Go for it, be good to see how it works out. Technically the gearbox oil is good for life, but in the above thread its pretty clear that replacing the oil and flushing can have great benefits, especially if you are holding onto the car for a while / driving it hard.
Plenty of good salesman out there, there is no special tool / easy way for flushing. You let it get cold. completely, overnight, then refill with the specified fluids, check, test, check then test again. There is no easy way.
The Lexus master technicians advice will do me fine. Each to their own though, let me know how you go.
Sealed for life means the life of the item (gearbox) before it eventually fails.
It doesn't mean it cannot be made to last longer by performing preventative maintenance.
Servicing will make its " life" longer.

Those items are all Toyota parts. An indepdant Toyota shop could help as well.

They (Melb City Lexus) told me 2hrs to 3 Max. Blackburn is closer to me but I purchased from Melb City.
My wife and I are going to 'explore' Melb for a few hours :)
-
Thanks. Contacted them but they have never been approached to do that from an Lexus owner...yet.
They will investigate :)
My reason for dong that is so I can run other GPS apps on the screen etc

Please enlighten me on the steering damper and how it works, affects, feel etc. It looks like inertia weights or harmonic reducer?
Very interested ;)
I currently design 4x4 suspension kits including dampers. I use a part that looks like a shock absorber across steering components.

72,000k's on car.
Over the drive I dropped in elevation about 150 meter's. Thats what did it
-
My wife leaned over for the shot.
105 is 98 in mine.
@tasweb
im not going to get into a slanging match with you.
1st post says at 70k in.
The rest of the trip with driving around the coast it went to 8.5 and the gauge went lower
-
Gauge goes a few more mm to the right when full.
It goes down don't worry.

Had an approx 200k trip today from Ringwood to Sorrento and back (Inc a stop for a few hours at Peninsula Springs for a soak :) )
Saw the best fuel figure Ive had so far. After a couple of days of small local trips I was suprised to see the Tank average drop from 12.8 to 8.8.
Then it kept going right down to 7.7l 100/k after about 70 k's on.
It was freeway driving but Ive never had a run this low before.. pleased aye

Came with an applicator block too.
Dip damp block into powder and apply with block.
