Window Trims

Recommended Posts

I notice the latest RXs and a lot of other high end cars have a narrow chrome trim extending all the way around the outer window frame. I'd like to add these to my RX but having trouble finding a source. I've seen kits advertised on Ebay and elsewhere but these always include the pillar post trims, which I don't want. Any ideas on this, or do I need to throw myself on the tender mercies of Lexus of Perth :o ?

Well I think the car could do with a bit of a lift, visually, and it will be some years before I replace it. So if I can get this done for a reasonably outlay I'll have several years of a better looking car. I think it's worthwhile provided I don't have to sell a kidney to achieve it. :)

As a Lexus owner, I no longer have the urge to personalise my vehicle. It is already a beautiful vehicle for what it is. When I was driving toyotas and hondas, I would mod them with all sorts of aftermarket bits eg. altezza lights, seats, grills, steering, buying parts from overseas at all cost. I was passionate about my cars then. I still do but with Lexus, it's all about refinement and luxury. Perhaps I'm just getting older now :).

I hear what you're saying. I'm feeling the chrome bits you see on Mercs.

While I haven't found the window surround chrome bits for the 06-09 RX350.. plenty for 2010 RX350 though... I did manage to find Chrome door handles

Hey Poisson, finally found a chrome trim kit

http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m57859349

Looks quite nice with the window chrome trim. It says the product is imported from USA so you could try and source one from the States. Mine has the L'chrome door handles as standard.

Thanks Howie. That kit looks like it includes all the pillar trims which I don't really want. I think the surrounds are reasonably subtle and give the appearance a lift, but I don't like the look of too much chrome.
