  1. hey gitaman - welcome to the club buddy ;) Can I ask a stupid question? I am in the UK - and we don't get the 'Gita'. what model is it? looking at your avatar - I'd guess its what we call the "Sports Cross" - the wagon / estate version of the IS / Altezza?
  2. tried a good curry? that should liven things up
  3. :( yes, in a few hours - but I will wait up if you are really gonna come and pick me up! :P
  4. and swinging by up here to pick me up? eh mate? eh? <_<
  5. Guys, we have experienced some problems with the forum software - as you have probably realised. We are working to resolve the situation - please note that this is older version of the forum database, so posts will be missing. If you are a member being told that your username and password do not exist, please re-register to continue to use the forums. Thanks
  6. ermmm its called rubbing it in? ner ner ner ner ner! I'm trying mate - just not came up again yet :(
  7. had my illuminated scuff plates fitted today - have been chatting to Matt about these, so thought I'd share a pic! I'll try and get some photos tonight when it is dark and they are more lit up B)
  8. expect you do mate - but living in a country where this isn't a law, the number of young muppets driving around at all hours, with 6 mates in the back of their Nova (very small, cheap POS car), stereos balring etc makes me think that this would be a great law to have over here!
  9. OK - so because Matts only young, he is on a restricted license - and shouldn't be out late with people in the car. I get it. I approve actually - I like that law.
  10. wow Matt - one lucky guy! Whats an illegal passenger? You smuggling young Phillipino ladies or something?
  11. putting them on this weekend (hopefully) pictures will follow B)
  12. looking sharp ;) considered going for a starkly contrasting colour, such as red or yellow - but I thought that as the stickers are chrome, decided to tie it in to the color scheme of the car. B)
  13. Major problem for me. I have gone through 10 tyres in 16 months (43k miles) :( In the UK - we are still to reach a conclusion as to whether its a fault or just some people being unlucky Switched to Toyo Proxes all round last month (I only really needed two fronts - but didn't want to mix and match).
  14. Just another point - as you can see by the dirty fingers on the wheels - there is a light spattering of brake dust on the rims. Those wheels have not been cleaned now for two weeks, and they have done between 750 and 900 miles in that period. The EBC rotors and pads I have on the front really cut down on the brake dust. The guys running standard Lexus rotors / pads will vouch for how dirty their wheels would be in that sort of time frame.
  15. its not a bad match - I would have preferred it to be darker - but Hammerite don't colour match to Lexus paint codes still - looks a lot better than it did before, so I am pretty happy. I wouldn't mind so much if that was what caused the problem - unfortunately, in the UK the phrase "picturesque beach" is an oxymoron
  16. Finally got round to painting my calipers today. don't know about down here - but in the UK, the IS calipers have a real problem with corrision. heres a pic of mine before I painted them as you can see, they look really awful, with white, fungal looking spots. Got the wheels off, and gave them a good scrub with a wire brush to remove any rust or flakiness. Them rubbed them down with white spirits to thoroughly clean the surface. Gave it two good coats of Hammerite Smooth - was a beautiful warm day, so it was drying nice and quick - left it for twenty minutes for cold drinks between coats. Left it to dry for half an hour - and put the wheels back on. big improvemment I think! I have some chrome Lexus stickers to go on them - but thats a job for next weekend :(
  17. <neo> whoah. </neo> you thought of approaching a NZ garage about fitting a supercharger as a dev project? Mat C could put you in touch with TTE to source a 'charger - and you and the garage could share cost of the work? then you tell everyone on here about it, and some of those people want one fitting too?
  18. I run an IT consultancy, and a freelance IT consultant.
  19. sorry guys - I don't admin on the UK forums - so I cannot do it personally. I have asked Steve to link us up from UK and TOC - but he's not had time so far. I'll prod him later on about it ;) PS /waves to Zee :D
