  1. I've got Bilstein adjustables with coilovers.

They are fairly stiff, but I wouldn't say harsh. More like sporty.

I can throw it into a corner and know i'll always come out the other side. Think the tyres help out aswell.

Ride height is set at about 25-30mm lower then normal at the moment.

I'll drop it right down for the South Island 4 & Rotary Nationals next month. :D

They came with the car when I bought it. Lucky me. B)

  2. I got my new Altezza a week ago.  Freshend it up from its trip from its Homeland and had it complied.  Been driving it around a bit and I have not much to say really.  It is a great looking car and very comfy to drive.  But  where the hell is the 220BHP????  Over rated if you ask me.  I was expecting alot more.  Prob my fault as I think I expected to much from the Family sedan.

Such a shame they didn't come out with a 2ltr Turbo 3SGTE motor.  Would make it a much more exciting car.  I am now going to sell it and buy another 180SX.  Wouldn't mind another Altezza to get to work and back though.  They give such a nice ride making it great to head from Town to Howick each day.  Would get an Auto though.

I also hear what you are saying. My last toy was a S4 Rx7 with TO4B turbo and stage 2 porting etc and going back to any N/A car was a real dissapointment.

I first went for the Altezza for the good looks and comfort .

I found it took a while to learn how to drive it properly to get the power out of it with the 6 speed, with the power characteristics of the 3SGE theres no way I would want an auto.

you are right, I also think they should have come with a 3SGTE. Im going to look into a MR2 engine for the rods, crank, pistons, turbo exhaust manifold and turbo etc, if it will all fit in nicely then hopefully it may save some money. Has anyone else looked into it?

Yea, i'm currently in the process of rebuilding my engine.

It has a td04h greddy turbo kit.

Putting 3s-gte pistons in it to drop compession down to 9:1.

Only gonna be running about 7 psi.

  3. Hey Chip, welcome :D

    R u in chch?

Check out tony's tyre service. They did a set of FM 901 dunlop tyres for $215 per tyre, which is a sharp price.

They also do great deals on alloy wheels, and packages.

They will also match any deal from any other tyre store.

    Hope u find something u like. ;)

    Cheers Corey

  7. THZ everybody..

actually wat i want my car 2 be comfortable 2 drive on st while give gd controllable (since im a rookie driver) performance on track so now im still struggle wif which header 2 get..

hmm.. yea i did think of da TURBO idea b4... but it would costs alot more dan $4k coz things like injectors, fuel pump and computer is necessary for turbo.. all these + da turbo would cost me ard $10k..so it costs too much 4 me

+ HOON....actually da guy dat give me advise b4 its soichi in ST HI-TEC....do u think of getting a flywheel too ??? how bt we buy together .. so we might get a discount together...

+ actually im abit confused wif top-end pwr + mid range pwr thing... so is top end mean 5000rpm-7000rpm + mid range mean 3000-5000 rpm??

+keith u can hv my old flywheel if u want

    THZ very much everybody

Hey, a turbo kit will only cost about $4000-$5000 fitted. Thats for a Trust-GReddy bolt on kit. U can look at the kit on www.trust-power.com. The only thing u'll need is a new exhaust. ;)

P.S. pics of turbo kit & intercooler on gallery 32 :)

Price: 230,000 yen for turbo kit and 88,000 yen for intercooler.

    Cheers Corey

  8. Ok guys,

Had the altezza dyno'd today and the figures came out pretty good.

The injectors were running up to 97% @ 5000rpm when the cams opened!!!

Also anybody looking to get their car tuned or dyno'd, i can recommend gary @ P.A.D Racing,

    he's done a f**kin awesome job!

He has programmes to tune: LINK, MOTEC, + a couple of others.

Dyno sheet in gallery 32 if anybody wants a look B) ;)

  9. Ever priced up carbon fibre bonnets?

I can get them with funky venting for bout $1500rrp, but checking if available at better price.

I no where 2 get a carbon fibre bonnet if u still want 1.

    Really cheap, $800 NZD.

Only thing is it sits about 1mm high at back, but should be able 2 b adjusted down.

  10. Hey guys, my car's goin on the dyno on the 10th Dec to fix the fueling problem.

Hopefully after all this is done and it's running the way it's supposed2, it should have around

    165-180 RWKW (230-245 RWHP). :D

I'll add 2 this post when i get the results.

p.s. fixed a small problem 2. Tightened some intercooler silicon hose and fixed 2 leaks, now car

runs 6 psi boost easily.
