lexus service department who said they will monitor the car. The alarm kept going off whilst at the service department and they required some time to investigate. Got a call the other day from the Lexus service department who suggested that the Intrusion Detection System had failed and they suggest replacing it which will cost between $1500-$2000 plus labor charge per hour. Mate of mine refused to have it replaced and was provided a technique to disable the intrusion prevention system. This meant that you can lock the car but the alarm won't go off if someone tried to break into the car.

    Wondering if anyone else have had this problem and if there are any other options to have it fixed (private mechanics). Any input is much appreciated, thanks!

    has done many 2IS ISX50 and ISF's

    cheap prices too

    log book services too

    Danny, thanks for recommending TNK. Have read all the glowing reviews about this place and keen to try them out on my next service. Just out of curiosity, do potential buyers get put off from buying a Lexus if it hasn't been serviced by an authorized Lexus dealer?

  14. The general consensus around the forum seems to be to take the car to an authorized Lexus dealer for servicing. I've read a lot of posts where people state that they would generally not prefer to buy a Lexus that has not been serviced by an authorized Lexus mechanic (something you can keep in mind if you plan on selling your IS250 later on). Try ringing up Lexus of Sutherland and Lexus of Chatswood for quotes and make your decision from there. Please keep us updated!
