i was just curious as to why yous felt the need to check your tunes that’s all.

So Before I bought the tune I raised the the issue of climate difference (between US&Aus) with RR and they mentioned that I buy a techstream cable in order to record a few runs, so I can send across the pond to them

So they can monitor how the ECU has adapted to the new map and make any necessary changes if need be

maybe just me being ocd but all precautionary, plus I love that the dudes at RR are so pro Lexus F’s

Greg can you go through the OBD tune process please, do you need a laptop or can you use a desktop for this?

Are the steps : read ECU with OBD device and upload to the device then a PC to be sent to RR racing / download file they send back via PC and copy to OBD device then plug / upload to the car? curious if you can do this process BEFORE adding headers etc so I can tune on the spot? how long does the process take to upload etc?

    Cheers :)

how did you go Vaku - sorry mate i just realised i didnt answer you that well - busy af at work this time of year!

yes re the steps - that is precisely how it happens

Personally speaking, i wouldn't suggest doing the tune UNTIL the mods are done - lets not forget that this is a self learning ECU that will adapt to changes in hardware to a certain degree - having said that i elected to fit the hardware first and then just cruised around for a day or two on minimal throttle until it was all uploaded, at which point i did some nice 4th gear pulls (all on a private road of course ;)  i am wrapped with the results

Nice black ISF! Just wondering what happened to the result of the drag? I hope he beat your ISF...to the repair shop that is!

haha havent had the drag yet, but we did do a charity drvie day at Phillip island where his car had a mystery fault that rendered him no good for the tarmac!

OBD port with a desktop is fine - laptop probably easier - yes quite simple but a little bit fiddly - just follow the instructions step by step

  5. Hi all thinking the answer to this is a custom fab job but wanting to know if anyone has done the above - I have an xforce cat back with the single outlet - wanted it to go into stacked quaddies like the pic on the orange RCF - any help or suggestion would be great before I go and create my own in the garage

Last year when mine was on the dyno, I ended up with 288kw (386hp) atw’s.    with the new header group buy that is happening,  it will be good to see what they end up with on the dyno.   if they end with the magic 300kw,  I’ll have to go back & see if Sonny can tweak some more out of mine.   they must be learning some more about the ecu over time,  one can only hope.

It would be good to see what “Gregorydarcy” RR Racing tune ended up with atw’s.

haha im anti dyno power runs- its like findout out your IQ - all about the way it feels for me - so many variables that can affect the dyno output.

for tuning, then yes im all for it - but all that hard work has been done in the US already....

a quick reverse calculation of of the drag race last week says that its roughly 410-420hp atw give or take which im happy with

interesting to note that the first and second 1/8 mile times were precisely the same (to 3 decimal points!) at 8.109 - kooky?

  7. Thx gents. This one was my second run and my best 60foot of the day. Not forgetting full tank and spare and *BLEEP* in the boot. I didn't even look at my tyre pressures either

I was spewing with 12.3, I want 11s in the next run - it's all about the hole shot launch in my opinion - seemed to go better when I manually shifted at 7k too for the record

No one will dip into the 11s without boost or atleast changing the rear ratio to a is350 or similiar.

Ive been following Isf times for years now and that seems to be how it is. Even over here im still yet to hear of anyone dipping under a 12.5

between my wife and i we have ran ours down in excess of 50 times trying various techniques, setups etc. Best we have found was using a 245/40/18 mt et street still normal weight landed us a 12.59@116 but generally depends on temps and track conditions. As for 60 ft times the lowest we have squeezed was a 2.0. If these had a slightly higher stally they would be a weapon off the line

    First run I did was 12.3 at 188kmh - 1.86 60 foot

track temp was warm too - full tank of juice and a bunch of work *BLEEP* in the boot - ran a few 12.4s after that - the trap speed says it's good for high 11s
