Shez
Hi there, I have just bought a second hand IS 250 its in great condition except that around the Lexus badge on the rims there is a lot of pitting and corrosion. Has anybody else experienced this? I know it is quite common in the US and UK.
ilv1004s
wheel corrosion in the US is caued by salt on the road during winter in australia it's probably dodgy repaired wheels that was starting to rust and flake
Steve
salt is the culprit. latest thing i have een seeing is vinyl wrapping wheels. Protects them until you come to sell the car
Shez
Thanks for the feed back. The wheels are new the car has only done around 40,000 km, and not from a costal area. The wheel vinyl wraping sounds interesting, have never heard of it. I have taken the car back to Lexus service centre and put a in warranty request, as Lexus have a 6 year corrosion warranty so we will wait and see what they have to say.
