hey all this my first post i hope someone can help.is a 98 gs300 obdII compliant the reason i ask is i found a obdII port and hooked up a obdII scanner but it wouldn't connect.has anyone successfully connected a obdII scan tool.or dose it need a special toyota scanner.i need to retrieve any stored codes as the car seems to be in limp mode ie wont rev past 4000 rpm drives perfrctly idles smooth as slik just hits 4000 rpm and hits rev limiter.thanks in advance.cheers.

My ebay scanner works with my 2000 model gs300

Anyone know if this scanner would work on a 2000 GS300?

The seller gave me some vague answer.

No that one will not work. Look for a mini vci cable that comes with Toyota techstream software and then it will work.
