  1. Totally awesome track day at eastern creek. I would definitely do this again. I never thought the car could do what it did on the track. The car was so rock solid around corners. The instructor said to accelerate hard out of the corner and thought the car would spin out but it held extremely well around corners.

It was also nice to meet you Richie.

    Nice to meet you bud!

The F today showed me what Ive only read online... Its a solid performer both on the street and the track..

A few guys were running a few Difference setups... and its given me drive to make a few improvements to my car .. ( Headers, Tein Suspension ).

Overall , what a great group of blokes.. and a excellent environment to meet like minded folk.... had a blast...

Thanks to Sid and the boys for making this a awesome day .!

  2. Hi guys,

Has anybody got a set of PPE engineering headers and if so how are they going?

I have done a bit of research and it looks like they have pretty good gains from headers alone(about

    16whp

    )

Would anybody be interested if we could bring these into the country?

    http://www.ppeengine...lexus/is350.php

Call Lexus of Chatswood and ask the speak to Sid, i know they are bringing them in for the IS250,350 and the ISF all in RHD format ..

Im told they made the IS350 rev out sooo much freely..!

  3. I was told by a mate who owns a brake shop after he saw my brakes, is that the OEM pads are like a metal based pad... and are VERY HARD on the OEM rotors...and so very heavy on the dust also (We all know that )

So he supplied and fitted a Aftermarket pads... (which bearly dust) and stop just as god if not better..

as for Rotors, well try sourcing them from the states..and get the pads Locally or if you wanna try the pads I got fitted, Pm me and i can sort something out..

  4. Hey guys, I also got a the email regarding the track day on the 30th , and I'm def thinking bout making this one... after talking to Chris at Chatswood, it seems that while some might say the price is high , after he explained the "ins and outs" of the day , it appears it would def to be an investment even in the fun factor and of course the education factor..

Ive done 2 other driver training courses both with Ian Luff, one which was on a skid pan... and the ISF won't let you down.. it will hang the rear out the whole way round...

Was hoping to have a set of headers on my car for the track day .....Shame it aint happened yet.... Stiil the track is a great place to test out my TOMs brace kit....

Hope to meet a few names from on here and put a face to the name!

  5. Excellent news... I'm hanging out.

Revised set sent and being fitted this week. then 380-400 hp at wheels here we come.

Thanks for the update Richie, you mentioned taking one for a drive in the states - in your honest opinion did it feel that much more quicker to you ?

The reason I'm a little sceptic is the exhaust alone on my car registered +6KW and at the very top of the rev range on a mainline dyno. Don't get me wrong I love the Joe-Z, the sound itself is worth every $ but what concerns me are the inflated figures on the US sites ... or is it just that ISF's in general produce inconsistent figures because of the ECU ??

I never drove one as such, but i did take a ride in one, and yes.. the difference was crazy.! like night and day .. i hope to have them fitted soon and i will provide a dyno print out for those who are still sceptical ..

i know my car recently dynoed 353 hp at wheels... now I'm hoping that with headers... i will see a increase.. if you saw the factory headers.. you will see why gains are expected .

    Cheers

    Mike

The other question with these is; Are people planning on going without CAT's and run the potential risk of a BIG fine. I know the new headers are a massive improvement over the restrictive OEM shorties but removing the CATs obviously is a big contributor the increase in power.

    looking forward to the updates.

    Any word on fitted price?

No news on price . you would need to check with the supplier and whoever is fitting them.. i have purchased a pair of 200 cell cats from the states which I'm going to fit into my JoeZ system .. its one thing going fast .. quite another doing in legally..!

    Hope this answers any questions.!

  6. Fresh news as it comes to hand guys...

Got a Facebook msg this morning from PPE... they have made the revised headers.. are sending to Aussie this week.. to be fitted up . then we will will have to wait for production... Is250/350 sets also will be available...!

    The time is near!

  7. Moved topic to Off Topic Chat.

I guess there are two parts of the problem: opening the .docx file, and then translating the content from Japanese to English.

    First thing's first:

    1. Are you using any of the following:

    - Microsoft Office Word 2007

    - Microsoft Word 2010

    - Microsoft Word 2003 with Office 2007 compatibility pack installed

    2. Can you confirm that you can open .docx files that are written in English?

    3. Are you able to open the Japanese .docx file in Word?

    - If so, what do you see? Japanese characters or gibberish (like squares)?

