  1. Hi I'm up for new tyres for my 2004 RX330. Lexus wants over $1200 for 2 Michelins, fitted, balanced, wheel alignment! Anybody got any recommendations? I've had a quote for 4 Bridgestones ($300 each) or Yokohama ($280 each) from Bob Jane.
  2. Drove an RX 350 while my RX330 was being serviced, and noticed an extra switch labelled 'AFS OFF' down near the fuel door release. Anyone know what it is? Noticed the difference in power to mine, extras like heated seats, bluetooth phone, upgraded NAV nice but on the whole not a lot of difference. Wouldn't mind upgrading though!
  3. I had a look on their website and they quote 225/55 R17 but not 225/65 R17. I'm also looking for replacement tyres for my 2004 RX330
  4. I've got an '04' model, would love the same thing, but no luck I'm afraid....
  5. My 2004 RX330 is showing 39 degrees C, parked in the shade!
  6. I tried the new V13 in my 2004 RX330 yesterday, but didnt notice the detail, was just interested to see if it would load as my current version is 3.1! Only problem is the $396 Lexus wants. Tried the Toyota V13 but it wont load.....
  7. You dont get much traffic on here unfortunately - not like the USA forum! I'd like some discussion on my 2004 RX330....
  8. I thought the RX400H is the hybrid?!
  9. Its OK, found I actually had 3 - 2 with the buttons and another that I can leave with the dealer, it doesnt open the glove box I think...
  10. Only received 2 sets when I bought my 2004 RX330. The dealer says I should have at least 3 - they normally keep one but the previous owner must have kept them! I dont want to give them my only spare. How would I go trying to get the others from him?
  11. If your Lexus is anything like mine (2004 RX330), one click on remote unlocks the drivers door, a second click within about 5 seconds unlocks all doors - surely they're all the same? Check your manual....
  12. Hi Losiho Have you noticed the reflections in the windscreen as yet? I'm in Perth and we have lots of sun over here - it seems better since I took the excessive shine off that the detailer had left... Cheers Bear
  13. 1. Tyre noise seems excessive at speed, certainly not as one reviewer said: ‘one of the overriding sensations is an almost complete absence of road and wind noise – in keeping with usual Lexus standards. At highway speeds there's barely a whisper, the occupants cocooned in an automotive cone of silence’. Not my experience! Maybe its our West Australian country road surfaces, or my tyres (fairly worn at only 38000 Kms). 2. Ample power for overtaking, engine quiet and responsive. Found it better to flick to 4th gear prior to overtaking. 3. Cruise consumption seemed to be around an acceptable 11 l. per 100 km. 4. Annoying reflections of the dashboard top in the windscreen. Maybe caused by over zealous detailing resulting in high shine. Will try a matte finish, or will have to go for one of those felt dashboard mats. 5. Steering a bit on the light side, but handling acceptable. 6. I have the tyres at 36 psi so the ride is a little bumpy and skittish, but will result in increased tyre life and handling. 7. The climate system is a bit of a mystery to me – you seem to have to set it at around 25 degrees (both sides) even though the outside temperature was only in the low 20’s or else freeze. I ended up turning off the A/C all together. The problem may be that the car had been sitting in the sun and that vast dash area heats up and radiates such heat into the cabin that the system is sensing that and trying to overcome it. 8. Cruise control on mine will not resume the previous speed after you have set it and then braked. The symbol appears to indicate a pull towards the driver should ‘resume’, but that had no effect on mine. 9. Seating very comfortable, both front and rear, and infinitely adjustable to easily vary a setting. 10. Night lighting impressive but the upper cut off a bit sudden on low beam for me – high beam very good and the stalk handily placed. 11. Sat nav functionally excellent, but my database must be at least 5 years old and coverage away from the city area pretty sparse. Any comments from other owners?
  14. I found this on the US forum - it works, but be careful, dont pick an option if you dont know what it does. They were using it to allow them to change destination on the move (and use the rear camera). Its to access the hidden service menu on the sat-nav screen. Some versions may use the following steps: Step 1 Press The Menu button Step 2 Press the DVD button Step 3 Press The Upper Left of the screen Step 4 Press The Lower Left of the screen Step 5 Press Upper Left of the screen again Step 6 Press Lower Left of the screen again Step 7 Press The Lower Right of the screen Step 8 Press and hold the Override Button until system beeps Step 9 Press Back Button in upper right corner Done! The Buttons For Navigation & Phone are now accessible This works on my 2002 RX330 - down to step 7 will bring up the hidden menu, I just tried a few other options from there... Have fun , but be careful!
  15. I was told the other day by a tyre expert, to always run the tyres at about 35-38 psi, NOT 30 as Lexus suggests. Gives a nice soft ride but terrible on tyre wear, mileage and handling!
