im not talking about removing that thing i circle which is the air scoop im talking about removing the plastic thing behind the front grill ill take a pic of the front grill showing the thing thats covering it when i take off the engine bay cover again, its such a PITA hahahah

yea im not planning to do any flushing atm, only done 80km on the car :P just want to know whats the process in going to flush the engine oil, replacing oil filter etc etc

hey guys i just got a few questions regarding the monthly maintenance of my car 1. does anyone know how much litre is the windscreen wiper reservoir is? and is it ok to use tap water to top it up with some windscreen wiper detergent? 2. do people know how i can flush the coolant system? and how many litres does it hold? 3. how do i flush the engine oil system? and how many litres is this? and lastly, are my questions too in depth for a general thing to do on a saturday arvo or should i just take it to a mechanic? just asking for future reference, not that there is anything wrong with my car, only 2 days old :P

Hey guys, i took the cover off my engine bay this morning and notice from that and also by looking through the front grill that most of the front grill is blocked off by some plastic and once i took the engine bay cover off, i notice the port for the air to come into the air box was situated on the top where i would think its not getting much air flow since the front grill is blocked off am i correct? would removing the stuff blocking the front grill give it better air flow? heres a pic from sho's is250 showing what i mean, i highlighted what i thought is the intake airway port in red cheers

thanks for the info Art, will contact them now but im also thinking of getting a short ram intake kit rather than just a filter will see what the costs are though

does anyone know where i can get a filter in aus? not really wanting to order from the states, too long wait on postage

first mod will be to get a k&n air panel filter replacing the stock OEM one then im thinking of getting HID conversion kit for low beam, and PIAA bulbs for high beam and fog light, possible HID conversion for all 3 if i feel rich after that, im putting in a tanabe exhaust ahhahaha

really? then why did that guy tell me otherwise!! hmmmm maybe ill just order one from the usa and see what happens

this is what i got from another forum: Correct, the low beam is H11, unless you got the HID option, that would make them D4S. High beams are 9005 (HB3) and Foglights are 9006 (HB4). ok took delivery of the car this morning and asked the sales rep and he said HID kit will void warranty so im just going to change the globe does anyone where i can get some good HID ones? i want pure white are the is250 globe H11? cheers

ok, regarding warranty on HID kit was talking to another is250 owner who has done a few mods on their car, incl. exhaust, intake, HID kit, lowerd, bigger rims, and body kit he said he asked the sales rep from lexus and that guy said HID kit will void warranty, as the ballast needs to be wired into the cars electrical, hence may change some voltages basically, the car owner said to do only bolt on mods if you want to retain the 4yr warranty

the 18x8 are factory upgrade from the lexus dealer, not aftermarket wheels the sales rep guy said you are allowed to upgrade wheels to the largest offering on that model, so for the is250, the sports has 18" so you are allowed 18"

i say go for the kit im getting the car delivered tomorrow morning and will ask the delivery guy, then ringing the rep to ask about it too

$300 for a full HID kit installed seems ok with me but i would like to know if that would void warranty before doing the mod anyone know?

not too sure about the lexus but in my tarago, when we used these engine cleaner spray, it would give similar smell also check your intake grill and radiator grill, there might be dead stuff stuff to it

What kit have people used? whats good and whats bad? Where can i get them? cheers

i guess changing from RHS to LHS drive affects the shape of the filter, but im not too sure, anyone got any info this matter? because the guy from autowarehouse was confident that it would not fit Aus model

well the lexus is my sister's car but i will be driving it more than her :P the family also has a '98 camry and a '94 tarago so the new lexus will be our first brand new car

im not looking to be racing in the car, just to have better handling, especially in the wet what kind of suspension tuning are we talking here? i plan to drop the car later on, maybe using the Eibach ProKit springs or getting some custom springs done how much am i looking at for front and rear struts?

hey guys, im a newbie when it comes to car modification but anyone its fun to learn getting my IS250 in 1 weeks time and would like to put front and rear strut bars in it for better control in corners any recommendations? and where can i buy them? OR are strut bars useless? :P
