Top Speed! Top Secret....

Alright so whats the top speed rating on altezza's? After having my rsm set up properly after about a year I had a bit more of an idea today.

So yeah 180km/h in third, to fourth and fifth until 218km/h then sixth and backed off at 222km/h. So what is the top speed rated on altezza's?

you cannot do 180kmh in 3rd...i hope you meant 4th gear. Unless you have supidly high rev limit.

Who says you can't hit the speed limit (180 km/h) in 3rd gear?

I've done it while out passing an evo 3. Wondered why the car lost power, then looked down and was pulling 180 just on the redline.

Altezza's should do 240 km, if specs are anything to go by. Read it on a website somewhere.

Had mine up to 216 km/h on the speed meter, which gets rid of speed cut.

I just didnt really realise it could, there cant be that many cars in our class that only use half there gears to get off the clock!

I was just wondering the top speed as I hit sixth gear at 218 and didnt want to really keep going. My thoughts were that it should be able to get to around 240 aswell!

I agree i've had mine upto 214 and felt it could go more. Before i put the speed cut in i could get 185kph out of third then when i changed into fourth it would drop back to 180.

<_< If i could find a nice straight closed road i would love to wind it out but i till then i'm willing to wait.

i really find that hard to believe. Considering i have to change from 4th to 5th @ 180kmh

sorry man but your definately wrong on those facts. Theres at least 4 people who can confirm that 3rd gear in an altezza rs200z can reach 180 in third gear! I've done it enough times to know! I would put down some serious cash on it if you want man!

If I get a new video camera and digital camers this week I would be happy to prove it and upload it to this site!

where did you find those facts from anyways! some of it looks about right but also 4th gear goes well over 200km/ph

anyways i'll take the 256 top speed. so so far weve got a top speed of somewhere between 240 - 256 max!

the reason i disagree is because it isnt possible in my car. I would agree whole heartedly if i could do it but my car cannot do 180kmh in 3rd.

What wheels and tires are you guys running?

I was running factory 17's with 215x45x17 Toyo's

18's 215/40/18 are the same diameter as factory wheels or extremely close!

Before I bought my altezza i did a bit of research and all reports I looked at found they have a top speed of 225km/hr

O...ive find it hard to believe too....because i never done it before too...

is it bcoz my car dont hv enough mods on? what sort of mods hv u guys fitted on your cars?

my car is currently fitted wif a TRD muffler, apexi pod filter + S-AFC and im running on factory 17inch wheel. i can reach 180 in the 4th gear (i think).... but the speed cut will be on when the pin reach the bottom end of the speedo.

so is it because of my shifting skills is too bad?? i change my gear when my car reach ard 7800rpm (shown on S-AFC so might b inaccurate)

and actually will the RSM get rid of the speed cut as well as improve performance a little? and r they accurate?

And except 4 a turbo, could u guys recommend me some mods that can make my car had the performance like you guys?

Well all i had at that time was HKS RS induction. All i can say is to the non beleaver's is. "See You At Taupo" I am willing to put it on the line B)

Im thinking "Muzza" maybe the factory let go a number of Super Altezza's that can do things not explainable in the real world. It seems a couple of us on this forum are the lucky ones who own one

Hmmm - i seem to think all these 'super' altezza's are silver metallic ;)

There maybe something in this..... :D
