Jerky Gear Change From 1St->2Nd

Hi everyone, i notice my car is a bit jerky when changing gear from 1st - > 2nd, especially at low speed. The gear change is just not smooth at all. Its just happening on 1st - > 2nd, other gear changes are quite smooth. Is it normal ?

Do you drive in sports mode?

In normal mode the car will usually take off in 2nd if taking it easy so the first change is 2nd to 3rd, but I believe that sports will lead to first gear takeoff leading to a more noticeable gear change to 2nd.

Hopefully that's all it is.

Yea..it's normal mode. I didn't know the car take off in 2nd......But am quite sure the car actually take off in 1st coz I hv the gear box display on the dash to show it. Hopefully it's not something wrong with my car

The car will take off in 2nd gear in Snow mode... not normal mode.

Atlantis, so you are saying the car will always take off in 1st, except in snow mode? I thought otherwise in certain circumstances.

Samsung, if you have the gear display up then I would expect that to be correct. May need to chat to your service department.

From dead still, it should use 1st to launch.

Snow will make it start in 2nd to reduce slippage.

Oh.....so everyone on this forum doesnt hv the jerky gear change at all

am i just too sensitive? Or my car actually has gear change problem?
