I traded my 07 IS 250 SL on an IS-F - it is fantastic I got $55k but after much haggling (I also traded my SLK 280 - good riddance -so the overallowance was split between the 2) Basically I got 11k over their initial offer. Good luck

I am note that some people are swaping their IS250 for BMW's. I hope they have better luck. I must say that the German built cars appeared to be better than the South African sourced 3 series. I have recently gone the other way, after 10 BMW's of various models. My last was an E90 325i. It was rubbish and spent more than 7 weeks in the dealer over 2 years. It had a new steering column, diff and ignition lock. The sunroof and seats had to come out and it was full of rattles. After 14000 kms I had had enough. The dealer was very helpfull and fixed everything eventually but I just got tired of taking it back!. I am very happy with the Lexus (we had 2 IS200's and they were excellent) although I have only done 4000km. I also have an MB SLK280 and it is no better. The service from MB is terrible and very expensive.
