What Do You Think Are The Best Tyres For Performance, Noise And Treadw

I am looking at purchasing 4 new tyres for my IS250 and I am interested to hear from others what has been selected. I am leaning towards the Pirelli Pzero Roso and was also wondering if anyone had tried these.

Hi hmmd

These three are almost mutually exclusive. You cannot have premium performance with exception tyre wear and minimal noise. It will always be a compromise.

I opted for quiet Yokohama av550 tyres. Firstly they are designed to be quiet, and they are. I am happy with the performance, but I don't push this car as hard as I did my WRX, and as such the tyre wear has been good. Very happy with these tyres.

The other consideration was getting the same tyres on all corners which does prove more difficult with the SL sizings.

For performance side, I might probably go Pirelli zero, or Michelin pilot sport.

Back when I had my Skyline, many people recommended Federal 595s.

Michelin Pilots have always been at the pinnacle of tyre technology, and have a price to match. Haven't heard many complaints about them either.
