Know of one guy who's done the conversion himself but he's in VIC. Have a read of his thread >HERE<Wasn't as straight forward as you might think.
-
How much stiffer is it than OE?
-
Have you had all the wheel bearings & diffs checked? I know it's low mileage but worth a look.

I had a similar tappet noise on start up with 5w30 in my Altezza. Went to 0w40 & problem solved. I'm going to try 0w30 next service. I'd recommend only using genuine filters. Aftermarket ones can be hit n miss with quality.

How you finding the RX compared to the Territory? Bet it's better on gas hah

Hello LOC AU
Joined up sometime ago but don't think I did an introduction.
I'm Carl from NZ. I drive a '99 Altezza RS200 Z Edition 6MT. Quiet a fan of Lexus & Toyota. Owned my fair share of 4AGE powered Corollas & Levins over the years, everything from AE86 to AE111. The only non Toyota I've owned was a S14 Silvia Q.
I've recently just started working at a Toyota dealership which is also a Lexus service centre. I approached the mods/admin about offering my service to fellow club members & they've kindly given me a traders slot http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10584 So if you need any bits priced for your Lexus then drop me an email & I'll do my best to hook you up with some sharp prices
Here's a pic of my motor

They retail for $29 each in NZ from the dealer. I can get them cheaper for you, ref >> http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10584 <<

Had Potenza RE001 on mine, no complaints. Very good value for money. Got Goodyear F1 Asymmetric now, loads of grip!
-
The Bendix stealth range is very good. They're low dust, good bite & no noise due to the highly chamfered edges. Have been used with great success in Ford Territoy which suffer badly from squeaky brakes from factory by dealers in NZ.

Yellow wire from the head unit is power, one green is a speaker wire & the other is park brake signal for the GPS

TRD do them http://www.trdparts.jp/english/parts_lsd_mechanical.html I can get them for @ AU$1000 +freight

Have you cleaned the MAF sensor & throttle body?
-
I've heard the ORC can be quiet noisy. I'd stick to Exedy as they make the TRD kits. The flywheel in the kit I mentioned weighs only 6.3kg according to this thread http://www.mr2.com/forums/blacktop-beams-engine/Toyota-MR2-52147-blacktop-flywheel-2.html
I'm sure Exedy would sell them separate then you could use the hyper kit with it. If not look for a JUN one. They're good value for money.

Try your local Exedy stockist http://clutchfinder.exedy.com.au/
TYK-7378SMF would probably be your best bet. It comes with a new single mass flywheel. You generally can't machine dual mass flywheels so you will need to replace it either way.

How much space do you have? I can measure up my 3SGE for you if you like.

Most Toyota/Lexus ECU's can't be chipped. If you could get 15HP for $18 we'd all be doing it Only way to get decent improvement out of a 1GFE is to super charge it. You could try a SAFCII but I doubt the gains would be worth the expense. Has anyone done it before?

Get a new TPS, it should fix your problem. Don't muck around with nasty 2nd hand parts.
If you can hear air escaping then check all you vacuum lines & PCV. Yours is turbo isn't it? Check all your inter-cooler piping joins as well then.
When the EFI temp sensor fails it won't effect your temp gauge in the car just the signal its sending to the ECU. Most cars have a separate sender for the gauge as well. It's pretty uncommon for them to fail on Altezza's but anythings possible.
-
I'd try get a credit on the 2nd hand TB & look at getting a new TPS. xnickx on tezzaworld should be able to get you a price for a genuine one. If that doesn't fix the idle as well then I'd be looking at the EFI water temp sensor (89422-35010). I know on Nissans when they fail they cause the idle to hunt like yours.

Yep there's a few of us. ACNZA is the best spot on the net for info on them outside of Japan.
Google: Altezza NZ to find it

Put your frame number in here & see what it lists http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/q.html
What issues are you having?
