  1. HI Thunderbird2:

wouldnt it be v slow to do 2 throw action from 1st to 2nd? I might give it a try.

how about clutch? do u release clutch pedal when gear stick is in neutral?

    Lexus has great aftersales service.

RX330 is in v high demand in BNE, havent see any RX330 service loan car yet.

70,000km should be a minor service, 80,000 would be a major one, and expect a huge bill for that.

Just had my 40,000km last week, (consider major),$603.69 AUD, no wheel alignment/balance upon my request, I provided engine oil meself......

    but replaced many things.

    SSML

i leave the clutch pedal in but go from 1st to neutral and then 2nd, and you find the change is alot smoother!!!!! just takes twice as long.......

  2. yeah thats pretty much what ive been doing with the gearbox going to neutral between 1st and second but it does get real anoying and you lose alot of power! makes the car feel really slow all the time when driving at low speeds........

I started going back to just 1st to 2nd gear changes after bout a year!

  3. lol...fat chance im on the other side of the world

im talking about an RS200 Altezza...not a clue what car you guys are on about

    1st gear @ 7750rpm with stock 215 45 17 tires

    45mph or 72kmh

    2nd gear @ 7750rpm with stock 215 45 17 tires

    64mph or 102kmh

    3rd gear @ 7750rpm with stock 215 45 17 tires

    88mph or 140kmh

    4th gear @ 7750rpm with stock 215 45 17 tires

    114mph or 182kmh

    5th gear @ 7750rpm with stock 215 45 17 tires

    139mph or 223kmh

    6th gear @ 7750rpm with stock 215 45 17 tires

    160mph or 256kmh

sorry man but your definately wrong on those facts. Theres at least 4 people who can confirm that 3rd gear in an altezza rs200z can reach 180 in third gear! I've done it enough times to know! I would put down some serious cash on it if you want man!

anyways why do you find that hard to believe "Sirnixalot"

If I get a new video camera and digital camers this week I would be happy to prove it and upload it to this site!

    laterz guys.................

  4. you cannot do 180kmh in 3rd...i hope you meant 4th gear. Unless you have supidly high rev limit.

well it can and if the revs are there im gonna use them! haha

I just didnt really realise it could, there cant be that many cars in our class that only use half there gears to get off the clock!

I was just wondering the top speed as I hit sixth gear at 218 and didnt want to really keep going. My thoughts were that it should be able to get to around 240 aswell!

    cheers!

  5. yeah some of them you just start paying fo the name I reckon, I was advised that that toda one was pretty good and resonably priced, I think it has the lowest weight which also gives the best performance but im sure there wouldnt be much in it if measurable at all!

the only problem with mine is a bit of vibration when slowing down etc betwen about 2-3000 rpm but im think its actually the clutch as it doesnt have any springs or something likr that i was told, bit of pain in the arse in slow traffic as not much play in the clutch. it must be a toda clutch two, i wouldnt recomend that clutch but it must be good apart from that.

on my flywheel and clutch box it says for racing purposes only, not to be used on the road etc!!!!!!so that sums it up, also not for sale outside of japan! although it is obviously!

  6. yeah thats not to bad (price)! basically does give you more low down and mid range power! also frees up the revs and makes the car a bit different to drive!

what are the prices for headers?, thats my next mod, well hopefully the whole exhaust!

yeah it aint cheap ive kind of been told just under $3000 for the whole system, well for a top one anyways.........................

are you just goning for headers, do you already have a back pipe?

my biggest issue is the sound. I want it to be a bit louder but a nice loud, and not to loud!

  7. Hi Voice.

No cold air box at the moment I have ducted cold air from my front spoiler and it comes out directly under the pod filter. I am however looking at either purchasing one or making one in the near future.

I think Muzza's idea is pretty good, without a cold air box he has cut a hole beneath his pod filter so it directly sucks cold air in to the filter.

This is possibly the only way a ducting pipe wouild work effectively as with the factory side intake, it isnt big enough I reckon to have ducting connected!

    cheers...........

  8. I was going to do this but have been advised that the positioning of the factory intake air souce up in the guard forces air into the intake anyhow through my front bumper (ive got a cold air induction box though) therefore no real benefit would come from doing so however it would possibly direct the air flow better to the source but you wont notice it.

I also realise that with different bumpers there may be some air flow restrictions and this may be a good idea.

good luck with it, should be a good little mod to do anyway!!!!

  9. I dont know exactly what the law is in Oz but in New Zealand I think they just let it slide unless it is dangerous or blocking the view but I heard about 2 years ago that they were going to be ilegal here but heard nothing since!

as you say if you got it custom trimmed to match your A-pillar you may be able to get around it if it looks to be all one piece!

I've ordered my greddy dual a-pillar! so should be installed in a few weeks!

I might get mine custom trimmed in the future depending on the cost and how it looks...........

    Hayden