    - Have you tried cutting and pasting the text (even if it's gibberish) into Google Translate, Bing Translate or babelfish.altavista.com?

    - If not, what is the error that Word displays?

sorry mate , i don't understand what your saying.. can i email u the document and u see what u can do .?
  8. Apparently a set were fitted.... they fouled on the steering arm, and the dipstick... they took pics and had a revised set made... been told we are waiting on them to be fitted.. then signed off on..and approved...

Also heard they made the ISF into a absolute monster.!

Anymore then that ... i don't know... will keep you lads in the know as i find out more.!

  9. What about PPE Engineering headers ? I got this email since December 2011, then never got any update since then. We are currently working on the RHD version of our IS350 headers. We should have something available in January or February. Until we have the part available we won't know the final cost of the headers. Lexus of Chatswood will be our Australian distributor. You can contact Sid Cetindag at Lexus of Chatswood here: sidc@m-a-g.com.au. They will be stocking the parts and will be handling all the sales in Australia and New Zealand. They will be doing the test fitting on our RHD version, and they can do the install for you as well. Feel free to contact Sid or myself with any other questions. Best Regards, Paul Prentis PPE Engineering LLC
yeah chatswood has the ISF headers now i think the IS350 is next

    Still none is stock bud.

  10. Look at the Ian luff driver training, I'm doing the 2nd stage tomoz, where it covers understeer/ oversteer, and how to control the car correctly, then he has a stage 3 with a intro to the race track (i think) .

Pricing is around the $295, and should be approved by your insurance for a discount.

  11. yes where?????

They come from Japan.... at a price of over $6 k. so I've asked for a dyno print out,

They also have a whole exhaust system also...

But for $6k these things would need to make some serious power, otherwise you would just wait (how ever bloody long ) for the PPE headers..

  12. Guys, after a bit of looking around, and countless google searches, i think I've found what can only be described as a GORGEOUS set of headers for our ISF's.

Thoughts please, I'm getting dyno read outs in the next few days..

  13. Hi all

Just had my 60,000km service and have come across a few issues. The service itself cost $635 and they've advised of the following:

    1. Brake pads and disc rotors have about 3000km left. Cost $767 to replace inclusive of labour.

    2. L/H rear drive shaft and R/H rear drive shaft leaking from 'o' ring - Approx $2500 to fix. Dealer has submitted out of warranty consideration to Lexus Australia.

Anyone come across this? I would never have thought that a well maintained 5 year old vehicle which has only done 60,000km to have any of these issues. Is it major or am I just overly concerned because of the quoted price? I'm leaning towards getting aftermarket brake pads/disc rotors however not sure what should I do about the whole drive shaft?

    Any suggestions?

Hi I've read your post regarding your brakes.. Are you in sydney .? I'm a qualified mechanic and would def do your brakes for bout half of what they have quoted you.

  14. Hi guys,

Are you over looking at your invoice for your parts when you pick your car up at service and think WTF they charged me $$ XYZ for part ABCD..?

Ive Obtained a contact in the US that is willing to help us all out , with cheaper then retail pricing on most service parts... i.e oil filters, spark plugs, brake pads etc.

    all items are genuine parts.

I can supply Genuine Brake pads, for most models of our cars,

Or better aftermarket Brake pads esp ISF, where Genuine pads will cost you $1000, (trade price is around 860) i can supply (and fit if need be ) ceramic pads which are easier on your Rotors and you don't need to clean your wheels every time you drive your car... for around $330. I use these exact pads on my car and love them !!

Rear pads for ISF are around $500 retail, i can supply for around $300. (genuine parts)

Most F-sport parts are also available... ( IS250/350 parts)

So Please PM me with your questions or for a quote and i shall reply asap .!

    Regards

    Richieisf

  15. Best exhaust for the ISF i think , is def the JoeZ exhaust. however you might wanna take a ride in a Isf that has it fitted first , as the noise aint really for everyone...

Headers, There coming out soon, hopefully in the next few weeks.....

Now i can get brake pads, and service parts from a contact in the states... example.. lexus australia want $75 a plug come service time. i could get you the 8 plugs (genuine parts) for $220.

    and thats just one example......

    Regards..
