  1. ensure u get a fully synthetic oil, i used amsoil or Mobil 1, the wieghting of the oil depends on the climate u in. the sythetic will last u up to 10G km but i dont run it that long, i usually change between 6G km and and 7Gkm. just to kinda keep that oil fresh u know.... ensure that u use ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) for power steering fluid. thats what the car uses. i use the same fluid for clutch fluid/brake fluid.
  2. Does anyone know where I can get a front grille for an IS300/Altezza with the Lexus emblem embedded? The grill must be a mesh design. Please respond.
  3. Hey guys, sorry about not keeping y'all updated. well i firstly read that link you recommended zee007, kinda never liked the idea of the hammer, so i decided to leave it be. called my mechanic and he told me that the ignition drum and barrel needs to be replaced ( i tell u that niggah is on crack or what ?) . well considering i am all the way in Jamaica and i gotta order one from Japan, i decided to seek other avenues. well i call a friend of mine who imports these machines. he told me to go see a locksmith. a "LOCKSMITH??" i thought, but what the heck, he got experience in em, so i called the locksmith. locksmith came, repaired it , charge me an arm and a leg (what y'all think i'm driving a daaarn tezza :( ..). one thing the locksmith mentioned to me was that he has repaired atleast 5 since the start of the year, so strange to say, but i think it is some manufacturer defect in the drum and barrel. welll he (locksmith) claimed to have solved the problem, so lets see how long it will last cuase i got a warranty on his work and will sure go back if it mess with me again but i am good again guys, thanks alot for your inputs.
  4. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP, my ignition is stuck in the acc position. it has foyur position, lock+acc.+on+start The key can be removed from the car when it is in the acc. position, I removed the keys and when i was ready to shut the car off, i couldnt. yo i need help like fast, cause i gotta go home and i aint leavin my tezza at work :D B) B)
  5. Dude...everyone has their own taste, you reacted too seriously!!! Matt :) the worst thing you can ever do is make something i spend so much time, effort and money on, into a lame ride. i detest "fools" who make my ride look like crap man. if u not gonna make everyone that drives an altezza proud then dont buy the damn car man. cause beauty was never conceptual man is actual, get with it and get rid of stupid stuff on ur rides, these are all manufacturer defects man. why "re-invent" the wheel ??
  6. Whats wrong with you guys ??? MAN IS IT JUST ME OR WHAT ??? EMBLEMS ARE UGLY AS HELL MAN. i hate emblems, i took all of them off my tezza (even the front badge), man. i dont need to brag to nobody that i got a tezza, let them wonder what i have is how i see it. the car look so beautiful when it is clean, all emblemless. right now the only way u gonna know what i riding is if u go inside and see my tezza logo or pop my bonnet and see my SXE emblems are a thing of the past guys, come on guys get with it !!! emblems on tezza are just lame
  7. I had the stock box in and experience that same problem of shifting between 1st and 2nd. one thing i noticed was that when ever i shift hard i didnt feel it. and as they say once the car get warm enough the problems doesnt exist. i change my box to the TRD close ratio box, problem still existed, so i have come to the conlcusion that it is probably not a problem afterall but a design method with the altezza boxes. my friends say they all feel the same prob, infact my mechanic dont even feel it, the way he is used to it. he is like " ohh thats a regular, get used to it, wont do u no harm :)...i sometimes wonder if he on crack ..LOL )
  8. u say u planning to have a baby ? u definately dont wanna go with sport suspension then. ur child is bound to have a headache man. the kid dont deserves that. u see the sad thing is that sometimes u can not have your cake and eat it. u gotta decide what u want man. its either u want the handling or u want a family car. the is300 is ur family choice, RS200, with uprated suspension and lightened wight sure makes a good ride man trust me. handles like a beauty (when u buy the right suspension though ) remember ur child in whatever u do man, the kid comes first. or buy another car for ur wife to drive around in
  9. Man you cats are nasty, every 3 weeks ? WTF ??? you guys need to stop embarrassing ur tezza on the road. listen up, Merguirs is it, they make all the cleaning product u want. Wax, Polish, Wash, Tyre, they got it. and they do work. trust me Now u Wax and polish once per week (i got a black car, hardest to keep clean i know) and u wash as often as that sucker gets dirty. u got a body kit on ? that will keep the dirt down a bit. so with the body kit, twice per week will do you, without, is like 3 times per week. Wash ur engine and spray that sucker with sheen. the same thing those guys do at the car wash is what u can do at home. all u need is some degreaser. Now make every tezza out there proud (cept the nast ones..u cats need a ass whupping)
  10. I dont agree with you on this man, the lightened fly-wheel bound to affect how much power u put to the wheels man. i did the flywheel/clutch/gearbox swap and it was a hel lof a difference, night and day if you asked me !! or probably i just over- feeling my tezza :D :D i recommend u get the TRD clutch man, i got one in tezza. my mechanic drove the car and said it didnt feel like a performance clutch to him (yet he couldnt tell me why i launch way ahead of more highly modified cars than mine) cause it wasnt grabbing as much as a performance clutch. but he wasnt used to that clutch. u see the clutch literally feels like stock and does its performance work. cause i have no problem gripping/launching from the line. and i can drive around in traffic and dont feel like i am pumping a steel clutch
  11. Ok folks, went and got the car checked by the local dealer. they found out that my oil pressure switch was leaking. unfortunately they didnt have it in stock so i had to go and purchase it at a retailer for crazy dollarz. after paying that hefty fine i decided not to go back to the dealer to install it, cause i know they gonna charge me an arm and a leg. took it to my boy who replaced it in no time. We noticed that the car was fitted with an aftermarket performance oil pressure switch, so we figure it has done its time. still watching this stock one to see if it handling the mods on the car.......
  12. Dang !!! my Camber was supposedly corrected when i raised the car, well thats what the alignment guy said, so i never expected it to wear you know. but what i wondering though , is , if the width of the rims is in any way contributing to the wear ? but then tyre size wont change no matter the width of the rims huh ? dang !! Well i am trying to hook me up with some Yokohamas Street Sliks again but i am weary of the size to wear u know ?
  13. Yo, change your oil man, Synthetic oils will give u a bit more time but change em none the less.
  14. 1G for a used set of Tein ?? man if u can afford that, while trading in your old springs, you might as well sell the stock springs and add the money to the grand and buy them new.
  15. have a SXE, and just this weekend i was checking my engine, routine maintenance. i realize that there was oil on my engine guard. it would "seem" as though oil is coming from my crankcase seal, at one side. I have never seen this before. i was runnin the car rather hard the night before. checked my oil level both manually and via the in dash guage. they all seem pretty ok to me. i took her for a drive later that evening and i didnt see anymore oil than what was there but i was merely crusing round town. last night, i gave her a bit of excercise and this morning and saw oil spots where I parked signalling that more oil had spilled. i am now assuming that under high pressure the oil is leaking, u guys familiar with this case ? and is the fix merely changing the crankcase gasket or using a sealant or something ? Thanks alot guys
