  1. i had tried green stuff~~ you can only feel it work better than normal pads after race your tezza few laps~~ otherwise you cant feel much difference. in my opinion, only thing make those pads better than others is their working temp higher. Those slotted discs are expensive~~My friend bought two front discs from EBC(slotted and holes) cost him 1000nzd~ dont buy green stuff~~ i think TRD, TOMS, or other JDM pads are far better than the ebc *BLEEP*~
  2. Hey bro. as I said , modern RWDs must have LSD....... no body using normal diff now..... Its too old, like the drum brake......
  3. when our cars are in stationary, the crown wheel and the pinion are also stationary, the diff is bolt on the crown wheel so it is not rotating.. when both wheel are off ground, there is no load on them. Two drive shafts connect to the diff with two side gear at their end. between two side gears the diff pinion connect with them. so when we spin one wheel the drive shaft will rotate the side gear in one direction and the side gear will drive the pinion to rotate. the pinion drive the other side gear to rotate in an opposite diretion. thats why the wheel on the other side will spin in an opposite direction. differential. diff rotating
  4. So Laurence, if I jack up both rear wheels and turn one, does the other spin in the same direction or the opposite direction? The lecture book seems to say both! keith keith, if you jack the car up and spin one wheel ,the other one should spin in opposite direction. " The axles are no longer free to rotate independetly. With the differential case held stationary, any rotation of one wheel or axle will cause the other to rotate in the opposite direction at the same speed." This is from my book. Maybe we should try to jack up the back of our car and let both rear wheels off the ground and spin one side only. See other side should spin in opposite direction. Laurence.
  5. maybe you could try local tyre shops? or suspension shops? or some tuning shops who have wheel alignment equipment...
  6. oh thats good!! I think i need to buy one... zee, how much is your one?
  7. Hey, nobody can see the diff inside the final drive assembly.. unless you disassemble it and take the diff out. The diff is bolt on the crown wheel inside the final drive assembly..... the only way we can make sure is taking the diff out of the housing..... If you jack the car up and spin the wheel, the two wheel will spin in opp direction thats for sure..... no matter it is a normal diff or a LSD....... thats basically how the diff and LSD work when you jack the car up..... the wheels will spin in same direction unless there is no diff or LSD connect both two drive shaft.... Above is according from my lecture book <automotive mechanics> Ed May volum1
  8. I know it is by the way it skids in gravel and on the wet roads, If it was an open non-LSD then only the wheel with the least load would spin. toyota uses a Torsen LSD which is a TORque SENsing LSD. They are a very good thing, as they always spread the torque evenly between both wheels at all times, so even if you have one tyre on ice and the other on tarmac, both wheels will spin evenly. If you jack the car up and spin the wheels you wouldnt think it is a LSD if you are used to the old clutch type LSD which uses friction to lock the two wheels and would make it really tight to turn. There are a couple of different ways of getting the LSD to work - There are the options of a '1 way, 1.5 way, or 2 way'. What this means is that with a '1 way', you only get the LSD action when under power. A '1.5 way' has a little LSD action when on trailing throttle. (good for controlling the car when cornering) And finally the '2 way', which is the drift driver's dream, as the car will want to slide everywhere. ;) Not the fastest way to get around a corner, but it looks pretty cool and *BLEEP*loads of fun. Torsen type diff friction clutch type diff Hoon~~~ Now i know i need a 2 way LSD........ Thanks....
  9. Normally the traction control uses ABS system to control different wheel spinning....It has nothing to do with the LSD..... LSD and traction control are totally different things..... LSD allows the wheels spin at different speed in corners.... Traction control adjusts the wheel spinning speed if the computer senses the wheel is spinning faster than others to aviod lost of grip..... Thats why we couldnt drift while the TRC is on.... Maybe I am wrong, but i will ask my teacher about this tomorrow morning~~
  10. Has anyone put earthing kit under the hood? How good are they ? Make any differences?
  11. Keith, according to what my teacher said to me, most of modern vehicle have LSD and some 4wd even have 3~~ I think for RWD vehicles LSD is a very important thing to have......For better handling in corners. I get confused about those 1.5 way LSD, 2 way LSD...etc.... I dont know what the hell are they and what difference between them and our stock LSD.... If i am wrong please correct me.... cheers~~
  12. My friend has a toms flywheel and TRD cluth kit..... I feel a lot better when i drive his car.... better than mine...... :(
  13. after read all your post. i feel a lot better~~~ haha~~Thanks everybody yep,, taking our tezzas on those car parks or roads will cause lots of trouble and waste our $$ if without any permission. I really hope we can have a well organized event for us so we can learn how to make our RWD useful and also have a bit of fun together~~~ cross my finger and pray~~~
  14. oh well , I have heard that drifting our tezzas in wet days is easier. Maybe i am not brave enough to do it in wet day....i havent tried....by the way , I dont know any places or car parks allow me to do it at day time or night time. Do you know any? Yes i agree that drifting our tezzas is different from drifting those nissans, we dont have that much power and less weight. I believe drifting our tezzas will have lots of fun.....Better than other turbo charge RWDs
  15. Thanks for all your hints~~ Hey Tezz, where abouts is lloyld elsmore? in AKL? could you tell me how to get there?haha~~you sure the cops or security wont come? I have been looking for a "playground" for a long time...... Exeter, thanks, my tezza is not an normal IS or RS, it is a Beems Qaulitat. gold rims came with the car. and red interior. also modelista odo guage like the one in my sign at the bottom. cheers Laurence
  16. welcome to our club~~~ I have to be honest.....I really want to steal your rims.......so nice~~~
  17. I want to drift my tezza~~~ dream about to do it every day and night. I found it is really hard to do it with everything standard. I read the post which keith and other mates talked about the sway bars. But still not clear.. Will it be more easier to slide the tail around the corner after install a rear sway bar? I never tried to rev my engine up to 5krpm in the corner to slide the tail, anyone tried? Fun???? Is it impossible to drift my tezza or make the tail slide with everything standard.. I feel sad about this. and i dont have lots of $$$ to put myself in the engine bay to get more power.. what kind of LSD does our standard tezzas have? :(
  18. hey bro, send me an email if i am not on MSN, and tell me when are you going to ship those eyelids.. I need to tell my friends.
  19. The pics of fist meeting.. Their first meeting at one tree hill... i was on the tree taking this photo...(yep... i know what you guys may think... i was like a monkey?) I had talked with their organizer, seems they really like to join this big family... Hope all of you will welcom us.....
  20. yes, it is the best... I got my one installed...took me 2 hours to do it( coz its first time for me). not hard at all... just ask matt to get one for you and install it by yourself.... after that, you will feel the difference.....
  21. finally got my Apexi air intake kit on.... took me 2 hours to do it right..... I couldnt find anything perfectlly block the vaccum hole,,so I use a little srew to help... it works..... :D feel any difference? not really big different....not really satisfied.....But it is better than the stock airbox.... looks better.. ;)
