  1. Lol.. now I cant upload any pictures to the garage. It tells me upload has failed and to contact member of staff! ;) I have tried changing the image size in photoshop, the file extension and anything else I could think off but still no luck. Uploading pictures here is very temperamental, I dont thing I will waste anymore time trying
  2. I think the best guys to talk to would be ST-HITEC in new market about the install
  3. welcome to the club mate, you are more than welcome to come along on Saturday night if you want, check out the new zealand meetings section of the forum Aaron "HOON"
  4. I have it too. I think every member has one against their name. possibbly to show us when we are about to be kicked of the forum
  5. Im using castrol magnatec 10w 40 oil in the engine which I change every 10000kms now along with the oil filter. Toyota reccomended to me a a 10w40 or 15w40 oil. When under the hood I check the engine oil level, coolant level, clutch fluid level, powersteering fluid level, brake fluid level, battery fluid level and then the condition of the airfilter element and all the water and air hoses. checking the brake fluid level gives a good indication of how worn the brake pads are, the more they are worn the less fluid there will be in the reservoir, as long as it hasnt leaked out else where first. using distilled water is actually better for the cooling system as far as I know because there are no minerals in the water that will build up within the engine (same goes for the water in the battery) and make sure the water is mixed with glycol antifreeze that has anti corrosion additives in it. (but dont put antifreeze in the battery) hope this helps
  6. I didnt ask them about labour because Im changing it myself, but im sure that it would be around the $150
  7. I have got part numbers and prices from Toyota NZ for the parts needed for the cambelt change for your interest. there is the cambelt, as well as 2 idler pulleys, a tensioning pulley and while the front of the engine is apart the water pump may as well be changed. Cambelt #13568-80015 $45 Idler 1 # 13505-88570 $55 Idler 2 # 13503-88560 $50 tensioner #13540-88570 $55 water pump #16100-79225 $120 all plus GST
  8. Hi Samuel, where have you been hiding? long time no see. :D
  9. Hi Tian Howz things. If changing intake and exhaust then I recommend using an Apexi super air flow converter for best gain,
  10. every time I see a civic, mitsi or suby I just tell myself at least I have an altezza to go with my tail lights... then i laugh at them when I catch them looking
  11. Sorry for the confusion, but its a Apexi replacement filter, not a pod. so still have the factory air box. And it was running BP 98 on the dyno. (although I have been running it on gull 97 as an experiment.) Oh yeah i thought you meant Pod. The gull fuel should probably go the same as BP 98 I think, I have heard they both come from the same place in Aussie and are the same mix. who knows?
  12. Yep, the car is the 6spd man I don't know if I'd count a drop in replacement filter as a performance upgrade worthy of a increase in power. It was done at KiwiRE in pakuranga, on a dynodynamics dyno. Some of the other cars being dyno'd at the time were all withing 5-10kw of their previous runs on other dynos. However, I do appear to have developed a 'hesitation' around 3800-4000rpm which I'm investigating at the moment which may be the reason. but hasn't seemed to effect the top-end using a squidsassometer. Has the car got the hesitation after installing the pod intake system? I know that you can actually loose power from the pod filters because it alters the intake air flow more than what the ecu can handle. It just makes it sound faster. The apexi intake kit actually gives settings for the apexi SAFC (super air flow converter) with the instructions for optimum gain. Maybe put the old air box back in and give it another dyno run at the same place and check the difference. also what fuel were you running? the japanesse power figures are from using decent fuel, I think they have 100 octane over there. Apparently its not uncommon for cars to loose about 20 odd KW using our *BLEEP* fuel. Thats why I only run mine on BP 98.octane, I heard that some of our 96octane fuel is really only around 90 octane and the 91 is worse. Apparently the BP 98 is mixed in Aussie and shipped over here
  13. when you disconnect the the small air hose off the top of the throttle body, you then need to block the small tube that the hose came off. Also I believe for best results when installing a pod, you should also install a Apexi SAFC or similar, so you can fine tune/cheat the ECU. when you install an apexi intake, they actually give you the SAFC settings in the instructions. It makes sense to need a SAFC because the intake systems flow alot better and so you need to able to adjust other parameters, like fuel delivery.
  14. The airflow sensor is scewed to the airbox and so it can come out. Then when you purchase the Apexi Pod intake, you screw the sensor to the adaptor pipe that comes with it. Very important that the sensor goes in the correct way or the car will not run properly, aye Matt Pm LsportlineIS300 (Matt) he will get one at a good price for you if you are interested. um,...but I have been told beside the air flow meter there is another thing inside the factory box which make it work as well... so you guys which got the pod airfilter just take out the air flow sensor and plug in the adapter that come with the airfilter then it work??? inside the factory box there is a flap that closes off the air flow from the intake duct from the front of the car. Why? I do not know. I have taken the flap mechanism out of mine and have noticed a bit more intake noise. The flap only closes of the airflow with manifold vacum and has what I think is an accumulator that holds the vacum untill the solenoid valve is opened at around a few thousand rpm. when you replace the box with a pod, you need to remove a vacum line from the top of the throttle body and block it off.
  15. Not me dude, I still have to work sunday and monday <_< ;) :(

Hey happy Birthday Bodin, did you get any good bolt on performance presents?
  19. Hey man, let me know what you find out, cos im pretty keen to use NOS as well.
  20. My car has 88000km on it now and the clutch still feels fine even when towing my bike on the trailer, I may upgrade after 100000km anyway. The horrible raspy sound is bad with my standard system. I have heard that by fitting a bullet style muffler(coby brand) that has an expansion chamber at one end can help. My brother said he fitted one to his toyota GT levin and it helped
  21. TRD does camshafts for vvti use, there are two different specs. Intake 296 degrees @ 13mm lift or 280 degrees @ 12.2mm lift Exhaust 296 degrees @ 12.7mm or 280 degrees @ 12.0mm then they also do camshafts for the disabled vvti
  22. It looks like its Francos shout today, Happy birthday dude have a good one. B)
  23. I have done drawings to send to my engineer to make up some quick shift kits on his CNC Lathe, I just need to get hold of one to reconfirm all the measurements and Once done they will be for sale. I hope to get them underway some time towards middle of next month when im not so busy. Will let you all know. who would be interested in one? They are easy enough to install and remove if you are carefull I am hoping to be able to do them for less than half the cost of TRD or any other brand
