  1. Nice car. Green with envy. I'll keep an eye out for you in Adelaide. I've just posted pics of my new (2003) humble IS300 http://au.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/10630-is200300-pic-thread/page-4 Plates will be IS300 when they arrive in a few days. I'll keep an eye out for you around town.

Just had the TRD springs and Bridgestone Turanza ER300's fitted. Love the slightly lower stance. Have the rear calipers off and painted black. Will finish the fronts tomorrow, with white Lexus stickers already sourced from eBay. A couple more with the brake calipers done. Just need to tidy up all the gutter rash (wasn't me, promise). https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByL24AGs1Q-eTThmZlAzaXJxQjg/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByL24AGs1Q-eQllpZ1BDVkRHcEk/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByL24AGs1Q-eTmpOdkdoclRNZUE/view?usp=sharing Sorry about the links, wouldn't ;let me embed the images, Will have to read up on why it said it couldn't display images directly i the post.
  3. OK Settled on Bridgestone Potenza Aderenalin RE002 on stock rims.Wouldn't normally have gone for Bridgestones, but dealer is a brother of a mate, so a good deal has been done. TRD springs will be going on at the same time, so can't wait to see what it looks like. Will post some pics on Sunday, if I finish getting the calipers painted (black) and the Lexus stickers on (already in hand off eBay).
  4. Hey Covo, Karni. I've been on the forum for only a few weeks, and picked up my 2003 IS300 just last Saturday. The IS200 / IS300 group has been very welcoming, with reasonable response to my posts so afar (have made a few posts already). Check out your model specific group, I'm sure there'll be plenty of interesting topics in each, to have a look at.
  5. Just an update on this post. I took delivery of my IS300 in Bordertown on Saturday, and drove the 300k or so back to Adelaide. The car is just fantastic to drive, even with 4 different tyres fitted. That will be def fixed this week. I love the car to drive, first RWD car I've had since my Datsun 1600 and R30 Skyline. Gotta love the Traction Control (probably the tyres), and the car in general. What a great car. Can't wait to fit the TRD springs on way from .T., and plan my next enhancement, not that the car really needs improving. :D
  6. I've used Yoko's on my outback, and they seem OK, and the mileage isn't too bad either. Anyone with experience of the Yokohama A.Drive R1?
  7. I'd also be interested in a set of original rims, with decent tyres. One of my rims will need extensive repair.
  8. OK, taking delivery of my IS300 on Saturday. I think it's the only car I've seen, certainly the only one I've driven, with 4 different tyres and 4 different tread patterns Looking to retian standard rims, so thinking of maybe Pirelli P7s or a Yokahama of some sort. What have people used, on standard 17 rims, and how have the tyres performed? I'll need to do this by Monday at the latest.
  9. Yes, standard Lexus Sports grille, you can see here: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Lexus-IS300-2003/SSE-AD-2991643/?Cr=0&sdmvc=1 I take delivery Saturday, but need to find a Legana grille before parting with the original.
  10. Hi 4_DR I'll be taking delivery of my IS300 this weekend, and am already looking for a Legana grille to replace the original. I've found this guy on eBay, looks a bit of a fiddle to fit, but maybe? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/350975882952?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 If I find a decent Legana or TRD grille, I'll let you know that mine is available.
  11. Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm sure I saw somewhere on this site, a picture of a TRD box containing a front skirt for an IS, but can't find it. Can someone point me in the direction of an Aussie distributor of TRD parts, as I'm likely to buying an IS 300 soon, and would like to dress it up with at least a fron (and maybe rear) skirt, and a plainer mesh grille. I've looked on eBay and Google, and can't find anyone that specialises in these parts, apart from a pretty generic parts list on a TRD website. I also saw o spectacular looking set of extractors for about $600 I think, either on here (or it could have been eBay :|). Any help tracking these types of parts would be greatly appreciated.
  12. OK, nearly ready to uy, have spotted a couple of IS300s, one locally in SA, and another in Sydney, both matching all my criteria, except that one is not a Sport Luxury (still has the sunroof, cruise, beige interior etc). OK, its just 200k+, but is priced well, at 9K. Can anyone tell me the differences between aSport and a Sport Luxury, apart from the mid-mounted GPS, which is pretty much all I can tell from pics and specs (sounds like a TV show :))?
  13. Thanks War and Sirlack I've been looking, mainly on Carsales, and have decided on my requirements, so anyone with a car for sale, please contact me. IS300 Sports Luxury, Beige interior, sunroof (standard?), sub 200k (lower the better), sub $12k (lower the better :)) There's a couple of vehicles on Carsales in Sydney, and I'll be there in Nov for a week (Adelaide based), so might have a look at a couple of IS300s while I'm there.
  14. Hi from a newbie. Sorry if this topic has been covered many times, but I couldn't find many comparisons on here. I'm ready to buy, but only an early model < 10k. Do I hold out for an IS300 at that price, or settle for an IS200? Many early road tests flagged the IS300 as being front-heavy. Does the extra power make up for any (slight?) degradation in handling? Seems a big jump from 114kw to 157kw. I presume they are quite different cars to drive. Are all early IS200 autos 4 sp and is300 autos 5sp? In case you want to msg me, I'm thinking of a < 200k IS300 for under $10K. Lighter coloured (beige) interior preferred. Cheers Don
  15. Hi everyone It is a really beautiful sunny day here in Adelaide today. My semi-wrecked Astine is being collected today, so am looking for a sub 200k (thats km, not price :|) IS 300 or IS 200. I have looked at a lot of other options, and decided this will give me everything I want in a car, for the time being. Look forward to catching up on posts and opinions in this forum. Don
