Vukie Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Hi All, So the standard tyres in the IS350 have come up for replacement, I have been happy with the standard Dunlop SP Sport 2050 but at $450 a corner im looking for something a bit more cost effective, can anyone recommend what they are running? My priorities are a quiet tyre that is comfortable, long lasting and offers adequate grip/performance in that order. Alos I don't like how the 225/40/18 tyre size looks on the front rims, are there any issues running a 235/40/18 on the front on a car at standard height?
DforDarwin Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Kumho KU 31/39! Cheap for it's range. Grips well in rain and dry. The size of the tyre wouldn't make much of a difference at all. I'm running a 245/40/17 / 265/40/17 And it's completely fine.
Vukie Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 seems the 255/40/18 size for the rear is not very common, any issues running a 265/35/18? opens me up to a much wider range of tyres
DO IT Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I had 265/35/18s and 275/35/18s on my rear stock wheels. No issues at all.
