Church Point along Pittwater Rd to Barrenjoey Rd up to Palm Beach.
-
Barrengoey Rd etc etc to palm beach is my vote and gong next time.
I'm with you on Palm Beach.

So we haven't decided on a destination yet but can we pick a date for this?
In March I can do weekends 13/14 or 27/28....the other two weekends are out for me.

I deal with the GM Sales at Lexus Parramatta. Good guy
Mark Turner? Yes a good guy.
-
Sydny City Lexus.... the Sales team were OK.
Hard to judge an entire sales team on an encounter with one sales person.
I happen to know a few of the sales reps at each dealership and I can tell you each dealership has a mix. There are people that know there stuff in relation to Lexus product knowledge and have a genuine want to do the right thing for you at each dealership.
However each sales team also has members that wouldn't know half the stuff you guys know.
A good question to ask a sales exec is how long they've been at the dealership. The good ones usually stay in one place longer..the others tend to bounce around.

I think you're on to something there.

You will have good and bad experiences at all dealerships. If you go back to the same dealership several times you will have some visits that are better than others. We all have good and bad days, true?. You can't judge a dealerships on one staff member or one visit.
At each dealership they will have some sales/service people that are better than others within their own ranks.
However all the four Sydney Lexus dealers do a better job than the competing brands.
Just my opinion...but what would I know?
LEX51S don't say it!!! :D

they said that 'Lexus gave you the option to install a non-functioning cruise control stalk in your car from the factory so you could install the remaining components yourself'. But that sounds like nonsense.
It is nonsense.
Lexus Australia never had that option on IS200 manuals.
After market non genuine cruise control was the only choice.

mines set at orange for 5500rpm and red for 6000rpm. speed wise its 90kms orange and 110 red!
1. You can only adjust the orange.
2. You can't adjust the red.
3. Red on rpm is higher than 6000rpm
4. There is no red on speed
Its a good feature in IMO but I find it strange thats its only on the IS250 but not on the IS-F.

whether it would be covered under either a Lexus type warranty or any warranty at all??
"Lexus type warranty" Its not a Lexus part or made/supplied by Lexus Australia. They are not going to warrant parts that they have nothing to do with.
"any warranty at all" Pretty sure there would be a manufacturers warranty from Fly Audio to the dealer. Then the dealer has an obligation to cover parts supplied and the installation work. Which is why I would buy it from Chastswood Lexus etc & not the importer you found at Roselands.

A result of unacceptable service from your Newcastle dealer by the sounds of things.
At least Chatswood has now sorted you out.
Its a pity your experience with Lexus has been tarnished by the Newcastle dealer.
Lexus have to be careful if they are planning to significantly expand their dealer network over the next 5 years.
Lets just say the Newcastle Lexus is doggy.
FYI
Lexus of Chatswood & Lexus of Newcastle are the same company.
They are owned by Phil McCarroll Motor Group.

There's always ebay.... ;)

Don't even think of trying to run!!!
In the photo below it looks like they're trying to find the location of Danny's next cruise...
"Palm Beach or Wollongong?"

Look too much like the 2010 Aurion Sportivo tail lights

hey guys
i was just wondering how much everyone paid for their IS250's
I don't think you'll get many answer that.....
Besides if they bought more than a couple months ago its not really relevant as the market changes...especially since the import tarriffs went down January 1st and most new cars came down in price.

Only U.S Toyota vehicles affected.
List of affected cars:
2009- Corolla
2009- Matrix
2007- Camry
2005- Avalon
2009- Rav4
2010 Highlander
2007- Tundra
2008- Sequoia
With the US cars using a different component supplier for the left hand drive accelerator pedals this doesn't affect any Australian cars at all.

my ML system in the is250 is better than my ML system in my rx350
True.
That is due to several factors. The shape of the cabin, number of speakers are both superior in the IS250. Plus the ML in the IS250 is a 5.1 surround sound system, its not in the RX350.

IS-F don't have illuminated kick panels.
Only IS250 Sports Luxury have the Illuminated kick panels.

Any thoughts about having IS200-300's along as well? Probably double the number of cars.
Just thinking out loud.

1. Uploading Phonebook - I'm having troubles uploading the phone book for some reason. Got BT working OK (although just another blurb here - but do people find that the BT sometimes doesn't pick up when you first enter the car, with you having to manually connect?) - but when I go into phone book and try to upload my contacts, I get 'BT disconnected' on my phone and nothing happens. Any advice on what I'm doing wrong? Phone is a Samsung 480.
Soon as you press "Transfer Contacts" on the cars screen it will disconnect for phone calls ready to reconnect for data transfer.
You need to select "all contacts" probably in the advanced options under phone book in your phone.
Not all phones have the ability of sending all contacts but I know the Samsung F480 can.
Have another go at it & if after that you get stuck I can PM you my number and talk you thru it.
-
3. Automatic boot - Perhaps I'm missing something here, but I cannot open the boot with the remote UNLESS all the doors are unlocked.
That is correct. The back door is counted as a 5th door so you need to unlock the car before it will open off the remote. You're doing it right.

No he doesn't.
Two dealers I know of use different brands so there isn't a single answer.

One place I would like to go is the Lexus Centre (In Melbourne) but that may be a bit too far for NSW people :P
Been there & got taken on a tour of the place...impressive facility.
