Hi all Lexophiles! I wanted to ask if there is a known disablement technique, dealer code and/or modification to temporarily disable the VSC on the Aus delivered IS300? I've heard that the IS300 VSC system may have been optional in some markets? Does anyone know if all Aus delivered cars have VSC? I believe North American manual IS300's did not have VSC? Is this true? I love the dynamics and balance of the IS300 but the VSC is just too intrusive and spoils the fun of a delicious drift! :( I realise the Traction Control can be turned off but it's such a shame that the VSC is not fully disable at the same time! :( The IS chassis is so beautifully balanced and steering so sharp I feel it is an insult to have the plug pulled while exploiting such a fine machine! :(

All help and advice greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Hugh.

i work with the later model toyota motors at work - it is possible to disable vsc on these cars by cutting power to the steering column sensor on the clock spring (this is how toyota disables the vsc on 4x4's - just wire in a switch on that power line & it should do the trick. the "vsc" light will come up on the dash.

G'day Toby, Thanks for the tech advice! :) I've read on European formus of the 'Steering Sensor' input supply modification. Sounds like the system is wired/configured in the same way in most/all international markets. Great to know there's a pretty simple solution to have total chassis control back in my own hands! :)

Cheers,

Hugh.

Quick & easy way.

Under the bonnet.....fuse & relay box at the back right hand side. Remove the bright green relay.

if only a pre 08 is250 was this simple!!!

The correct way without disabling ABS is to get a switch between the ignition supply wire to the steering sensor.

All you need is cut the red/black wire on the Drivers Side J/B, Connector 1A, Pin 4:

and put the switch (nc) in between, like the drawing.
