  1. These cars will always have a great resale value, of course the longer you wait the cheaper they will get,

    That's called depreciation..lol

Best to wait and get something with low Ks, you may pay a little extra but as we all know the lower the Ks the more interest

    there is.

Not everyone likes the shape/grille of the new IS, there are still people who want a 2IS and for almost half the price of the 3IS

for a 2011/12 model they are very desirable, and if your not stuck on one particular colour there are some good deals to be had out there.

  2. ^Cheers. I was thinking a bit more along the lines of wiring issues etc. Potentially more complex since the 350's came after some updates. The drop out & in is the "easy" part. Making everything work like factory is the harder part.

Is the fuel pump different? Do you know if the 250 AT is the same as the 350AT? I assume the diff is not the same.

Manboy, I'd be tempted to potentially do such a conversion oneday too as earlier model higher mileage IS250's aren't worth a huge amount. If you have the ability & resources to do the conversion & you get the necessary front cut/hardware for around $10k, the maths work out. Especially if you've already invested in the body. You can probably buy 2 x older IS250's for the price of an IS350 at the current market prices.

I'd be very interested to know the final $$$ invested, including the wreck and any third party labor once the project is complete.

Not so worried about your own labor as i believe it's a labor of Love...lol

  3. Looking Good

Looks like you have put some $$$ into this project.

I'm just trying to get my head around the reasons for the conversion, it must be the challange.

Or was the wreck a very cheap buy...

My point being and pardon my ignorance would it have been cheaper to buy an IS350 and go from there.

As a person who has done conversions before I appreciate the challenge and satisfaction gained from this sort of project.

    Just curious on the reasons.

  4. No updates as yet. Still looking, missed out on Vakus old car. Drove a flame blue one on the weekend but the paintwork was in ordinary condition. The search continues!

    What's your budget?

I would go with Pearl White but that's just me.

I Chose Pearl White over Black, It was a very hard decision but no regrets whatsoever.

Easy to keep clean and looks great with the Shadow wheels...

  5. Hey guys!

Just signed up, I'm about to buy my very first Lexus. I've been looking at getting an IS for quiet some time now and have recently started looking at a few 350's (would love a flame blue one but I can't find one! Second preference will be white)

I'm leaning towards a 2011 model F Sport. I looked at a few Sport Luxury models but I'm sold on the F Sport interior.

Can anyone please tell me the main differences between the two models?

Are there any problems or common flaws I should check or look out for when looking at examples for sale?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Depending on your budget there are a few Flame Blue F Sports Currently on Car sales..

Good luck with the purchase ...

  6. I agree, but I'm not doing any long trips and I do like to give it now and then.

The fact that the engine has only done 6500 ks may have a little to do with it as well,

I may be wrong but I think my fuel consumption will improve a little after 10,000 ks,,

If not i'll question it at my next service.

Can you please tell me how to quote the last post on your reply page, I hit the quote button but nothing happens.

    Cheers..
