Yeh but seeing it was past 6:30 i didn't feel save driving home with a dead battery even though the NRMA could have started it up.

I rang up Ultratune in Liverpool and they said they don't have the equipment to deal with out cars.

193 bucks, and the a/c felt alot cooler as well...with new battery.

I think there were definite signs. In the mornings the startup wasn't as crisp in that the sound of the engine cranking over and the needle spinning wasn't in sync (sluggish and laggy to say the least).

Just when i was about to jump in the car to go home from work, mine clicks but won't turn over. 5yrs and still using OEM battery, hopefully it's just the battery.

For our cars, it's fully ready for plug and play unless you want to mount the ballasts further away than the provided leads.

I've just ask the installer of my camry unit to see what he can get for this. Have also emailed flyaudio, it seems the latest CPU on these unit is 64MB RAM, nowadays they come with 256MB RAM which would be ... fast!

I recon it's due to lack of insulation, if you game enough to open up the dash (vents, radio etc) put some cloth in between movable parts and see how it is.

it cost me around $500 - i didnt get the spark plugs done as they are $83 each and lexus couldnt deliiver them in time so it would be like $1000 if i got the plugs done - i'll get them done next service of if it starts to play up

My car's done half the amount of Ks so do you think i should get it done i haven't notice any hesitations, just rev fluctuations abit and at started the revs sometime don't go down when it's warmed.

Can't beleive they haven't got anything cheaper. I got the the oem-like in-dash unit for my Camry and it's a measily 400 bucks.

Heard that current law says you need an Engineer Cert to drop your car no matter how minor. Do you know of one?

Still no dust buildups...amazing. Ideal for general driving conditions, silent and smooth. I don't do much high speed or aggressive driving so can't say much about top end performance. Iguess that's where Utimate comes in.

Very happy with GCTs, after 300km if it was oem pads the wheels would have been fully covered with dust but they are not, they are silver and shiny still and next to no dust on them. Brakes feel right, not to hard or to soft.

I have personally experienced workmanship and customer service at BigO during my Honda years. The guy that dropped my Lude bent over backwards to get it done and my lude had complications which took him 3 hours to drop my car (they usually do it in less than 1 hour easy). The manager came out every 10mins to ask how the car was and how i was with the wait. They normally close at 12pm, my car was completed at 2pm.

As for Bob Jane/Jaxx etc (i won't say who and where), i was there for a suspension check and I saw a OzzyTyes pick up truck delivered a truck load of wheels. Franchisees what more to say about them.

My wheels RS4 replicas (or whatever the name is) with different PCDs to the IS, They say it was wrong PCDs and told me to consider and the fact that the holes will need to be sanded to fit. They gave me the facts before asking if i wanted to proceed. They didn't convince me or try and talk me into anything. It was totally my choice (the customer).

Truth of the matter is this, everyone have a different story about these places. Ultimately it boils down to the individual who services the car, wouldn't be fair or accurate to say over a period of 20 years or so BigO, Ozzie, Tempe they all have the same dodgy dudes who work there. People come and go, wheels designes changes etc can't say don't go there or here. What you can probably say is you get what you pay for.

They have wheels that have set PCDs like any other places. They told buyers of the PCDs and if buyers still wanted the wheels, then they'll honour the buyer's request by making the wheels fit. It's up to the buyer. As for quality, does it mean if you run over potholes and it cracks as appose to "exepensive quality" ones that don't. Or does it mean the alloy paint peels off over a period of time. Unless you drive a GTR which you track or just fang around streets heaps (as you would do in a GTR), i doubt quaility is of a concern...atleast for normal road driving. Tempe Tyres, BigOTyres, OzzyTyres, TopTen Tyres etc are all the same. Some Bob Jane, Jaxx etc get their wheels from one of these places.

The theory has it that for general driving and braking, GCT on standard rotors are preferred. Aparently GCT are meant to me quiet, squeel free due to softer compound i would think, For performace oubviously Ultimate with slotted rotors.

After fitting, make sure you get someone there to test drive and tell them to do the initial bedding-in. It'll still take another 300km to bed-in but the initial test drive that they is all important. Sit in with them though. The drive home was smooth and comfy.

GCTs on fronts. Only done trip back from shop. Will let you know how they go after a week.
