Hey Jom I remember we were talking about this at the meet the other night.

I would pay a little extra and get it through Lexus of Chatswood. Not that it will be covered by Lexus Australia's warranty as its not one of their products but because you've got somewhere to go back to it there is a problem.

  2. hey Bartek, I've tried doing this on my is250 built 11/07 with emv + sunroof without any sucess!

Is there a trick to it?

My understanding is that there was a change made to the later models (MY09 I think) that allows you to do it yourself. Prior to that it required the "IT" at a dealership to be plugged in to make the change.

As to the windows going down/up by holding the button on the remote, this was the default setting on earlier models. Later models need to have this activated at a dealership using the IT. This change was made after an expensive owner incident.

  3. You can however program them manually.

Is there a method except for manual marking the spot on the map?

Redundant post....but yes & adding a sound as the icon...the first bell is best. It gives a 200-300m audible warning.

Plus for cameras that only get you going one direction the last sound icon adds the ablility of selecting which direction of travel it goes off for. Same bell sound as the first so all your marked cameras sound the same.

There are several ways to mark the locations as well.

  4. I've seen both on the street, with the F-Sport, the most noticable changes are the spoiler and the mesh grill. The wheels aren't unique since the sports package IS gets them (I think they are ugly anyways, swapped mine for X-Package rims :D ) I think the spoiler is nice (is it the OEM spoiler or another one?) but the mesh grill is iffy, IMO.

I didn't like the ISC when it was first announced, but its growing on me.

See you guys at the meet!

The Sports packge is discontinued & replaced by the F Sports, with the wheels carrying over. The out going sport was based on the prestige. There are more differences than the IS-F rear spoiler & F sport grill.

The interior is all black including the roof lining, on other black interior IS250's the head lining & roof pillars are light grey.

The seats are IS-F seats(love these) but you do lose seat cooling as in the IS-F. The steering wheel is the IS-F wheel as well.

They have also added memory seating, electric steering column, xenon's with AFS, electrochromic rear view mirror. Plus the side mirrors auto fold when locking the car which the prestige don't do. Not to forget that the Mark Levinson system is back. All new prestige with Nav no longer have ML or DVD. Which kinda sucks.

Any way Terrry enough typing from me, I'm starting to ramble.

I'll bring the F sports & leave the 250C for next time.

See you guys in a few hours.

  5. I have no camera locations on my My09 though. Have you got camera locations on yours? How do you find / activate them?

I believe the speed camera locations are integral to the whereis data however there is no way of accessing them in a Toyota/Lexus nav system.

It is simply not built into the system.

This is a delibrate omission by most vehicle manufacturers on the grounds of good corporate responsibilty. It would just take the first young car full to die at speed for Today Tonight or A Current Affair to be bashing the car manufacturer for promoting speeding by having speed camera's avoided from factory.

You can however program them manually. I am very suprised that the "How to program Speed Camera warning" instructions aren't pinned with the other how to's.

Or did most of you not know you can program them?????

  6. 10-01-18-lexus-is-f-ccs-concept.jpg

Lexus IS-F CCS Concept is a Lexus with the goal to build the concept of lightweight vehicles. Carbon fiber engine hatch, carbon fiber wing, carbon fiber lip end to end, carbon fiber side skirts, carbon fiber roof, carbon fiber center console etc. The mechanical parts major changes include: the engine intake and exhaust system, more suited to track racing, high-performance suspension , athletic-type braking system and 19-inch lightweight forged wheels. Lexus IS-F CCS Concept vehicle also spend bright orange – this is the battle against BMW M3 GTS?

    10-01-18-lexus-is-f-ccs-concept-wing.jpg

Marking the end of a two year rumor, Lexus has debuted the IS F Circuit Club Sports (CCS) concept at the Tokyo Auto Salon—a lightweight IS F with loads of carbon fiber, including the roof, hood, trunk, ground effects—just look at this wild rear wing

Along with the carbon fiber weight savings and a new exhaust system that bumps output up 12 horsepower to a total of 428hp, the IS F CCS concept is meant for the track, and is likely the source behind all the IS F Evolution rumors that have been going on for some time. No word on whether the CCS will ever see production, or if the carbon fiber body parts and new exhaust system will be available as accessories.

  7. What version Map data disc you run has no impact on changing the graffics of the screen.

You could run a V12 disc in a MY10 IS250 and it will still have the same newer screen layout & functionality. Just won't have newer roads like the M7 etc.

Unfortunately the reverse is true, older car with the latest disc will still have the older screen layout.

Its not just the screen graffics that are different on the MY10 but also the functionality. You can do more things whilst on the move, the "I Agree" screen goes away without you pressing "I Agree" after about 10-15 seconds.

Plus the phone works better with better functionality too.

  8. Hi Guy's,

Someone has scratched my bumper when it was parked at the shops. It's a very minor scratch but I want to get it fixed as I can't stand seeing it all the time. Can anyone recommend one of those mobile bumper paint repair people around Sydney that you might have used? I can't have my car out of action for days so I don't want to take it in to a body shop.

    Thanks :)

These guys are used by Lexus dealers as they are the best.

  9. First of all, hello!

Secondly, can anyone help with valuing my ISF as i am wanting to bring the car with me to Australia from the UK when i emigrate later this year.

Its a 2008 ISF with 28,000 miles on the clock.

I may have to sell it as i have found out how much the import duty is for this car. I think it would incur a 26% of its Australian value in import duty.

    Thanks

    Paul

Definately not worth bringing to Australia. As you have pointed out the import tarrif/duty will kill you but then you have the problem of a non-Australian compliance IS-F. You will have several problems the last of which will be terrible resale as its not a warrantable Lexus Australia imported IS-F. Better to sell it over there and buy a second hand one here.
