  1. I popped inot a company called Advance imports here in AK NZ last week to enquire about locally sourced air elements for my car and they told me they are building one in Australia at the moment too!

Even offered to attempt a conversion to my TRD,at a cost of around 10K NZ...(3500 pounds ish)...

    I respectfully declined.

Can't wait to see what the monster runs like!!

Will do a bit more digging on this Australian job if you'd like?

  2. Bit lucky with my contacts really-happened to have gone to school with the editor of performance car,he's been a mate since we first started modifying our (somewhat antique now) cars back in the early 90's.

Have owned plenty, but this is the first I consider up to the grade of showing-am still in regular contact with Performance Car,hopefully will be able to forge a relationship to allow a link from their site, and interest in more of the clubs cars.

    Nice blokes really.

Gentlemen, the que forms here.Should there be any Modified Lexus or such out there(IN NZ) forward me specs/details etc and i can endeavour to forward it the the appropriate magazine personalities....

    Regards,

  3. Yep-looking for an intake for the 200.

Cheers for the info Greeneyes, you keen on catching up to bounce ideas for NZLOC off each other?(off topic) apologies for not have spoken last few days, work schedule been touch hectic.

I'll be doing the same to central city, west and north shore on the publicity front-can I take a look at your flyer so we can have a uniform design to spread the word?

    I'll pm my email addy.

  4. Righto- I've searched the galaxy(or at least all of the Auckland performance shops) to locate EITHER a replacement free-flow air filter for the factory airbox OR a replacement"bolt on" induction kit,and NOBODY HAS THEM!!!

I've even been speaking to the importer for KNN to see if they can source one but they say even they have nothing listed.

Firstly,do those members that DO have aftermarket induction kits notice a difference in driveability/performance/lovely growling noises? This will direct me as to wether I should pursue this further.

Secondly, can anyone provide me with pricing on a cost (in whichever currency)for me to purchase one from overseas and ship it.

The only option I have been offered is to have one "custom"fabricated to fit my car(remembering it is a 6cyl)-but I'm a bit dubious on this as there is not a great deal of technical knowledge on these cars in NZ yet,and for all I know I could end up paying the money and LOSING horsepower!

    Would appreciate your thoughts...

    Regards,

    Gav B)

  5. Nice one guys-welcome aboard!

Feel free to upload pics of your cars,or any others you think may be of interest to The LOC Gallery !

The response so far from both NZ and Australian owners/enthusiasts has been outstanding-plenty more to come as we become more familiar with what those of us"down under" are looking for.

This is the bit where you all jump in with suggestions, ideas, and opinions on what YOU think we can do.

Hope to hear from you all soon,

    regards,

    Gav B)

  6. Hey Stephenc-nice to have you introduce yourself.

I must say, that yellow IS of yours is certainly a superb lookin beast-where abouts are you based(I'm guessin you not in NZ....if so I'm jealous!)

Greeneyes- all is under way,am about to put details of club to both toyota and Lexus dealers, good plan on doin flyer type distribution to other cars we see.

Do you have any contacts re:printing in quantity etc?

Great you're interested in helping promote the club, maybe we should catch for coffee, chat, and then I get to check out ya ride!

  7. Righto-Can't wait till the next issue of NZ Performance car!

I've been lucky enough to have been invited to have my Altezza featured in the same issue as the tribute to rally legend Possum Bourne(rip)that also includes coverage of the latest Auto Salon held recently in Auckland.

I took my own camera down to the photo shoot and here's a taste.(although done by me-inexperienced photographer)

With the aricle I've paid special attention to letting people know that there is now a NZ lexus club,so we should spark a fair amount of interest nationwide,in letting them know we're here in NZ(and Australia)in force!

Magazine is due in couple weeks, when it's out,I'd be keen on hearing thoughts/feedback.

    Regards,

    Gav. B)
