Hey Guys

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good set of replacement disc rotors for the is250?

The dealer quoted me 1500AUD to replace (front only) which i found to be quite amusing

Naturally i told them to f**k off (politely)

So far all the brands i know off are dba and rda..but im sure there are more out there which I have no idea of..

Any help or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hey sPy,

That is a ripped off. I had mine front disc rotors replaced recently with a new brake pad including labour and they quote me for $800. This was down at the Lexus of Perth. I really like the OEM disc rotors and brake pad because they offer a really good brake when applying a sudden stop.

There are a few rotars out there and very pricey.

OK i have done some research. One should pay no more than $700 for a new set of front rotors inc pads.

If anyone out there ever has to replace their rotors, then the best option is to go with RDA slotted or DBA brakes. Most shops will be happy to recommend them.

ECB red pads were also recommended, but you can't get them in Aust.

cant get Bendix either.

The only pads that fit the lexus make is ones made by TWS.

Anywayz, im going to try OEM brake pads with RDA slotted rotors.

Wish me luck......

  • 4 weeks later...

I thoroughly recommend BMA AutoParts in California

http://www.bmaparts.com/

Have used them for the past 10 years for my 5-series and 3-series bimmers.

I have just priced up a set of rear rotors and brakes:

07 Lexus Brakes

- Brake Rotors - LEX022893 - US$32.50 each

- Brake Pads - LEX090795 - US$29.00

The only down side with heavy parts is the shipping cost as they only air freight.

(You can organise your own freight if you would prefer surface).

Shipping cost for 2 x rear rotors and rear pads:

Priority Mail - 6 to 10 days - US$170.00

For rear discs they have OPParts.

For front discs they have Genuine, OPParts, Meyle and Brembo.

They also do ceramic and semi-metallic pads

For lighter parts, they are incredibly cheap and fast.

e.g. For an AC part for my 3 series even with exchange and shipping they came in under 1/2 the price of BMW.

I ordered the part online on the Thursday and it arrived on the following Tuesday

I am just ordering a replacement indicator stalk for my bimmer 3-series (RHD).

Local Bimmer stealer price: AUD$290

BMA: US$130 + US$25 shipping (AUD$200)
