  1. yeah your fully right there!!

I guess it comes down to whether I can be bothered at the moment. I have enough other stuff to worry about without attending a court case but thats what I should do. I'll see what happens.

    cheers........Hayden

  2. court is next but from the way the officier responded I wont get anywhere. they send the letter to the offcier who issued the ticket and as he was a wanker I'm pretty much screwed.

I should take it to court but its all just a pain in the arse. I can pay the ticket but it isnt right!

I'll think about te court, but my parents say its probaly just beeter to pay it and forget about it!

its the most expensive fine ive ever had for a stupid reseon in my opinion!

oh well its friday, bring on the weekend!!!!

  3. cant find old post, but for those of you who remember my little incident with the law on "accelerating in a manner that may cause disturbance". I got the final letter back today and im gonna be $600 poorer. :(

I reckon there were grounds to give me a ticket but $600 is bulls**t. I wish I had sat on the limiter the whole way to auckland and back that day instead. cause the fine wouldnt have been a heal of a lot worse (although I probably wouldnt be able to drive anymore) but anyways my respect for police has just dropped to very low place.

here's an idea: if police just hand out tickets willie nillie to everyone like a buisness which they seem to do, maybe we can get some discount for clubs?

oh yeah, and be careful when taking off in first gear, these altezza's are very quick apparently!

    cheers...........Hayden

(P.S maybe I will buy another Evo 4 or 7 cause I never got a ticket in my Evo!)

  4. Well my next mod is out of the hat then. Waiting on a toda flywheel clutch kit. I agree that it does make a substantial difference to the power also. It is supposed to be one of the best upgrades to do on the altezza and Ive been told I will definately notice the difference! It is supposed to give it more responce as the standard flywheel is around 10lbs and aftermarket around 5-7 depending on what you get. That less weight gives more power!!!

Can let you know in about two weeks!!

  5. yeah mine has a noise when decelerating and in a high gear 6th,5th and sometimes 4th.

I think its from the diff

yeah im sure its the diff aswell!!

and i think it must be something to do with the rear wheel alignment as I reckon it went away after 12 months but when going for a wheel alignment they told me I had real bad toe from th erear wheels, after fixing it the diff noise came back, coinsidence! I think not.

  6. me too! I usally go from 1st to neutral and then second to get around it but its very slow driving like that. No problems when accelerating hard and changing gear but cant take off like that all the time.

you just get used to it

I dont know about the shuddering but my car sometimes makes a noise in the rear when slowing down or taking the revs off, not that bad really but it went away after having my new wheels fitted and has returned now that I got a wheel alignement!

all cars have stuff wrong with them I guess altezza's are lucky that apart from those problems they are wicked to drive in.

  7. Mine's 170 kw at the wheels.. or at least.. it was, hopefully more now :)

    Turbo does help tho....

maybe you should stay away from that altezza "Turbo tezza"

on second thoughts I should think not <_<

kind of ruined the advertisment for me but it was a nice altezza alright!

  8. Let me introduce myself. I drive a RWD Celica with a 1G-GTE. That's the twin turbo version of the IS200's 1G-FE. It makes about 190kW and the car weighs 1220kg with half a tank of petrol.

Well I dont know about the fitment or much about the 1G-GTE motor but why not drop that motor into a Lexus then, it would be a hell of a lot more cheaper than building a turbo or supercharged 1G-FE I would think.

As far as the turbo charging or supercharging of those engines is concerned they still only get to around 160 - 175 kw after doing so.

The japanese altezza version which I own has a 154kw engine standard and can be decently increased to maybe 165kw+ none turbo with some modifications (exhaust, computer, air filter etc).

However I guess it depends on your budget! zee007 from the UK has supercharged his Lexus IS.

Anyways I guess it would be a cool project. Im sure there are a few that have been turbocharged and supercharged in Australia. I Remember one in Fast Fours Magazine last year!

Prob havnt been much help, but thats my 2 cents worth

    cheers.......4ROLLN

  9. 100 proof I hear!

Now I'm as confused as anyone as to what may(or may not) be under the hood on my car!(newbie on the technical side of these motors and going on what I've been told by knowledgeable people).

Hey Greeneyes, you up for this dyno day coming so we can have our showdown? ;) (will ease my mind on est vs dyno'd performance figures too)

    Regards,

    Gav B)

I am keen for the dyno aswell, so hopefully can make it on that day!

interested to see the results over a standard altezza or the factory qoutes for power etc!!!

"man a supercharger would be nice!!!!!"
