What happened to your old coilovers Chris?
-
I paid $1150 for the BC Racing V1 but if I could do it again, I wouldnt be a tight ass and gone the V2 for $1300. Picked them up from https://www.justjap.com/ including delivery (courier).
When you say V2 do you mean this one?
Most likely yes. If I were to get BC's, those would be the ones. BR.

Anyone here got Megan EZ coilovers? Well priced & the spring rates seem nice & soft. Good reviews on ClubLexus.
-
Oh I see. The BC's for the ISF just have different springs & are valved differently.
-
Aren't your BC's for an ISF Danny? Or are they interchangeable between ISF/350/250?
-
-
Sorry to dig into the past but was this sold?
-
Yes, 2" all round. I've been analysing pics very closely & I'm sure I wouldn't be happy with any other springs (height wise).
For me, it's either going to be Road Magnets or BC coilovers.
This is how they sit.
Not too low in my eyes. Yes, they'll likely kill the shocks prematurely, but with rubber spring silencers, should still last me a long time.

Great. Thanks a lot for that.

Did you get an ebay GFX lip? If so, how much & from who?
I really don't like my OEM front lip (08) & think the GFX is perfect. Anyone had input on where I can get one or a good copy? Painted or unpainted. In no rush to receive.
Called Lexus Parramatta in the past & they knew what it was. Wasn't cheap though (def not $300-$400 odd). I just refer to it as the Lexus option body kit. Was always under the impression that GFX simply copied the OEM option kit.

So apparently it is the end of the world.... I don’t care, I got an early Christmas present that arrived at my parents place =) YAY!!!!
Bought off eBay for ~$96, much better than paying Lexus ~$500 odd for it. The colour match is perfect! And the fitment is also great! I wasn’t too surprised as I had read on the club Lexus forums that other people have had really good fitment and colour matching by these guys. It arrived so quickly as well. 6 days from the time I bought it and delivered to my door with full tracking. I could not be happier.
Test fitment outside my parent’s place with the help of my little brother:
So fast forward a couple of hours and I’m back at home and I couldn’t wait any longer so I installed the lip. In hindsight, it would have been a lot easier to install with two people so you can have one person holding it and making adjustments while the second person looks to see that it is in the middle and what not. Or if you can wait, you could buy the install diagram from Sewell in the US and wait for it to arrive... F!#!$# that!!! I’m not waiting... LOL
Hopefully I don’t need to drive again tonight... It's just held on by 3M double sided tape with some adhesion bonding thing that came with it.
Anyways, more pics....excuse the phone camera shots if they aren’t that good. I was just so excited I couldn’t be bothered running back upstairs to get my proper camera.
Yes I'm a photo whore... Any chance to take photos, I'll do it. Leave me alone :D
Which Ebay seller did you get this from pre-painted? $96 + shipping or inclusive?

I just registered using my fb account. Still don't know the answer to that question about bananas......lol

I came across it after searching "IS250". Part of my aftermarket trawling exercise Nearly 200 odd pages to go through. Even more fun is the fact they're advertised individually (so you have to find both sides).
Japanese word for headlight/lamp is - ヘッドライト
Unfortunately, the newer DRL lights I saw didn't come up under an IS250 + above search (so the add must use different headlight terminology).
Happy hunting.

Any reviews (application pics) here on Road Magnet springs? Did a search & found one positive review about the ride quality, but I've also heard people speak negatively about them.
-
If you've got a good importer contact, then you can easily get some second hand units from Japan/Yahoo. Was trolling today & found quite a few. Still won't be cheap (just cheaper). I think you would need a flasher unit too.
Personally, I'll just do a HID conversion & leave it at that. DRL's do look nice, but not unique these days. I see so many old Lancers & Commo's with LED conversions, they've been *BLEEP*ized in my eyes :(
Having said that, if a cheaper good quality alternative was made, I would consider it.

Looks nice. Small front lip will compliment it nicely.
-
Pretty sure you can run 20's without scraping. Not in a very nice width, height or offset though.....hehehe
IMO though, 18's or 19's look nicely proportioned.

I just had that very same issue with my 08 IS250. Touchscreen suddenly failed. Given my IS250 was less than a year out of warranty, I made a complaint (had to go all the way up the chain to head office). They eventually obliged to replace the faulty screen, but I had to pay the $165 labour charge. I know I/we are not the first to encounter this problem.
Honestly helped that my Dad was in the process of buying an IS350 though. Gave a bit of extra leverage. Hope the screen that's there now lasts longer.
Recommend making a complaint to Lexus. Certainly worth a try. Even non luxury makes like Honda are reasonable & repair such faults, so Lexus really should be flexible & do so too. Go straight to the top. Your local Service Centre can make the request, but there's nothing quite like an upset customer on the phone.
About the weather/heat comment, I can believe that. My Dad had been driving the IS250 for a few months prior to the failure & parking the car outside under the hot sun all day. Another reason to garage/cover your car.

Hello everyone,
Visited this forum one or two times in the past searching for info so decided to finally join up & mingle :) Big time Toyota/Lexus fanboy. May have met a few of you already (Danny, Shane etc).
Got my IS250 brand new in 2008 from Sydney City Lexus (Prestige with enhancement pack + sunroof). Here's some old dodgy pics. A perfect example of "stance" @ its worst.
Got it via company lease, so didn't want to touch it initially. Now that it's over I plan on giving it a bit of aftermarket loving. Nothing hardcore, mainly aesthetic. Have some ok 19's in the garage (from my CL9 which I sold) waiting to go on, but since my wife's preggers, I need to keep the car as comfy as possible for now.
Bit of background, epic Toyota fanboy. Mainly MR2's (owned 3 & played with a million). I have this silly mentality that I need a modified Toyota & a classy Lexus to match up in the garage. Kinda like Shane Gorilla actually.
My sentimental Eric Bana like "beast" below (was my first car). Been in a few magazines (Autosalon, Zoom etc), multiple engine rebuilds/heartbreaks. 330rwkw on pump fuel (5SGTE).
Got my Dad in on the act. He just picked up this new IS350X last month from Chatswood Lexus. Proud he has a faster daily than me :P I envy the DRL's & 3.5L 2GR. Really is a great car. Didn't realise they can outpace a BMW 335.
Excuse me if I'm a bit slow getting the IS250 to where I want it. I picked this up late last year with my bro, so between a pregnant wife, 2 money pits & 2 dogs, I can be a bit pre-occupied
Anyway, enough ranting & picture sharing. Happy to be here. Apologies in advance for any annoying questions that I may ask
Cheers,
Jay
