Everyone here has given you their opinion for your question but in the end it's up to you. Like the above posts, in the 2010 prestige you will not get; Parking Sensors (Front and Rear), High Intensity Discharge lights (HID), Mark Levinson, Active Cruise Control (Uses infrared to maintain distance between car in front of you during cruise control), Pre Collision System (Saves you when you're about to die), Rear Sunshade (Moves up and down to block the sun through the rear windshield), Seat Memory (Saves your seat position for easy reaccess), Ventilated front seats (aircon seats that keep you cool during Australian heatwaves), Some prestiges might not even comes with the moonroof option. What you'll get over the 2006 by getting the 2010 is; updated nav (if it even has the nav option) and a usb port, and a newer car. In my honest opinion I would get the Sports Luxury of any variant over a base model. Especially since the kms are similar and with the base you get virtually next to nothing featurea over an optioned car. Sure it is 10 years old but it's a Toyota and they dominate the market in terms of reliability. If something does break you have alot of places to source parts. I know that Lexmania especially has most things and can replace them for you. In the end the question is, do you want more options or do you want a largely less optioned 4 year younger car. Reliability is not an issue if the car has been taken car of.

I do have to mention though that I have the fidanza lightweight single mass flywheel and a spec stage 2 clutch. After getting my gearbox refurbed the throws feel much better and smoother.

I haven't driven any other manual cars except a Hyundai A ccent manual and to be honest the gearbox in the IS really sucks, I have a single mass flywheel and the box gets really loud. The dual mass is more quieter and smoother but it revs slower in neutral. Gearbox is quite clunky and rough but I've never tried a new gear box so...

It all depends on how much you value the extra features the 2006 SL model will have. The prestige 2010 will not come with vented seats, acc, pcs, seat memory, mark levinson, rear sunshade. The Mark Levinson, and vented seats is seriously a must for me (my opinion). The only thing the 2010 will have over the 2006 is the USB port and that it will be a younger car. The 2006 shape to be honest looks better than the 2009/2010 unless you're talking about the 2010 my11 build. Like I said, in the end it's what you value more and want more in a car. To be honest you'll get more car from the SL at the same price.

You could go the F Sport intake system and for the exhaust it depends on whether you want quad tips or dual tips because the bacm diffuser has to change according as well. I personally like the TRD kit on the RC which I believe you can use stock exhaust for it but it also accommodates quad tips. Another good choice will be the expensive as Aimgain which are also quad tips. Only dual round tips I can think of is the F Sport rear diffuser.

I had this problem as well but I just simply redid my bluetooth connection and rebooted my phone. Hasn't happened since.

Guessing your wife won't budge... Guess I could try one last time. Car has been completed reshelled into the 06 chassis and everything is lined up perfectly. Hardware and software and mechanically it is a 350 with the exception of the gearbox and the diff which I replaced with the Torsen LSD from the IS300. Drive it hard and it's a very fun car to drive. Drive it normally and it is smooth. Car also has the flywheel and clutch replaced to a single mass opposed to the dual mass and a performance clutch and also the factory F Sport short shifter and knob. Car is still very reliable. ......... Most IS250s are wider on rear with the exception of the Prestige models. I find I like it wider on rears anyway. Yep 90,000kms involves spark plugs as well. Most likely will need a major for that one. To be fair the manuals are dying out and they were rare even when I bought my car 3 years ago. It all depends on how much you're willing to pay.

Yep with 25k you should be looking into under 100k kms over 09 and 10 and looking into over 100k kms MY11s especially for a 250 prestige. To summarise everything you need to know... Second generation IS are categorised into 3 sections; the MY06-08 (series I), the MY09-10 (series II), and the MY11-13 (series III). In these series you have the Prestige, Sports (F Sport from MY10 onwards), and Sports Luxury (SL). A good first indication is the wheels. Prestige cars will usually come with those really ugly 16" 6 spoke wheels. Another indication can be the headlights as Sports and Sports Luxury models come standard with HID but Prestige don't. That should be all you need to differentiate between the models... 1700kms means you've probably only filled up about 2 or 3 times or so right? The computers usually take several refills before it starts to learn your driving patterns and distance. I'd give it some more time. also 11.5L/100kms seems unusually high for the 200t...

Is yours the MY10, series 2 model? I believe the my10 (same as my09) F sports didn't come with the F badge on the fenders. F sport only came out in the last of the my10 series 2 models and the badges were later added for the my11 line ups.

215,000kms is pretty high but not uncommon for a 2002 model. 6k from the dealer? is it drive away? Does it have rego? What colour is it and is it the Sports Luxury? Does it have moonroof? 6k for just a sports model isn't really worth it in my opinion. I would go for a Sports Luxury for that price. Or try cutting the price down to 5k or less. Common issue with these cars is at high kms that tend to eat alot of engine oil. It really isn't a huge problem just that you need to use heaver oil and top up a bit more often.

Yeah all my13 models come with the new model navigation and bluetooth streaming. Not quite sure about the cd stacker and dvd. I don't use either much so I never quite looked into it.

You should be able to. Check first whether you have all the wiring and if it does you can pop it straight in.

The F Sport doesn't really have that much over the SL that I would call an "advantage". The tuned suspensions aren't really that sporty either. It would all come down to what you can get for cheaper, lower kms, condition and what not. SL does have the vented seats and much more comfortable seats than the F Sport. Don't think my11+ models came with rear sunshade as well. Parking sensors is always a plus too. Even though you're not into modding you can always add the exterior front lip/wheels/suspensions on the SL and it'll make it just as aggressive as the F sport. All comes down to what you can buy at what price but I wouldn't spend more to get the F Sport and can justify a little more for the SL.

It's a sports luxury model and it's missing the nav and rear camera? I'm pretty sure you can just fit it in provided that the wiring is all there. From previous lexus models all cars in the range should have the wiring just taped up and tucked away somewhere.

That's what used to be my car... Had the F Sport BBK 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rears, the 19" F Sport Rims, F Sport Springs and shocks, F Sport quick shifter and the entire F Sport GFX kit (front, side and rear). The headlights are genuine 2012s from the states and the Greddy SP2 exhaust with invidia midpipes all packaged in a 2006 IS250 Sports manual converted to a 2011 sports luxury with a 350 engine and the manual gearbox. Unfortunately the car is stock now except the lip kit which can't really be removed due to holes in the panels... I think that side skirts from a different car can mix if you pick the right ones. You just have to pick what kind of style you want to go with and go with whatever parts you like and fit that category. Like Wald is pretty aggressive and the Aimgain pretty much in your face... you can try skipper or etc. Loads of info on front side and rear lips can be found on the US forums like clublexus

Factory F Sport GFX lip for the 06-08 models This is quite rare and a bit pricey but the dealerships used to sell these. You might find a spare one lying around on the internet or have one directly imported from the US. In my opinion it looks the best if you're going for a subtle but a more aggressive look. Not 100% on price... Installation is really easy but you need to drill a few holes into the front bar.

The LED lights in the housing restricts the amount of room inside the headlight which doesn't allow for the AFS system because there's simply no room. That's why headlights with the LED don't have AFS.
